Re: DLC Speculation
Really, I want Hammerfell to be given the duo TES treatment rather than just being a dlc.

Re: DLC Speculation
Hmm, as much as I do like your idea Cedric, there is but one problem for me. The fact there is civil war. Now I am all one for civil wars, but didn't I just fight one in Skyrim? It just seems like that story would be a bit repetitive. I wouldn't mind however, if it was much more in depth and politically based. I do love a good bit of politics. Ahh Morrowind...
ANYWAY. I just had a very strange idea, after having done...
And this got me thinking. Why not a DLC kind of flashback thing. I mean I was originally thinking a flashback to Skyrim set during oblivion, so fighting Daedra and how the war went in Skyrim. But I just thought... no. But the idea remains, a sort of flashback. I mean there has been 200 years gone by, and there is so much lore that COULD fill the gap, but hasn't. So there is blank spots everywhere. But I haven't thought it through properly to find out what. Maybe the first Imperial-Aldmeri war? Then another DLC of a second inevitable one? I don't know. You can take this idea wherever you want really.

well i can guarantee yall that there is a 99.99% chance there will be a DLC relating to the locked archives in the imperial library, similar to the Orrery in Oblivion

I want an interactive flashback to the first Dragon War, or the Akaviri Invasion, or back to before the Dwarves did their little disappearing act. Meeting Reman Cyrodiil would be awesome. Or you're helping the Dwarves defend against the Falmer rebellion when suddenly they disappear and you have to get back... to... the... uh... Nevermind.
Then, of course, there's helping the Thalmor get rid of those pesky humans and adventuring into the wondrous land of Moonshadow, but I doubt they'll be so kind...
Also preventing Akatosh from deactivating the Final Tower would be cool. Or deactivating it myself.

i like this idea, but I doubt they would do this since it would most likely involve a much larger area then present day skyrim

Re: DLC Speculation
I completely agree with this guyCedric wrote:I registered just to chime in on this topic. ES Lore is so deep, it frankly boggles the mind. However, the diverse environments of Tamriel really make the games special. In relation to Skyrim, I would really like to see an epic DLC related to Hammerfell. First, I would love to see the desert in all it's Skyrim engine glory. Second, it's so close to Skyrim it makes for a natural jump to location. Hammerfell is so sparse due to it's deserts, that the actual content needed would probably be too sparse for a full fledged ES edition, but perhaps it would great for a DLC.
The "In My Time of Need" quest opens up several potential quest lines. There seems to be a sort of civil war, in fighting amongst factions and perhaps royals. It could provide a terrific story to jump from.
I'm looking to see old regions from previous games revisited or new regions of Tamriel explored. There is so much there, I would hate another fantasy land like the Shivering Isles to appear. Of course seeing Black Marsh or Valenwood would be terrific, but I don't see how they can move the content there from Skyrim.
High Rock would also be great and although I've played Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim and each game improved from the other, no region or map seems to match Morrowind (Vaardenfall). That place just had an amazing charm. Others have discussed mainland Morrowind and that would be terrific.
I'm hoping the next ES games explore either Black Marsh, Elsewyr or Valenwood. I've waited 6 years to see Skyrim, I don't want to wait another 6 to see another region of Tamriel. We won't cover the whole region before I die at this rate. So DLC MUST explore new areas of Tamriel or revisit regions from the really early games.
I'm hoping it's Hammerfell.
EDIT:
Perhaps some sort of time travel to prevent Nazeem's birth?

Re: DLC Speculation
Considering the time in between major releases of the TES (5 to 6 years) it would be nice if Bethesda continued adding content to Skyrim for at least three years. Of course I want them to begin developement of the next major release, but IMO, Skyrim has so much potential, the engine, game play and so one, I really think they need to have two teams now one simply focused on adding material to the Skyrim release, the other focusing on the next release. I would happy if they simply expanded the Skyrim map to some other provinces, creating the characters, cities and environment, but only offering minor side quests. This would create infinite possibilities for roleplaying and modding. They've created such a marvelous world, that I can't get enough of it. I want to see more it and yet I long for Morrowind and places from Oblivion as well.
The videos on YOUTUBE prove they mapped out all of Tamriel except the Summerset Isles I believe, heck they even mapped out Vvaardenfall.

True, 5-6 years has been the norm. However, with the popularity of Skyrim (essentially the most popular game of all time) I wouldn't be surprised if they went straight on to the next one, rather than putting it in the background as with the last two. That would probably shorten the wait to about three years at most. Please, dear Talos, TES VI: Dominion!

Re: DLC Speculation
This, but don't just slap an arena in the middle of Solitude and say lets fight, no. Let them get back to their ancient roots of TES, let them get back to the drawing board for Arena. Which was this, you and your team of gladiators duke it out for each local arena and rise in the ranks and travel to each city and eventually become the champions in the grand finals, or tournament, and they had other teams in the game, it seemed like you went to that team joined up with it and rose in the ranks.skillest wrote:I just realized another idea for a Skyrim dlc...an arena! Like in oblivion! Oh how I miss listening to Owyn say "I heard a rumor that your an idiot, any truth to that?" And Ysabel Andronicus yell at me for not talking already...hmm....weird.
And rather than make it assigned let them go wild with the story. All teams have a fair chance of fighting.

I could see something involving the forsworn. They have an awfully developed story when they just as easily been another generic person to kill and loot.

I'm thinking, they should put purchasable property in all hold capitals, and have a proper economy, so by killing or putting out of business one shop, another will get more prosperous. Some quests to do that maybe? Also, this would allow them to have sales in some shops etc.

Winterhold Rebuilt, Helgen Rebuilt, expanding upon the Thalmor and even a Whiterun Rebuilt would all seem suitable ideas for minor DLC or Community Mod Projects.

I would really like to see something more with the Dunmer, especially the Morag Tong since I really don't get to play an assassin in Skyrim. Mostly I don't like the Dark Brotherhood, and the Tong is cool. Some unique armor, maybe a combination of chitin, leather, and cloth would be awesome. Particularly some gauntlets (like the ones in the concept art from MW) with claws on them that increase your unarmed damage up to the equivalent of a sword.

I would love to explore the wrecked parts of vardenfell mixing the nice wasteland-atmosphere from fallout 3 with the environment, lore and general feel of TES... with a quest to find a certain fan-favourite sword;)

Even better, the Dunmer gathered Wraithguard and Sunder and took them to Solstheim, and there's a quest about restoring the power of those tools.

Speaking of Morrowind I want to see more baised on the heart now, I mean we went into Shor's house, and he wasn't there to greet us, I assume some epic meeting or trials could be assigned to the Dragonborn by Shor since it seems the two have some form of a connection.

Speaking speculatively. Sorry about that. However, we HAVE seen Keening, which they state in-game has diminished in power since the time of the Nevarine. Those were some of my favorite artifacts.drumgodrob wrote:Which quest is that Gideon? If that's the case, then maybe there is hope, but i wouldn't hope too much.
