After a brief consultation with her ministers, as well as a sitrep from her generals, she accompanied Randall to the waiting car.
Tavik's air force was placed on high alert, as was the large army and the relatively small armored corps. The SAM network throughout the country was placed on high alert, and an AWACS aircraft was deployed. The massive Taviki armed forces, on a hair trigger, began preparing for war.

Royal Border Guard patrols were multiplied and increased in massive amounts. The Kingdom of Hessia went on lockdown, only allowing certain individuals into and out of the nation. Anti-aircraft weapons lined the borders, prepared for any form of enemy that would dare to attack. Air Force jets thoroughly patrolled the skies.

Meanwhile, 200,000 Hessian Army troops were deployed into Darestim.

The Drascian pilot was brought to an unknown location within the nation of Hessia. Ethan had been blindfolded, gagged, and prevented from hearing anything. He had absolutely no clue as to wear he was.

Taken into a small room, Ethan was bound to a metal chair which was bolted down to the floor. He was completely immobalized - could not move a muscle. The blindfold, gag, and high-tech earplugs were then removed. The room was small, dark, and well-secured from both the inside and the outside. Even the world's most intelligent and cunning man would not stand a chance of escaping.

At the cold steel table across from Ethan sat an old Hessian military officer. He was clad in his regal uniform, glaring at the pilot with his shining brown eyes. Four elite soldiers stood guard within the room as well, armed to the teeth.

The old military officer pushed a large folder across the table towards the pilot and opened it. The folder contained every bit of information regarding Ethan's background, occupation, family members, and much, much more. "Ethan Andre of Drascia." the officer said in a deep and authoritative voice. "My, my, what have you gotten yourself into?"

Ethan kept quiet. He studied the officers facial features. He had hoped that he would't be killed, but he knew otherwise.

The great city of Enaline was huge. It was a mass of golden spires and towers. To prevent pollution and to keep the air clean, cars were banned from the city. Instead, commuters had to use long, sleek and fast trains and monorails, all powered by electricity. As there were no police in the city, soldiers patrolled the streets. They also assisted the fire service and health service in times of need. But this was not one of them. They had never had to do that for a while, not since rebels had begun firing artillery shells at the city and almost toppled a skyscraper in the main district.

At the heart of the main district, surrounded by trees, waterfalls and ancient buildings, was the huge palace. It was gold but the windows shone blue in the sunlight. The bricks were red and there was a huge staircase leading up to the entrance. An arch stood in front of the palace, connected to the wall that surrounded the perimeter. There was a huge iron gate and a guard house behind it.

Outside, Emperor Eliwer was robed in beautiful white robes. He was strolling alongside his diplomatic advisor. "Send a video transmission to the country of Zorya. Tell them that I wish to meet with their leader. Also, get the servants to cook something native for him, if he arrives."

President Arlington didn't respond to the message. Instead, it was answered by, oddly, Courtney Arlington.

"I'm sorry our president couldn't meet with you." Courtney said. "But he is in the middle of a speech along with his High Council. Being the highest ranking diplomat in the Apollo House, I have answered on his behalf. I'm sorry to inform you that President Arlington will not be able to make it to Enaline due to two possible outbreaks of hostility in our near future. I assure you we'll send someone to meet you, however. Arlington out." Courtney's image flickered off the screen.

Meanwhile, President Arlington addressed the people of Zorya on the top of the Apollo House, seen in every TV in Zorya. He had pulled off a marvelous speech. The public was behind him fully and every Zoryan believed that the countries of Relf and Drascia were truly evil and needed to be destroyed.

"Well done, Mr. President." Said William Cooke as Arlington left the stage with a roaring applause from down below. "You were perfect. Glad to see Miranda still has her touch at writing speeches."

"My people need to be behind me," Arlington said smoothly. "Or else I couldn't be President. I just -"

"Mr. President." Virginia Hoffman approached the two men. "Enaline wishes to hold a conference with you. In person."

"Dammit!" Cooke snapped. "We're in the middle of two wars and they want our President to stop by on a social call?"

"It's OK, Bill." Arlington said. "I believe Percy had a hand in getting Enaline's attention. Virginia, I'm needed here. Please visit the Emperor on my behalf."

Virginia was mildly surprised at the request. She had never been on a foreign mission without the President. "Yes, sir. R-right away." She stammered and left.

Several hours later, a sleek black helicopter was approaching Enaline. "Requesting permission to land," Radioed the pilot. "This is an official non-hostile Zoryan helicopter carrying Vice President Virginia Hoffman."

Two sleek, black VTOL jets zoomed beside the helicopter. "We are your escorts." Explained one of the pilots. "We will fly you to a safe zone. Watch out for rebels." The ZA-X2 Jet zoomed away.

They landed in a runway, just outside the city. A car was waiting for the envoys at the outskirts of the city. Despite the ban, cars were permitted for emergencies and for important people.

Virginia Hoffman stepped out of the Helicopter with two armed escorts of her own. The Pilot had been ordered to wait for her, so he did.

Hoffman and her guards got in the car as directed.

Two of the Emperor's Guard, armed with burst-fire assault rifles, stood guard at the helicopter. The black car was escorted through the city by two tanks and some jeeps. All of Enaline had turned up for the ceremony and had been given a paid-day off. The procession was over quickly and the citizens went off to celebrate. The convoy drifted through two gates before the vehicles parked outside the Palace. Two servants came and opened the car door. The tanks rolled back to the army base but the jeeps stayed.

The premier's car drove back though the city sprawl to the airport, and before long, Randall and the Premier boarded a transport plane. They crossed the border into Hessia, and approached the capital city. "Taviki Air Force Alfa Golf Five Niner. Requesting permission to land." The pilot radioed to the air traffic controller. "Consular mission, the Taviki premier and a Hessian ambassador on board. "

Because of her training, and briefing from Courtney Arlington, Virginia was unimpressed. She knew Enaline didn't bring out the tanks because of one middle aged woman and her two armed guards; Enaline did it to intimidate her. But it wouldn't.

Virginia stepped out of the car and proceeded to the palace with her head held high. Her two guards followed her closely, assault rifles ready to defend her.

Eliwer, still wearing his immaculate robes, came out to greet her. "Ahh... Virginia is it. Pleased to meet you. It's a shame that the President could not come but I'm sure you will be just as good as him." He smiled. "I hope the tanks did not intimidate you. It it because of the rebels. The last time a foreign emissary came to the country, they attacked us. No-one died but we can't take risks."

"Ah, it is no matter." Virginia lied. "I have the authority to speak on President Arlington's behalf, being his Vice President."

"Hawthorn, i want a squadron of tanks up and going by nightfall. I need you on a search and destroy mssion." President Erickson said. Hawthorn nodded in agreement, and soon prepared some tanks to be deployed. She was not to partake in this mission, but give commands.

Wouldn't want to do what the people want to do... Virginia thought. "Please, Emperor. Zorya needs me, and I have my orders from President Arlington. I can not in good conscious stay here and enjoy myself. Diplomatic relations should ensue within the hour."

It was 11 o’clock at night. The entire city of Swithelm was lit up. It was simply stunning.

The plane was instructed to land on the private strip of the Royauté International Airport - one of the largest and most beautiful airports in the world. It was located within one of the coastal districts of Swithelm.

Two gorgeous black limousines, an additional black car, and six motor police officers awaited them on the landing strip.

“Unauthorized intrusion of foreign territory by aircraft.” the officer growled at Ethan. “You’ve drawn the attention of the Queen herself.”

The Fairfield Building was the economic management center of the Kingdom of Hessia, located at the heart of Swithelm. It was the largest skyscraper in the city. Queen Aurore was currently speaking with several of her advisors in her office at the top floor.

“Several nations have declared their hostilities towards Relf.” she stated, her beautiful eyes showing much thought.

“Yes, Majesty.” one of the advisors responded.

“This nation is to be prepared for ANY form of attack. Attack by air, attack by sea, attack by ground forces - even subterranean assault!”

“Yes, Majesty. You Royal Border Guard has introduced a new and insuperable policy on the Hessian borders and coastal regions. National security systems have been activated. You favored Royal Air Force is on high alert as well.”

Aurore nodded approvingly. “And the Navy?”

“High alert.” a stray advisor replied. “They have been patrolling the waters thoroughly. Underwater watercrafts have been deployed.”

The Queen sat down at her desk. “Excellent. I will deliver my speech at dawn tomorrow...nine o'clock sharp.”

As the ramp descended, the Premier unceremoniously exited the aircraft.

Aiya was immediately greeted by several Hessian secret service agents. "Premier Aariak." they each greeted formally in succession.

"Come." Randall said, climbing into the first limousine.

Even after the short amount of time the Premier had been in Hessia, she could already notice the extremely large amounts of Air Force activity in the skies.
