I don't like the idea of an Elder Scrolls MMO, because I don't like MMO's in general (kill x mobs, get rewarded, kill x mobs, get rewarded, etc...). But exploring Skyrim with friends on Co-op would be neat. But ofcourse, the whole Dragonborn thing would be kinda pointless if your playing with two or three.

An MMO is different from multiplayer. TES Multiplayer would be great for consoles, an MMO would not be TES, but multiplayer in which another player could take on the role of a follower for instance, wouldn't be straying too far from the main series.

A co-op mode wouldn't be bad (and not only for consoles), but a MMO would destroy Skyrim.

Re: Skyrim multiplayer now. And they said it couldn't be don
I've decided that I want co-op. No MMOs please, they don't work for me. But here are my personal reasons why co-op, even with just another person, would be nice.
-You get to show off to someone (lol narcissism). But seriously, this is a game full of awesome and hilarious moments. And unless you're very quick with your video capture, even the most amazing textual recount of something won't compare to the actual moment shared with someone else.
-Skyrim has that feel about it that just cries out for a proper companion. They have a guild named the Companions for crying out loud, and more followers than they've ever done before. What could be better than an actual companion that won't stand around like a lemon, killing the wrong thing or turning on you for accidentally hitting them. Of course, unless you're playing with really trusted friends both of those things could still be an issue.
-It's never been done before. Seriously, what kind of adventure game with the kind of scale that Skyrim has is out there on the market. Is there any game where you can pick up a friend, break into someone's house, steal all their potted plants because you want to, then run for the hills with the guards in hot pursuit? You could be like the Viking Bonnie and Clyde! But no, online interaction seems to be limited to shooting each other in the face or putting up with hundreds of other people all crowding around you. I'm reasonably confident that since they've come so far without even access to the creation kit, that this could be possible.
The mod's clearly heading down the MMO route, though. The only good point I can think of for that would be if you found a really good RP server with proper moderation and people who care about the game, then you could have some good fun with player-generated quests, mock wars etc. But that will be the island in the sea of crap. I hope someone takes it upon themselves to try for the (easier?)co-op route. Perhaps just two players, though four would be good because I do actually have more than one friend who plays Skyrim.
