Lord of the Rings - The First Age

"Yes sir" Dwanum replied and he walked off.

As Dwanum ventured through the forest, he became aware of growling and the breaking of branches. The trees, gnarled and twisted due to centuries of growth, intertwined creating a thick wall of wood that was impassable without a good axe. Smaller trees were stunted as the larger trees reached high into the sky, creating an ceiling of wood which stopped light from passing through. Brown leaves lay on the path and small shoots of briar poked through the ground. Despite the fact that it was a fully recognized road, it was unkempt and covered with mud. Wolves and Wargs stalked prey behind the trees, every so often glancing at Dwanum who, even in his tough armour, would be an easy dinner.

Dwanum unsheathed his weapon stealth like. "Does anyone see those?" He whispered.

The dwarves looked at him, noting his presence before packing again. Borri began to walk back to the camp. A gruff-looking dwarf with mithril armour and a large warhammer walked up to Dwanum. "Take this." He gave Dwanum a large sack. "There's another squad about ten minutes into the forest. Take this to them. I know exactly how much gold is in that and it's sealed so don't try to steal any of it."

Alright, I still don't see where the other dwarves went away

Dwanum raised his mattock, scared, just seeing things with little glimpses. Not seeing the body, but the eyes. Seeing the claws and not the paw. He walked very quietly, spontaneously looking in all directions.

They didn't. They were at the start of the forest packing and sent you into it to deliver something to another squad further in.

A wisp toe through the trees, dark and foggy. It landed in front of Dwanum and pushed him to the ground. "Halt, dwarf. I have come to get you. Do not be alarmed."

[Imp]

Nevermind what he said, Dwanum jumped back a few feet then realized he was a friend. "Are you the person I am supposed to deliver to?"

[POMC S117]

"No, I am more important than that. I am the Crowmaster. I have come to take you to embrace your destiny. Don't worry, I wil bring the gold to who it needs to go to." The wisp, despite it not being physical, grabbed the gold and too it away.

[Imp]

Dumbfounded, Dwanum looked at the wisp dissapear. He took a few steps back, then broke into a sprint to where he came from, yelling for the commander.

The commander's way back at the camp. You're still in the forest. He won't hear you.

The Crowmaster re-materialised in front of Dwanum. "Do I have to do this?"

[Imp]

"No-o si-ir," Dwanum stuttered."

Then where do I go now?

Renraku and Neptu heard the dwarf shout for his commander, They then rushed out of the hut and went to the area they heard it come from. "who is there?" Renraku said smiling.

"Don't worry Dwanum. I will not hurt you. This guise is... needed so that the orcs believe I am as evil as they are. But I need you. You must come with me to Brethil. You will find tat the gold has been transported to the squad. To everyone in the army, you have been waylaid by wolves. It is a tragic loss." The wisp manifested into a wise old man with a long white-grey beard and a crooked nose. "oh... And your wife will be coming."

How on earth did you hear him from Brethil?

"My... My wife? Why?" Dwanum was somewhat scared.

"Because it is her destiny. As it is yours to come with. Now, chop chop. Up we go. No need to get your cloak muddy."

The forest is huge! And it isn't called the Forest of Brethil!

Don't worry. I've not ignored you. You will all get together and we will adventure! This is the plot I was telling you about!

"okay" Dwanum followed.

Shama was serving some men some ale while all of this was going on.

"So, dwarf, what have you been up to?" Asked the man, cutting through the wood with his staff.

[Imp]

"Hiding, fighting, running out of burning houses..." Dwanum replied.

[POMC S117]

"I thought stone couldn't burn." Said the man, walking deep into the forest.

[Imp]

"The rugs and things burned, and the stone was hot to the touch."

[POMC S117]

"Yes, fire tends to do that." The sage was slightly mocking.
