The Names Thread
This thread is, (As the title implies) for names. I find it very difficult to come up with names for my character(s), and I'm sure that I am not the only one. Please post any suggestions, for any race, class, whatever. Thank you!
I'll start off:
Strykerius-(Imperial/Breton)

I named my Orc Festus, which is short for Hephaestus, the Greek god of smithing and craftsmanship.

This website helps.

I have Ash Kerr a Breton Spellsword and descentant of my Morrowind/Oblivion character Ryan Kerr.
I will make Top Cat a Khajiit who is a jack of all trades.

Re: The Names Thread
That is a good website, but names perfected by people work so much better. That website is a start, but then Its probably best to work the name around a bit. Also, this thread should serve as a list of names for people to choose.Knight Captain Kerr wrote:This website helps.

My characters names are Optimus Prime, Morpheus, and Rovaanvulthur- using the dragon language to make names is fun.

Re: The Names Thread
Man, all of your character names are so complex and proper. I feel like I am doing it wrong!
My current character is a Dunmer female that I named Freya, after the character from Chobits. Like the Dunmer, Freya was also gloomy and very, very ill-favored by fate.

Male Argonian: Dilophus
Female Argonian: Dilophia
I know, they aren't very imaginative. But they are similar to the dinosaur name dilophosaurus

Re: The Names Thread
I have an Argonian assassin called Cyn-draek, an Argonian battle mage type called Argen Mad-Wood, Who is the last descendant of The Champion of Cyrodiil who is also the Nerevarine, and a dunmer named Savroth Aren as he is descended from my morrowind dunmer Dovynn Aren. Dunmer names are so easy. P.s. I also had an altmer mage called Malinoth

Re: The Names Thread
My nord is called Sigimund after Sigmund who fights a dragon with a reforged sword in norse mythology. Just get some norse books out from a library and scan for a name that sounds good. Also read some myths because there are some great ones. The myth I most want created for skyrim is when Thor travels to the land of the giants and a giantess turns a stream into a raging torrent by urinating into it and Thor escapes by climbing up a tree. Quite how this could be done on skyrim I don't know but there at least should be giantesses for where have did the giants come from?

Re: The Names Thread
I'm bad with names but I thought the ones that I came up with were rather nice.
My Nord Battlemage is called Gunthor of Midgard, my Dunmer assassin is called Morgiah.
And an Orc warrior called Vulsa Stone-Chest
In Oblivion I had a Breton called Lucien LaCroix and an Altmer called Ayethredel.

Re: The Names Thread
My three characters so far have all been female, and all named after women who have worked on favourite TV shows of mine. I've had a Jael de Pardo, Araceli Haldeman and my main Nord thief is Tor Lysaght (bit of an obscure reference, that one; not many people will get it, I reckon...)

Re: The Names Thread
I named my new female Breton Aela completely forgetting there's an npc with the same name already. Fail!
And is it bad that i've already forgotten the name of my last character
I'm really bad with names!

Re: The Names Thread
Dunmer: Dralen Ferys (I've used him the most and made the same character in Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim)
Argonian: Licks-His-Boots (The story was that once he became a Worshipper of Sheogorath he forgot his name and people started to call him Licks-His-Boots because he wanted to lick Sheogorath's boots)
Altmer: Celecamo
Ri'zhad: A rip off of Ri'saad
I usually just choose names that might sound like they were in the game. I was never really sure about Celecamo though. It doesn't look or sound like your average Altmer name.
Sometimes when I'm not intending to be too serious with the character I just give it a dumb name like Mr.Meow for a Khajiit or Fish 'n' Chips for an Argonian.

Re: The Names Thread
Imperial: Valus Kintarus, my main character, almost level 50
Argonian: Gartul, Thieve's guild character
Dark Elf: Bi-Han ( I know it's not a dunmer name, he's an Ice Mage based off of the original Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat, whose real name was Bi-Han.) Dark Brotherhood character
Khajiit: J'rathad, mess around character.
