Re: DLC Speculation
I hope they do a DLC that explores Shors story( seeing how its Skyrim home of the nords, the sterotypical men with sterotypical Lorkhan loving beliefs, seems only right they should do something abot Shor) and some of the true Nordic gods, I was very disapointed that the Nords seem to worship mainly the Nine/Eight Divines in Skyrim. And then a DLC that explores more of the lore on the Dragonborn, maybe even his realtions to Shezarr if there are any, instead of just him and his relation to the return of the dragons. I think Skyrim is an awesome games but lore wise it disapointes me in everything but the new Dragon and Thalmor vs. Empire lore.
They seriosuly could of elaborated on the Greybeards more, I mean thier voice was suposed to destroy entire villages. And what happened to the Nords loving Kyne and believing thier children of the Sky and all.

Re: DLC Speculation
From all the talk of visiting Daedric planes for DLC, it got me thinking about how I want to visit Molag Bal's Cold Harbour. The quest story could be about you going to rescue someone in Cold Harbour, like how Point Lookout in Fallout 3 started out. And then it could escalate into so much more and you could decide to join Molag or help the prisoners.
Also, they might just do something with Cold Harbour, because of the extra landmass they have for
Tamriel... As we know Cold Harbour is a copy of Nirn except desolate and destroyed, maybe they already made the landmasses to work off of.
I don't know, just speculation as the title says.

Re: DLC Speculation
You are not going to get that. It's because there is lots of dialogue (and some quests) in the game that assume the Dwemer are gone. I'm sure Beth doesn't want to rework existing content to fit new stuff in.Reizoko13 wrote:I would *really* like to see a return to the Dwemer, even though I know the chances of that are astronomically slim.

Beth. has never elaborated on where the Dwemer went, how they disapeared, or what happened to them really, so its not that far fetched. But not gonaa happen anytime soon I think

Apparently they turned to ash...at least their bodies, if you do the quest 'arniels endeavor ' you see in his experiment to recreate the dissaperance, he becomes a shade while his body is disintegrated.Anonymous98223 wrote:Beth. has never elaborated on where the Dwemer went, how they disapeared, or what happened to them really, so its not that far fetched. That's why only Arngeir can speak, because the others have not attain full mastery of their voices, and thus cannot speak without wreaking destruction across Skyrim. But yeah, I agree, all that beautiful Kyne lore got chucked out the window for DragonsAnonymous98223 wrote:They seriosuly could of elaborated on the Greybeards more, I mean thier voice was suposed to destroy entire villages. Re: DLC Speculation
The graybeards all call out to you during the game from the mountain, however the nearby villages didn't have to evacuate when they spoke like previous lore had stated and no signs of destruction where present. But maybe these graybeards are younger and less powerful ones then those alive at the time of Tiber. And what happened to the tongues?? There's no mention of them in skyrim. And kyne isn't even present in skyrim, the old Nordic gods seem have been replaced by the nine divines. Beth really needs to stop watering there lore and gameplay down. Still and amazing game thou.

Re: DLC Speculation
I agree, the Kyne mythos was destroyed by the Drgaons, posibly because Dragons sounded 'cooler'. And it's always annoyed me that the Stormcloaks fight for Talos when Ysmir, not Talos, is the Nordic god
I can sort of explain why the events of the mainquest are not as you suggest though, even though you are right. I sort of explain it away as the Dovakiin absorbing their power preventing it from causing harm, but yeah, when Talos came to High Hrothgar a totally different story is depicted. Bethesda altered the Lore a bit to sell the game I guess, which isn't a totally heinous thing, but it still 'hurts' nonetheless.

Talk to an old fart by the name of Froki about Kyne. It's not much, but you can't say there's no presence of Kyne in Skyrim.Anonymous98223 wrote:And kyne isn't even present in skyrim, the old Nordic gods seem have been replaced by the nine divines. my guess for the kyne situation is the oblivion crisis and the 200 years afterward skyrim must of had a cultural shift from kynerath and the old way's to talos and the nine probably stemming from martin's sacrifice and the aftermath, i don't know about you but i would like to see some of this stuff explain in the dlc

Orsinium would seem like a good place for DLC to explore. It's on the border of Skyrim. I think a giant city full of Orcs would be cool. I would like to see more of that iconic city.

Re: DLC Speculation
I want to play a DLC that clears the Thalmor out of Skyrim. I'm convinced that these guys have too much power.
Re: DLC Speculation
Sorry if this has already been posted here, but someone posted this on Reddit a while back. I thought it was a great idea. If its just a DLC why would they do an entire province? A DLC is smaller then an expansion pack or a full game and shouldnt cover a full province. Heres one about Blacklight in Morrowind: http://i.imgur. com/s3mbz.jpg
There are 4 political goals, one for the natives (Dunmer obviously and other residents of Blacklight), Stormcloak (could be eliminated if player won the civil war for the imperials), Imperials (want control of the Ebony trade and the province in general), and Argonian who want to take it over. If say the Stormcloaks were eliminated like i mentioned earlier, maybe the 4th goal could be for the Thalmor to gain an alliance with the Dunmer being a race of mer. I think its a great idea.

We're talking about expansions here as well, not just smaller DLC. Besides, Beth said that the DLC and expansions are going to be alot more substantial, so even a part of a province could be a DLC idea.

Re: DLC Speculation
Yea thats what I said, that blacklight idea is for a DLC. That portion of Morrowind would be very substantial. But I'm just saying for a full province, I'd hope theyd do an entire game for it. Part of a province or a huge city (like Mournhould) seems very substantial for an EP or DLC. I'm hoping for each of the provinces to get its own TES game, it just adds to the world and lore of TES so much more. 3 down so fardrumgodrob wrote: We're talking about expansions here as well, not just smaller DLC. DLC=Expansion, just different terms (although fallout's constant 'dlc's' made the word so it is now synonymous with another quest-line).ADP101 wrote:Yea thats what I said, that blacklight idea is for a DLC. I like this idea a lot to be honest, I really would like to see how the whole Argonian Invasion thing went over and it'd be cool to get a better taste of their culture since the only thing we really know about them comes from a single book. Problem with this is, all Elder Scrolls games tend to have a 'mythic' aspect to every major questline (excluding guilds) notice how in each game it's always a prophecy or return of some demonic force. I feel this is the only game where politics have mattered with the Civil War questline.
Morrowind was political too in the house quests, though again the main focus was on Dagoth Ur, and it's expansions dealt with Daedra and ending the Tribunal. So maybe the next one will not be involving politics (although I prefer them since it allows for grey morality, sick of all the 'you're a hero, only do Good for others').
Re: DLC Speculation
I'm sure it can be made into a "mythic" story. Savior of the Dunmer, Champion of the Argonian, Thalmor High Justiciar etc. I just want to see a different culture. We're all so used to Imperial and Anglo-Saxon culture. I miss the craziness of the Dunmer culture.Da_BossMaN69 wrote:DLC=Expansion, just different terms (although fallout's constant 'dlc's' made the word so it is now synonymous with another quest-line).ADP101 wrote:Yea thats what I said, that blacklight idea is for a DLC. Re: DLC Speculation
The Dunmer have returned to Morrowind so there could be a story line there because there are a lot of things that could threaten them as they rebuild. Bethesda loves Dunmer and Nords. In Morrowind there were tons of Nords and an expansion about Nords even though it was a game set in Morrowind. In Oblivion there were a lot of Dunmer and quite a few Nords. In Skyrim we've already seen a lot of Dunmer, and it makes sense for there to be an expansion about Dunmer.

And then we see an expansion on Bosmer.
I'd like to have another province of Tamriel, and when all of them are covered, Yokuda or Akavir or whatever.

Which one on Bosmer?
I think Bethesda will do a DLC on Skyrim and another on the Dunmer (maybe on Solstheim or on Skyrim) and maybe a third on a foreign location - maybe a Daedric Realm.

Re: DLC Speculation
What I really want, is an apocalypse DLC. Basically, it's skyrim in the far future, about 1000 years or so, but opression has stopped civillization from progressing. It would be set in skyrim, and the east would be a lava filled wastland, the south would be a huge flat desert, the north would be a frozen wastland, and I mean frozen; a flood from the sea of ghosts would of covered the place in water, but the water froze over. And the east would be a massive overgrown forest/jungle. The reason for this wasteland is that lord dagon or perhaps a new enemry has somehow returned and conquered nirn, but the occupants of nirn have fought back and overthrow this enemy. All that remains is the last of his minons to be wiped out. However, you have a choice. Defend humanitiy from opression, or aide this new enemy, and become and evil twisted monster yourself. I personally thinkcthis is a great idea, because the Elder Scrolls series lets you be good or evil, but it keeps you within reasonable borders. I think it's time to push those boders to the extreme; to create a hero that single handedly saves nirn, or destroys it and commits unspeakable atrrocities.
Now, here are the four enviorments in detail:
1: The volcanic wasteland is full of charred trees. No cities here, at least on the surface. Instead, they can be found underground. If you were to enter one of these cities, you would find a mini version of blackreach, complete with people. The caves would be huge, and large streams of lava would flow onder bridges blackend by volcanic ash. Just imagine markarth, but underground, and lava instead of water.
2: The desert would be wide and vast, with the occasional sandstorm imparing your view. The cities would be few and far between, and they would be simple camps and settlements, among the half buried ruined city walls. Supplies would be scarce here.
3: The frozen wasteland. Not much here, except the odd surface camp. However, if you where to travel to, say winterhold, you would find a shaft leading down to the college. Yes, the mages found a way to survive the flood, and built a tunnel to the surface, allowing their people to survive. However, other town's such as dawnstar didn't survive. If you where to look down, beneath the tall sheet of ice, you would see the town, and the frozen bodies of the citizens of winterhold, forever preserved in a look of terror.
4: The jungle. Markarth, and other cities would be long deserted, but not destroyed. You could vist them perhaps, and who knows what you may find here. The forest floor is deadlt, however, and beasts, such as bears, werewolves and vampires roam it. Sactuanry can only be found the the treetops, where the people of Skyrim have build huge treehouses, safe from the beasts below.
So that about wraps it up. This is my idea of a dream DLC, although it's probably not going to happen. The enemies in this DLC would be much together, and the emphises on survival.
