It's amazing how many of us hate Nazeem. Making characters that people can hate must be easier than making characters a lot of people like.

Nazeem, his voice actor and dialogue irks me. Anyone with the same voice gets an instant dislike from me.

It's not so much that as he's just incredibly hateable. His own wife dislikes him. Even after becoming Thane, being recognized as Dovahkiin, becoming a war hero, leading the Companions, etc. etc, he still looks down his nose on you. And he's a farmer, which means that he shouldn't be wealthy or a socialite.

Bethesda probably could have made a character that was universally liked, or at least close to it. Someone who greets the player with "Hey sexy" would probably work, or even just a simple compliment devoid of sarcasm. I quite appreciate the occasional respectful things that the town guards say. Unfortunately, they then tell me to stop lollygaggin'.

And telling me I smell like a wet dog. Yeah, the guards are bipolar. But still, it would be fairly easy to make a universally likeable character. Flattery--as long as it isn't Annoying Fan level--maybe an occasional small gift, unique dialogue as a follower. Has to hate the Thalmor, naturally. If it just happens to be an attractive female wearing Tavern Clothes, everyone playing the game would be falling all over her. Aela's close, which is why she has so many fanboys.

Bleh. I hate Nazeem. His wife describes him perfectly. One day if I find him not surrounded by a bunch of guards, he's getting the blade of woe in his throat. I have to say Ancano though, he's not quite as frustrating since he eventually gives you a really good reason to kill him, but his voice and the whole "blah blah blah your concerns are not among them" annoys the hell out of me. I've actually tried to kill him before the Magnus thing when he interrupted Tolfdir, turns out he's essential obviously.;-;

In my mind, the worst of all is the Thalmor officer in Understone Keep. I've forgotten his name, but he's the worst guy in the history of everything.

Erandur, at the beginning. Good for the fangirls, I happen to not fall over from barely dressed females.

As for Nazeem and bandwagon, maybe some people did not think of him instantly when asked who they hate the most, but once he's on a list, it's very hard to think of anyone more stuck up and hateable, especially if you live in Whiterun and see him every time you go home. I would have voted for Maven too if she was there...

Update to the Great Nazeem Humiliation Project: Nazeem sent some thugs after me. I responded by dropping a bunch of torches in his bedroom.

I wonder why Farengar is in the list as well...

And let's face it. You guys can tolerate a High Elf's attitude but can't stand Nazeem because he's a Redguard. That's racist! :lol:

Farengar's annoying as hell if you actually select some of the options, even after you help him with his dragon stuff, kill a dragon for White Run, become Thane, become harbinger he's still all like "oh you're just a stupid brute not a smart mage like me hurhurhurhur". And he's like that even if you are a mage, stupid guy keeps telling me "oh go check out the mage college mang" when I'm wearing the arch mage's robes. ;-;

And as for an universally likable character....what about Karliah or Brynolf? The thieves guild are probably the nicest people in the game, they keep giving you compliments and stuff all the time, except for Dirge and Mercer of course. *Goes to snow valley sanctum with Mercer* *Has 85 sneak* *HERP DERP UR SNEAK IS CRAP MANG*

^ C'mon, Farengar is only trying to help. ;)

Dirge is the worst member of the Thieves Guild imo. Even if you're his boss the guy still tries to intimidate you. He needs a good ass kicking, I tell ya...

And Karliah is kinda annoying with that "I got trapped in a mine for 3 years" voice but she's still a nice character.

Ugh...Karliah is my one of my most hated characters in the whole damn game. She starts off by shooting you, not telling you jack [&@%!], her voice acting is abysmal, gives you some crappy (though nice looking) armor, and makes you sell your soul in exchange for...nothing. You get a sum total of jack and crap for being a nightingale. Once she enters the story, the whole Thieve's Guild quest line takes a hard left on horrible and ridiculous, never to recover.

Brynolf is a bro though, and Delvin Mallory is probably my favorite NPC in Skyrim.

^ I agree with a few things. The Thieves Guild could've been better.
Spoiler:
You don't even get to keep the Skeleton Key! What a let down!

Also: No followers! I wanted to do the cash trick with that bosmer trainer...
Anyway, about Nocturnal, you pretty much sell your soul for every Daedra Lord. In every game...

Its not the soul-selling that bothered me. Its the soul-selling in exchange for nothing. We don't even get to keep the key, instead there is some new garbage ability. And after Karliah went on and on...and on...and on...about the Key and its super-reality-breaking godliness, its just a regular unbreakable pick, so keeping it is a waste of time too.

But as far as some of the other Daedric Princes in Skyrim are concerned, they don't really seem to have any interest in your soul, they just seem to accept you as a mortal emissary on Tamriel. No eternal commitment, they just give you a shiny trinket and let you go your merry way. But no, not Nocturnal, she has the most explicit and lasting contract in exchange for the worst reward. Ugh...

So I edit my vote for Twit of the Year to: Delphine, Delphine, Karliah, Esbern, Delphine.

I actually hate Ancano more than Nazeem, but Ancano gets his comeuppance in the end anyway, and Nazeem doesn't get anything unless we take matters into our own hands. It is a bit of an irony that the people that everyone likes are in the Thieves Guild, though I like the Greybeards a lot and Paarthurnax is my favorite character. Honestly, Brynjolf should run for president or something. I'd vote for him.

I'd rather vote for Nazir or (even better) Babette.

Babette's the best character in Skyrim.

Ah, my mistake then. Thought you were replying to the poll and not to a user. Sorry :P

As for the president thing, I think a Khajiit would rock. Like Ri'saad for example.
