I picked up a trumpet when I was 9, and I've been playing ever since, so...12 years for that. I've been playing guitar for just about 3 years now, rhythm only, because I can't improvise a melody to save my soul, and I'm looking at getting an electronic drumset eventually (tm).
I have a PRS SE Singlecut in tobacco sunburst and an amp I'm frankly ashamed of, and I've played the same trumpet since I first started. Very basic student Yamaha. Some day, when I have money, I'll get a nice, high-end Bach...some day.

My main guitar is a USA made Fender Jazzmaster reissue. I don't like the fact that it's a reissue, but at the time the reissues were the only high-end Jazzmasters available. Apparently there's a high-end non-reissue Jazzmaster available now, for which they've finally fixed everything that's been wrong with it since its release in the late '50s. Anyway, it sounds great and that's why I bought it.
My amp is a Vox AC30. All tube, baby! This is actually exactly the same guitar+amp combo that Tom Verlaine from Television used, though I didn't know that when I bought them.
My acoustic is a Takemine EF261SAN.
I also have two other electric guitars and a classical acoustic guitar laying around. None of them are chep instruments, but I don't play them very much.

I don't really know about it's BMI... but it's 19th century

Been playing piano for... I lose count... about 15 years now? Wow I'm old... I taught myself most of it, and haven't really bothered much with the theory. Also I rarely find the discipline to practice a piece to perfection. I just play what I see on the sheet and don't normally care about the mistakes, which are mostly due to lack of concentration since they mostly turn up at different points each time I play.

I'm learning guitar, I've been playing in on and off for a year (Though I'm trying to actually practice and get better now), and I've been playing Alto Sax for about 4-5 years. I also trying singing a little. I like to think I'm okay at it

I've played guitar and bass for a while now, and I'm thinking of broadening my horizons by learning to drum (I've dabbled before) and sing. Something else would be electronic music. I've been looking into sequencers, synthesizers (I can play basic piano so no problem there) and drum machines. I do a lot so I'm interested in multimedia art n such.
I love the drums, but I'm not very skilled at them. I can keep simple beats though or punk rhythms. Also I DJ, which I guess turntables can be used as an instrument sometimes.
Good-bye crappy guitar, hellooooooooo beautiful mandolin. I can now officially join this topic. YES!
Still pretty new. I know all the major notes on all five strings and am moderately slow at note reading/playing. But I have made a determined effort to put at least one hour every day behind the stringed lady to ensure I can play all those awesome Italian and Irish folks songs by Christms of 2012.
