Is this a confirmed fact somewhere? Am I being stupid? Is this a real question?
I couldn't find it anywhere, so I am guessing there is no information on it. If you find any I would love to see it. If not, what do you think?

Atronachs (and all sorts of beings like Xivilais, Daedroths, etc) come straight from Oblivion.
Familiars and ghosts just materialize imo.

So... they are just doing someting in Oblivion and they just come into Nirn? That is a bit strange.

Daedra probably come from oblivion itself.
So we have come to solve every squabble in the village personally?

Some of the summonings may very well be an abduction, but for your starter-level Conjuration endeavours, it's sort of a contract between the conjurer and the daedroth in question.imperialkhajiit wrote:So... they are just doing someting in Oblivion and they just come into Nirn? Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

Re: Where do conjured summons come from?
Judging from all the books I've read in-game (On Oblivion, The Doors of Oblivion, etc.), the Summon Spells work similarly to D&D. In D&D, when you summon certain creatures (namely demons) you have to cast a Protection from Evil Spell on yourself & party, because when the demon is summoned (they are basically plucked right out of the nine Hells) they are hostile to anything and everyone. Daedra are taken straight from a plane of Oblivion, and arrive in the summoner's realm completely sentient and of free will, sometimes to the doom of the caster. Bringing the daedra to Nirn is one thing, making it do your bidding without killing you is an entirely separate affair
In Morrowind, a Mages Guild quest involved saving a young mage from a Scamp he called but couldn't control, and in the southeast corner of Skyrim is a burned down house, with a charred body just beyond a ring of candles -- presumably a Flame Atronach summoning gone wrong.
Like much else in the games, what the player sees is a time-elapsed version of what actually transpires, if that makes sense? In the books, summoners even have conversations with the daedra they call, and it takes a huge amount of strength to force the daedra to do your bidding. The games kind of condense the whole process by just not letting you summon certain daedra until certain Conjuration levels... something I find kinda lame.
If you want to read about Oblivion and Conjuration in-game imperialkhajiit, definitely try "On Oblivion", "The Doors of Oblivion", and "Palla" 1&2, which are about Necromancy. And there are still others, whose titles I can't remember. But all those books tend to be good reads.

This is not exactly true.Akiraka wrote: The games kind of condense the whole process by just not letting you summon certain daedra until certain Conjuration levels... something I find kinda lame.
If you find the tome as random loot you can learn and use the spell regardless of your skill level in Skyrim.
(The best example of this is the Detect Life spell. It's listed as Adapt(50), but because you can get it as a guaranteed quest reward you can learn it any time you wish). Nobody will SELL you spells that are far above your level and I guess there is some logic in that if you assume the vendors are responsible people.
Anyway, what you are referring to is addressed (a bit) by the Conjuration Ritual Spell quest. You need to tame a Dermora until it agrees to do something for you while not under your control.
