It has now been a month since my girlfriend left to seek out her native roots in Colombia. I must say that her absence is not something that I get by lightly. Even though I'm almost in constant contact with her through messages on Facebook, it's just not the same at all. I can't help wondering if I grief so much when she's been gone for a month, how will I cope with the next two? I wish she was here still.

I'm sorry to hear that, Mars, but keep your head up. Sword in hand while sitting on horseback - she'll be yours!

I can track her down, find where she lives, and give you a very detailed schematic of her house. Including furniture, clutter, and the such like.
I mean, if your actually serious about it.

Well if you like the girl, why don't you talk to her more often then occasionally?

facebook isn't the best place to start or try to keep a relationship alive, nor is texting. You really want to show someone that you care, talk to them on the phone. Plus its more personal you can tell by her voice if she's happy, annoyed, sad etc etc.

That being said and if you do follow that advice, don't let yourself become her doormat as it were. If you call her all the time and she never calls you back then she's just not that into you, and you should move on while you're still young. I know its the hardest thing in the world to do but honestly its for the best, it gives you experience for the next girl, and there is always a next girl no matter what you may think. Plus you could find a girl thats closer.

anyway that's my advice you don't have to follow it cuz it really doesn't effect me anyway, its your life bro.

First time I been to this general section. Anyway I could say this on some other site, but I'd rather share my concerns with my TES/UESP family. Not expecting any advice, I don't think there is any possible, but I hope someone cares.. I'm worried about my boyfriend I've had for 2 months. He's online every day. This is the first day he's been gone without telling me why before. Guess I got withdrawal from being used to talking every day.

I'm sure it's either

A) getting yelled at for being on all the time by his parents assuming you're a teenager.... if not... weird why is an adult getting yelled at by his parents lol.
B) internet is down- winter storms are plaguing the midwest right now
C) he just doesn't feel like getting on at the moment, maybe he needs some space?
D) He found a super model and ran off to Spain for the weekend to be with her.
E) all of the above.

The more fantasy becomes reality, the more I second guess myself. Do I really want to run away, or will I just wish I faced my fears head-on? Perhaps enforcing a conclusion will be more satisfying than running away, I don't know what my mom would do, probably report me herself, but that just cements my growing indifference towards her. If she's willing to take his side, then I am truly alone.
None of this is your fault, the man can't face his own fears so he takes them out on you. Don't make his problems your own and live your own life. I know the choice you make will leave you second guessing but you can't move forward if you keep looking behind you. If you decide to leave and your mother stands in your way then she is no better than he. None of this is your fault, you don't deserve any of this and you don't have to put up with it anymore. Be strong, your life is special don't waste it on him. None of this is your fault.

If there's abuse, GrayFlux, you really ought to get external help. People in abusive situations have a hard time admitting what's going on, and take it from someone who has been in the situation: it's easier with assistance. And don't blame yourself for anything. It's not about "running away" or "facing your fears," it's about doing what is right.

I know it can be awkward to get outside help, but it really does help. Sometimes when you are in the situation you are burdened by emotions and concerns and cannot always think clearly or rationally, so it helps to have someone to balance it out against.

Both of my parents were abusive, to each other and to their children. It takes time to let those wounds heal, and time takes time, but getting out of the situation and learning about yourself and what you want sure does help. Best of luck with it all.

I know you don't know me and I'm new here, GrayFlux, but I, too, have been in similar situation. I'm here for you as well. Just reading your post stirred up old feelings in me and having a support group of some kind is very very helpful. Thanks for replying to mine, Samiam. It helps to laugh.
A, he has nothing to do but computer stuff at home unless he's maybe grounded.
B, we're in Tennessee. storms are here too though...
C, maybe, I wish he'd tell me if that's true.
D, he ain't interested in females. Do male supermodels exist? I don't pay attention to the world, I mostly stare at my tv screen.
