philter of the phantom/headless horseman
Ok, so we all know that you can try to talk to the headless horseman but he doesn't have much to say.
has anyone tried to talk to him while ethereal (from the shout) or under the effects of the philter of the phantom?

Thats an interesting idea...I haven't. Someone should try this! I doubt it will produce anything new, but still.

Re: philter of the phantom/headless horseman
He runs around and takes you somewhere if you folow him- but I think there is more to him. I think that if you try to initiate conversation with him under certain circumstances- you can get help put him to rest. It might be nothing- but I had a dream about it last night- and it makes sense.
here is what I did-
I found a head at a location that he is assocoiated with-I took the philter, shouted to be ethereal and gave the head to him. then a dungeon opened up and it was lots of killing. Of course this was all dream.
The horseman can't harm or be harmed because he is ethereal- so it stands to reason that if you are ethereal too you would be in the same state of being as he is. and if you have his head, it would be too.

Re: philter of the phantom/headless horseman
He's just chillin', watching the [&@%!] and trolling villagers.
I don't know, though, I want to say the extent of his appearances is following him to his grave, or burial site maybe. I don't think he has a full-on quest or anything.
EDIT: Just saw Ethandrul's post. That would pretty amazing if your dream came true.

Might be a good DLC quest, if nothing else.

For sure. I would love to see Bethesda expand his story, no matter how briefly.

Re: philter of the phantom/headless horseman
He keeps falling off his horse in my game. It was cool the first time I saw him, riding around all ghostly and spooky and stuff, but now? You see his horse running down the road, then a minute later, this headless dude sprinting to catch up. STOP HORSE! COME BACK!
Totally ruins the mood.

Re: philter of the phantom/headless horseman
Ok, So i tried this last night and the horseman did not show up. I waited for 3 days at the graveyard. I did clear the gaveyard already- so I don't think I will ever see him again.
I really hope someone gives this a try

You should have paused the game and put on the Benny Hill music. Then the mood would have been ruined in the best way EVAR!DorostheConqueror wrote:He keeps falling off his horse in my game. Re: philter of the phantom/headless horseman
I ran around after him on foot just now, lol. Just managed to catch up, then we reached Whiterun where I had a horse. He was nice enough to wait for me, then when a "thief" attacked me, again, he stopped and waited until I got back on my horse. Ran into a conjurer or what (I didn't stop to find out), with a Flame Atronach, he didn't wait this time but murmured something about "such an abomination..."
Looted the graveyard. There's a spare skull beside that helm in front of the side sarcophagus he disappeared to, maybe that's his.
Damn, I dropped everything when I noticed him. I used to see him all the time at first but I didn't feel like following, now I haven't seen him for a week. Maybe that's why he now waited for me to catch up?
Is there anything mentioned about Hamvir anywhere? And how do you get the horse? Only if he falls off?

Re: philter of the phantom/headless horseman
You can talk to him? I haven't managed to even catch him yet. I spent a good hour or so chasing him down, then finally gave up. I even tried shooting him, but I guess that doesn't work so well, huh?
Oh for the love of little green tomatoes...

Re: philter of the phantom/headless horseman
At night, at random points. I met him around Helgen once (south path down there), randomly in the Reach, and this last time somewhat east of Whiterun, almost under Windhelm. He should go around Whiterun every night, no? (as that's close his destination)
Edit: but I haven't seen him for a very long time before that, only at the beginning of the game. He either has a set path for each night or just randomizes, and I might not go that way when he does, I don't know.
