Arkasas I'm sure you'll fit right in, and I'm interested to hear more about that Mod you're working on, and even to lend a hand if/where possible.

Topics of discussion;
"In relation to the development of an abolitionist movement within our lands, as a rising political movement, should we ( as the Noble and Pious Indoril) show some recognition for their efforts or are their ties to both the Empire and Hlaalu (with the fact that this will remove our agricultural base; making way for a new industrial base of the Hlaalu) presenting them as a threat to the sovereignty of Resdayn?"

Re: The Great House of Indoril (Club/Faction)
Velothi! Are you officially back? If so, maybe we could think about running the debate we were discussing a while back.
On-topic: Considering that House Indoril fought to retain the traditional right of slavery, I'd be inclined to support the opposition of the Abolitionist movement as a threat to the core values and traditions of Morrowind. However, in saying that, the time is now for the House to move forward and 'regroup' or face the continuation of our fall from power. Some concessions must be made for this to be possible, but clearly those that would threaten the Temple and our faith would not be acceptable.

Velothi! Are you considering the Great House RP?
On topic: I do believe the abolitionist movement is a threat, as we believe in the native traditions of Dunmer. Also, they have ties with the Hlaalu vermin and the filthy Empire, and the Hlaalu made us lose most of our power.

A fundamental inability to adapt is what caused House Indoril too lose its power, but we can blame House Hlaalu and the Empire for forcing the issue and exposing our debilitating rigidity.

I should've said "attacked us" or something.

Re: The Great House of Indoril (Club/Faction)
Which is interesting, as House Hlaalu didn't actually attack anyone, although I'd be interested to know who initiated the war on slavery, although my guess would be the traditionalist Houses in response to Helseth's Royal Proclamation.
To be fair to both sides, House Indoril took a beating from the Imperial regime, while House Hlaalu was elevated in power and status by the same regime, and House Hlaalu took the opportunities presented to them to strike back at House Indoril for years of House Indoril's abuse of its own power and influence in the Temple to beat on House Hlaalu. Both sides are a little petty

Bah! I'm getting confused.
It might be that it's late in the night, and I'm tired.

Re: The Great House of Indoril (Club/Faction)
No, but we can point out that they are nothing more than capitalists and supporters of the settlers of the Empire that destroyed our soverignty and forced us to be a little puppet state with some traditions get got to keep as 'privileges'.but we can blame House Hlaalu and the Empire for forcing the issue and exposing our debilitating rigidity.
We can completely point that out and say we (Indoril) and them (Hlaalu) lead to the end of Morrowind as a nation due to both Houses' inability to co-operate for the rights of the Dunmeri peoples.

Re: The Great House of Indoril (Club/Faction)
True, House Hlaalu is rife with corruption, that is an undeniable fact. House Indoril's failing is it's inability to adapt. Both are serious issues, but if you really want to assign blame, give it to Helseth, who really took advantage of the entire situation and the 'weaknesses' of both groups for his own gain.

Re: The Great House of Indoril (Club/Faction)
Helseth abused the situation and became more-so an Imperial pawn, but the function of House Hlaalu (even before Helseth) was to act in both its own interest and Imperial-interests.

May I trouble you to consider allowing me to join the Great House Indoril? I've always had great respect towards them and I hold the Tribunal Temple's teachings in my heart everyday. Thanks in advance.

Re: The Great House of Indoril (Club/Faction)
Most certainly you may. I'll give Velothi a little more time to handle the official side of things, and then perhaps PM him or get a Mod onto it, but from this moment onwards consider yourself one of Almalezia's favoured.
Speaking of Velothi, I realise I never replied
I agree that House Hlaalu is very much an imperialised House, even without Helseth's influence, however, the House of Hlaalu existed for a great deal prior to the Imperial occupation of Morrowind, and should not be defined by it's association with the Empire in later years and eras.
