Re: Do you want the empire to reform?
Yes and no, i want it to "reform" in the sense of the Nords taking it down, and building it back up.
start a "new empire" as this one is gone and to many things to fix IMO

Re: Do you want the empire to reform?
Part of me wants to see a radical change, so I'd say no. I would not like to see the Imperial Empire reform.
However, with that being said, Skyrim already put forth a fairly influential change on the status quo of the Empire, so I wouldn't be disappointed with its reformation. Its been changing since the end of the Septim bloodline, anyways.

I like it where it is now. Maybe have (parts of) Skyrim succeed. Going back to a single mannish Empire controlling all of Tamriel would be boring.

Re: Do you want the empire to reform?
Personally, I've always liked the idea of the Imperial Empire. Having a common purpose to link people together across national/province lines is a strong statement.
But the Empire of the Septims was quite focused on conquest, as they always must be (for that is the way of the Empires), and overruled the native cultures of each province, hoping to establish a common link through commerce, culture, thinking - you know, that sort of thing. So I wouldn't mind seeing an Empire, led by whoever, that sort of does a tolerance of each province's uniqueness so long as they pay their taxes. But that would be awfully boring indeed, and if real life is any evidence, nationalism trumps an empire every time.
The Empire as we knew it was really in turmoil for a while. It has to go through this period of strife, confusion, and brokenness before anything can be reestablished - and who knows what it will be. The Empire as it exists will reform, but they may not be the dominating force. We shall have to wait and see.

Re: Do you want the empire to reform?
That depends.
If I'm in charge, sure! Talos was a Dragonborn from Skyrim, I'm a Dragonborn from Skyrim, Thalmor can't complain about people worshiping me, since I'm not Talos- it'd be perfect!
But if I don't get to be Emperor, then screw it. Burn it all down! The best government is that which governs the least, and a self-aggrandizing, monolithic totalitarian state is not exactly the setup most conducive to free peoples and free societies. Especially when that Empire is centered upon and takes most of it's values from the posh, dribbling Nibenean milquetoasts.

Re: Do you want the empire to reform?
I personally want the Empire to crumble and completely collapse
. The Empire of Man has been in control for too long and now look at them: fighting each other over beliefs and with only three provinces left in the Empire (or two, depending on Skyrim). The elves have proved themselves more than adequate to reclaim what was taken from them all those hundreds of years ago. Yes, the elves are proud/ arrogant, but this means that they would not hesitate when it comes to leadership and battle.
The Empire has also pretty much admitted that it is scared of the Aldmeri Dominion by signing the White-Gold Concordat and backing down. And, whether you like it or not, the Dominion 'won' the war. They have successfully outlawed Talos worship and are in a great strategic position. On top of that, they also took the capital of the Empire.
May the Dominion last a thousand years!

For the glory of the Aldmeri Dominion!
Re: Do you want the empire to reform?
yes! I want to see it as powerful as the old days. When it respected Skyrim, when it respected Hammerfell, when it respected Talos. I want they to stand up against the tyrannical Dominion and disband the Concordat and recognize Talos as a God, which he is. The Thalmor are almost like the Nazi in the way they drag off Talos-worshippers. Not fully like them but close.

Re: Do you want the empire to reform?
You can not 'Reform' an Empire - As the Empire is based on Conquest, Subjugation of the other peoples and endorsing the dominant ethnicity. Either through Progroms to remove others from political power, or flat out genocide.
So; how would we make the empire reform? Go to the Emperor and say "Hey, we wanna have change!".
Remember in Russia - how the workers got the Duma and it was used AGAINST them? As well being shot in the Winter Palace prior to the Bolshevik Revolution.
I want the Empire dismantled and Destroyed, as well as the Thalmor.
If a Great War was to happen again with the Empire and the Thalmor? It must be noted that let's say the Empire wins; what next? The Empire now has a stronger regime and army, so such a 'Reform' or even Revolution won't come out as easily when at war.
The Empire must Lose the War in order for there to be Change - as well as the people of the Empire revolting against the Empire. As the Empire and Thalmor are much like the Russian Empire and Imperial Europe. Battling for dominancy of who will become the de facto ruler of the world.

It wouldn't be the same Empire. It's be a Fourth Empire. We technically already have that but it's much smaller than the Third.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

Re: Do you want the empire to reform?
This should really be in TES General... it's nothing to do with Lore.
Regardless, I'll throw my two cents in. I want the Empire to reform, but I don't think it can. In a perfect world, the Empire would change it's ways, rally the people of Tamriel against the Thalmor, and vanquish tyranny in Tamriel forever. HOWEVER, that's about as likely as Alduin popping up behind the Dovahkiin after Skyrim ends and devouring Sera. So, what I'd like to happen in a best case scenario is that the Empire and the Thalmor fight it out. Meanwhile, the recently liberated Nords (non-canon, but whatevs), the Redguards and dissenters from Valenwood join up, and plot in secret. At the end of the war, the Thalmor are victorious, as was inevitable, but greatly weakened from the prolonged combat. At this point, the Redguards, the dissenters and the Nords rise up. The Redguards attack from the sea, attack Cyrodiil, and the Southern Flank of Valenwood. The dissenters attack from within Valenwood, and within the Summerset Isles. The Nords attack High Rock, and Cyrodiil. The Thalmor, in their weakened state, are defeated, and Tamriel is free from any Empire... for the moment.

If by "reform" you mean, "go away, and stop invading foreign lands and subjugating the inhabitants under some cockamamie notion of 'saving them from themselves'", then, yes

I say down with the Empire, I'd like to see a new power control Tamriel, for better or worse.
A non Man run power would be good, a beast race run one would be even better, but completely unlikely.

Re: Do you want the empire to reform?
Define 'reform'. I don't see the current Empire as 'evil' or in need of replacement, nor do I see the situation in the Empire as that bad, even after the Concordat the Empire was peaceful and prosperous by many accounts, at least Skyrim was until their began talk of civil uprising.
I think if the Empire wants to stand a chance against the Dominion then it needs to solve its Ulfric issues, regain its backbone and rebuild its Legions, before reunifying the races of Men, but as such, no, I'm not too unhappy with the Empire, I'm more unhappy with what would occur if the Empire was removed from the picture, chaos would ensue as it is already doing in Stormcloak run Skyrim.

Re: Do you want the empire to reform?
As a Breton Legion Officer, I'd say yes.
But as an Elder Scroll player, I'd have to say no. Having all these wars and battling factions makes a better story in my opinion. Plus It would take something MASSIVE for that to happen , seen as only Cyrodiil and High Rock are the only functioning Empire provinces right now.

How can anyone lead an Empire without an Emperor? I don't see any possible way of reforming the Empire when the last of the Septims has died.

Re: Do you want the empire to reform?
-An empire doesn't require an "emperor" as such just an absolut leader. In that since im relating titus mede taking the throne to Napoleon (a corsican) taking the french throne and declaring himself emperor.
-Also the "Empire" is a cyrodillic empire. The alessian, reman and septim dynatsies were all cyrodillic based empires. One of the shortcomings of this empire (much like russia) was the burden of maintaining unity and continued unity of nine provinces of 10 diffrent races, in which lie different sub divisions. The current empire (assuming its similar to the septim empire) is like the 1st model of the roman republic/ senate where a semi-absolut leader is part of a ruling body dominated by the cyrodillic aristocracies.
Reform would mean -the independence of all provinces -laws preventing monopolization by imperial factions (EEC)
-the autonomy of smaller states (the reach, orsinium) -laws ending the inheritance of titles and power
-gurantee of rights to citzens and right to vote in elections for
governing bodies representing the majority ( eg voting in member of the Elder council)

Re: Do you want the empire to reform?
I think the Empire has to 'reform' to defeat the Aldmeri Dominion. But, what will happen after the final war between the Empire and Thalmor? Or say the Empire doesn't rebuild, and the Thalmor end up being defeated by the individual provinces? That leaves no ruling power over Tamriel and, in my opinion, would lead to complete chaos. But if the Empire does try to rebuild, what would they even rebuild on? There are no more Septims and Titus Mede is gone and I doubt there will be an heir capable to replace him. I think the only hope then would be the Dragonborn. The Septims were Dragonborn, so the Dragonborn would be the best leader.
