Condolences for Luto, Avron. Perhaps locking your superiors in an ice cold freezer would serve to quench your thirst for vengeance?
More realistically, it's obviously a plus that the owner so appreciated your presence as to acknowledge such- I can't believe that the heat has yet to be properly repaired, however, given your first post regarding the topic nearly a week ago.

Just ate the cheapest dinner I've ever had. Soup in a can! Grand total: €0.60.
I think I may do this more often.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
the two past days, a lot has occured to me, a lot more than usual!
So I was awoken yesterday by my phone ringing, turns out it was a temp agency I applied for back in October, who wanted me to attend a meeting tomorrow. Then I went to my friend's house and spent the day there and today I was awoken by phone ringing once again, this time around it was the local job who called me in for a job interview (which I gladly accepted) and hopefully they will call me tomorrow night and tell me that I got the job.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
I had a happy morning. Went to breakfast, showed my relatives around the city. I walked to piano as I do every Thursday. Upon coming back, these two men in a mini-van pulled up to me and gave me this little prayer card thing and a card disguised as a $20 bill and one would not shut the hell up about god and religious stuff asking me about it while the driver, this old guy was sitting there with a huge smile on his face, pretty much stuck that way. They just kept going and going until I said "You need to put yourself in my position. Two grown men pull up to a child on the side of the road and keep questioning me and prying answers out of me while I just want to walk home." They insisted that they where not prying, but I left and they left as I did. Then I arrive home and in front of my house I see some random woman taking a photo of my house.
I am freaking nervous. My parents are in Las Vegas.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Good luck, Hippie!
And Vendetta, can you call a neighbor or someone nearby? Maybe stay at a friend's? I would be nervous, too!
So today I went and looked at some apartments, but they were such teases. The first was okay but too expensive and quite a mess, and not available until mid March, and the second was absolutely perfect...but as I called to make the appointment to sign the lease after reviewing it at work, the woman who looked at it three times prior decided to make up her mind. I can't believe I was ninja'd! So angry and disappointed...but it is what it is! The good news is a realtor got back to me today, so maybe she can help me find a place. I sure hope so! I need it soon!

That's unfortunate, Avron- ninja'd while searching for an apartment! Who would've thought?
I assume, Frostmage, that the creatures which you've referenced are part of the game from where the dragons in your signature originated.

There is a bushfire a few towns away. Chances are the weather will go to [&@%!] tomorrow morning and it'll be able to reach our house within hours.
Yep, we're screwed. Nice to know our district might go up like Victoria did. Hardy har har....

Yep. A heavy northerly and the fire will go absolutely berserk. it'll be going through a mountainous area that hasn't burned since 1988. Not good for any nearby towns for sure.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
That's horrible, Dan-Ru- hopefully, despite your current predictions, the weather will not prove conducive to the fire's further spread.

As do I. Worried for the nearby town though. The fire is pretty much in the hills just beyond them, about 5km away probably even less.Leyyuce wrote:That's horrible, Dan-Ru- hopefully, despite your current predictions, the weather will not prove conducive to the fire's further spread.
This evening/early morning tomorrow shall reveal if we're going to be safe (for a little longer?) or if we need to run for it.

Thanks Avron!
Today I went to the meeting at the temp agency and now I'm sitting anxiously awaiting for my phone to ring in hopes of I'll get the job.
Today is an exciting day. Later I'll go to my old classmate's house and drink beer (that's gonna be good).

I hope you and everyone nearby is safe, Dan-Ru. Keep us posted lest we worry about you!
And Hippie, have some patience. When I was with a temp agency, it was a few months before they called me with an actual job - I had almost forgotten about them. But it pays off! Just keep looking. Something will come your way!

I've been recovering from a night of heavy drinking with some tea and Morrowind. Plus I have a very stuffed up nose, thanks to my allergies.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Got hit on in the most awkward way at the club yesterday, and was probably way nicer than I should have been.
I walk off the dancefloor, and someone motions to friends that he's going to pursue me. I walk downstairs and am being followed. I refuse to run at this point, just go by at my usual pacing, and I'm still being followed. I head outside in the cold without my jacket, about to start a nice brisk jog to my car, and he pokes my shoulder and tries to freeze me into conversation.
I keep hinting that it's cold and I don't want this attention. Several times. Most would have treated him with scorn well before this point I feel, considering he wasn't even looking out for my health in 15-degree weather. I even mentioned that it was cold and I needed to get home and sleep before work, and he wanted to walk me to my car...

I was given a Nook for Christmas and I have to say, I'm a huge skeptic, but it really is quite awesome. I just now have a Nook for when I travel on the bus and train (which is often) and a book for cozy nights at home. Nothing like it!Caligula wrote:I've been thinking of getting a Kindle, but at the same time I still like holding an actual book. Hmm...

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Well the fire is pretty much contained now. A little furious still on the north side (which is a considerably safer side for it to be doing so). So far no houses or lives lost, apparently one shed went up. For over 8,800 hectares of burnt mountainous terrain nearby towns and to have only livestock losses. Well we got of bloody lucky, and it rained today too. Bonus. =P

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
I'm very glad to hear that, Dan-Ru! It's tragic that livestock perished, although, hopefully, no further damages will occur to either property or living entities.

I might have to look into one of those! Today I got a SICK virus on my PC. It sucked until I figured out I had a trial on my computer for Malwarebytes
. I was so scared since it was a Trojan virus, a.k.a it hacks into your computer and can steal your credit card numbers, passwords, and everything. Thankfully I went into Safe Mode and ran Malwarebytes. I am now happy.
