Finally saw them this November. Although it was in our freaking hockey coliseum, and since I very rarely buy tickets in advance, well I got owned and had to see the show seated. Plus the sound was [&@%!] Oh well, it's freaking Judas Priest, I heard Rob Halford scream "we're never SATISFIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEED!" and "Victims of changeeeaaaas!" once in my life, so it's closer to completion. Plus the obligatory "get on stage with on a motorbike" hehe. And is it me, or the new guitarist seems more excited than every other member? It's kinda weird, he's like 20 years younger, the guy must be like "holy hell I'm playing for Judas Priest!" while all the others are more like "ah let's get on with it". They played the classics, some songs I wanted to hear like "Never Satisfied" from Rocka Rolla and "Sentinel" from Defenders of the Faith.
He nailed it all! Amazing voice for a 60-year old!

I was kind confused to hear "Never Satisfied" 'cause I wasn't a fan of Rocka Rolla. But I know I'm more than happy to see them.

Rocka Rolla is definetely the best Judas Priest album.

I couldn't be more serious. Although I'm a former huge fan of Judas Priest I always disliked that their image took over their musicianship. I mean look at an early picture of Judas Priest. They are wearing clothes. Look at them in the 80's they look like George Michael. Listen to an album like "Turbo" they are playing glam.

No, Rocka Rolla that is real rock.

It's strange you like them when they played Rock. Because most people remember them when the played Metal. All albums from Sad Wings Of Destiny to British Steel, Screaming For Vengeance, Defenders Of The Faith & Painkiller are considered pure essential Metal.

But I like Rocka Rolla here and there (Run Of The Mill is in fact a masterpiece).

I wouldn't consider Sad Wings as metal. It's more like proto metal. Like Black Sabbath. They will never be playing metal. It's just really heavy hard rock.

Well, I consider Sabbath to be more Hard Rock. But it's your opinion and I respect it.

I've seen numerous small Hardcore bands like Know The Score, Kids Like Us, Terror, Make or Break (R.I.P.), Donnybrook, etc.

My first concert ever was Slayer at the Hard Rock Live in Orlando, so memorable. :Twisted Evil:
In 2005 I saw Motley Crue at the Ice Palace in Tampa for their Carnival of Sins Tour.

I've also attended a few festivals like Sounds of the Underground where I saw Madball, Gwar, Lamb of God, and a good dozen more.
As well as the Vans Warped Tour which I totally hated except for Avenged Sevenfold & The Transplants.

That would be sludge or doom metal.

Not that this is a discussion of genres, no Black Sabbath is definitely not sludge, sludge is like Melvins and Bongzilla.
Yes, they are doomy and yes they have som of the earliest doom metal tracks known, but they were not the only ones to play that kind of heavy rock at the time. Pentagram played hard rock with the same kind of riffage as well, so did Bang, so did November (swe) etc. etc.
They are not doom metal or sludge. They influenced it, but that does not mean they played it. Although I do agree on the whole Iommi created metal theory.

Edit: Why the f*ck does it censor "r-i-f-f-a-g-e" ?

Most of the bands I've seen probably wouldn't ring any bells to anyone who wasn't into the British indie scene of the late 80's early 90's like Pop Will Eat Itself, the Wonderstuff and Ned's Atomic Dustbin, all of whom did reunion gigs in the past two years or so that I went to. I used to go to a lot of festivals back then and saw some amazing line ups with the likes of Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Dinosaur Jr, The Beastie Boys...it would just be a huge and fairly random list.

Last time I posted I had seen Bloc Party and Mogwai. Since then I have seen This Will Destroy You, Explosions in the Sky, Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra, and I've got tickets for This Will Destroy You (again) in February. I was supposed to go see Mark Kozelek but he ended up cancelling.

 I saw all three on the same line up at Reading Festival (UK) in 1991, it was just before Nirvana released Smells Like Teen Spirit over here so they weren't anywhere near the headlining act and mostly played stuff from Bleach. At the end Kurt goes, "We're gonna play you something off our new album" and launched into Teen Spirit which was just brilliant.
Iggy Pop headlined that day...he is so very, very bizarre!

God I would have killed to be there! My jealously is increasing by the minute reading this. I wish bands like that played these days!

I do feel really lucky to have seen some of the festival line ups I have, really good times musically speaking. The only band that I adore that I didn't get to see at that time were Jane's Addiction...some day!!

Yes I am getting one back! I saw Janes Addiction a couple of years ago. They did a pretty amazing set, and played 'Jane Says' (easily my favourite song by them) so I was very happy.

Ahhhhh, no way!!! Ok, we're quits in my book :D I love Jane Says, have you heard the version with the kettle drums? I think though, just beating Jane Says to my number one JA song is Summertime Rolls - amazing track.

I live in rural Australia so I don't really get the chance to see a lot of bands live. :x

The ones I have seen:
Alice Cooper
Silverchair
Powderfinger
Queens of the Stone Age
So say we all.
