How many hours have you played Oblivion?

Post by bas237 »

How many hours have you played Oblivion? Come on, don't be shy ;)
Too much time? I don't think so. Oblivion is way too good for making it a waste of time.

Oh, and this includes SI, KotN, add-ons, mods etc. etc.
So your total playing time.

ugh.. I deleted all my old save games, so I can't really say. I've been playing pretty steady since I first got it, which was many months ago. Maybe 2000+?

Realistically, I doubt I have anything close to 2000. Glancing at the couple saves I have left (the current game and one I just screw around on) I've got around 200 hours. Only counting major games, I've played around six characters. At at least 100 hours per, I'd say somewhere between 600-800 hours. Rough rough estimate.

That would be me.

I've had it since day one. It's been almost two years now. I've been on the forums for 17 monhts. At two hours a night, that would be 1400 hours. Just today, I've been playing since 8am, just over 12 hours. The first week it was out, I was on vacation, and that was all I did, about 80 hours.

Same here, except it wasn't the first week it was out. It was just last year, circa July, when I discovered the game.

I actually may have been way off the mark. I was reading some old journals of mine and apparently I'd logged well over 150 hours within the first week. So uh.. maybe that 2000+ isn't so far-fetched as I'd thought.

I bought Oblivion at the release date, but here in Europe, that was a couple of days later then in America :(

Since then, I haven't deinstalled it. I played Battlefield 2142, Medieval II Total War, The Orange Box, Brothers in Arms Earned in Blood and Battlefield 2 sometimes, but I never really stopped playing Oblivion.

Well, only in the lost month of 2007 I only played The Orange Box.

But I think I've reached those 2000 hours. I've had 15+ characters. With some of them I've played 100-200 hours, with others only 20-50.

I've played with, ehm...

A Male Wood Elf Archer, a Male Wood Elf Thief, a Male Wood Elf Assassin, a Female Wood Elf Hunter, a Male Dark Elf Battlemage, a Male Dark Elf Myhic Dawn Assassin, a Male Breton pure Mage, a Male High Elf Spellsword, a Male High Elf Blademage, a Male Imperial Knight (my first character), a Male Imperial Warrior (2nd), a Male Imperial Crusader, a Male Argonian Thief/Assassin, a Male Khajiit Thief, a Male Nord Barbarian, a Male Nord Vampire, a Male Orc Fighter, a Male Redguard Ninja/Samurai...

And now I'm forgetting a few ;)

My first character was very simple :) I didn't even know you could make a custom class. I spoke to Baurus, and he said: "I think you're a knight". So I choosed the knight :P
But after a while, I didn't liked some of the Knights statistics, so I started again with an Imperial Warrior.

I've played with only two female characters. There was also a Female Dark Elf, which I forgot to mention in the list.
I just prefer male's, because then the armor they're wearing looks better. I especially think that when playing with a female an Elven Cuirass and Iron Greaves look awful.

I think I'm topping just over 400hrs? And I only have 4 characters in total on Oblivion (Imperial male knight; female Imperial.. er.. custom-knight; male Altmer hunter/thief/mage; and a custom Legend-class male Nord) - 3 on Morrowind. A couple false-starts have been deleted (or were destroyed via crashing), and my greatest character is notching up just under 200hrs.

Still, in my head that's far too many hrs on one game - but I see I've a while to catch up on some of the Ob-vet's around here.

(but last year Oblivion withered under Officially The Best Year Ever For Games; Forza 2, Halo 3, Orange Box, BioShock, Mass Effect, COD4 - and I only recently got GoY)

If I combined all the hours from the 200+ saves I have on my comp... Let's just say it would be EASILY 3000 +

Now, All I do is TRY to make an honest character with no console and no glitches...

But presumably they aren't 200+ diff chars, with only one save per diff char?? ....so you would only add up the hrs from the last save of each char to get your total play time. Maybe add abit more on for bits that you didn't save/replayed etc.

Actually, I played most of them through... except when I got bored I created new characters so I could play through without cheating... My self rule is, If I open the console other than to tcl my self to get out of a wall, I start a new game...

After just doing some rather caveman-style math, I have to admit to 2000 hours.

I've had the game since it came out and play it for several hours a night most nights. Except when I'm playing Morrowind.

I'm new to this board, but not new to Elder Scrolls, so *friendly wave to everyone here* :)

But does anyone reaches 5000+? I don't think so, but maybe I'm wrong.

I know World of Warcraft players who have reached 5000 hours with ease, and even go beyond that.

But WoW is, well...different. There are situations that someone died because he played WoW for 3 days long.
I'm not a WoW player, a friend of mine is, however, but you have to admit that it is by far the best MMORPG at this moment (well, maybe not the most beautiful or coolest MMORPG, but it has the most players and there's a lot of variation and there are some nice stories)

Well..for Oblivion, I'm 300-500 total..

But for everquest 2, which I've played since it's release and have had literally hundreds of toons...

I'm totalling by my math around 6500 hours at this point, not including my Guiding with is another 1000 or so.
