Who would you worship, in a world of Daedra?
Who would you worship, in a world of Daedra?
It seems everyone in ES has decided to make someone or something - be it Daedric Prince, ascended men, etc. - their patron God or Goddess for some reason or another; be it personal philosophy, personal gain, or genuine reverence.
Knowing what we know, if you lived in the ES universe, who would you build your shrine to, and why?

Patron is Hircine. Other dieties would be Meridia, Azura, and Nocturnal.

Neither Daedra or Divines, but Vivec. Or if it was after the red year then the dwemer gods of Reason and Logic.
Do you mind? I'm doing the fishstick. It's a very delicate state of mind.

Without considering their benefits or the rites that would be associated with their worship, probably Meridia, and/or Lady Dibella.Huntershound wrote:I'm curious to hear your own choices, Squiver.

Re: Who would you worship, in a world of Daedra?
BUMP: I feel bad about doing this but I believe this discussion should have more replies and be given another chance to grow. I'm very interested in learning the ideas and preferences of not only the characters but also how the players view themselves in TES universe. I.e. I follow the old ways and stand beneath the Horned god. Hircine is a representation of the Horned god in TES universe so I list him as primary then as the goddess is essential to the world itself I found Meridia, Azura, and Nocturnal fitting the triple goddess aspect. Eagerly awaiting further comments.

Re: Who would you worship, in a world of Daedra?
If it has to be a Daedra, it might as well be Meridia. She seems focused on ridding Tamriel of undead and necromancers, which is not at all an evil profession, even if it's a bit short sighted and black and white morality.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

It's a choice between Sanguine and Sheogorath for me. I like what both of them stand for.

Hermaeus Mora for me. I consider knowledge to be the most powerful and most valuable thing in any world and any situation and knowledge is what Hermaeus stands for. He/she/it also keeps to him/her/itself more than other Daedric Princes and still has a great sense of humour (Hermaeus tried to seduce the Nords into becoming elves once). So yeah, Hermaeus Mora all the way.

Just realized that the Aedra was included. Kyne, Dibella, and Mara are all worthy of fellowship but there is just something about the "Ancestors" that makes weary.Squiver wrote:Without considering their benefits or the rites that would be associated with their worship, probably Meridia, and/or Lady Dibella.Huntershound wrote:I'm curious to hear your own choices, Squiver.

Hircine, in all my games, my starter character is akin to a hunter; so it only makes sense.

Re: Who would you worship, in a world of Daedra?
Talos, as someone who is in real life descended from Viking stock. I guess in The ES universe I'd be a Nord, though more likely a mixed race Nord & Breton & as Talos has links to both countries he'd be my personal choice. He was a great warrior who ascended to godhood a true Nord patron. Even Vivec had to bow down to him.
I used to be an adventurer, but then I broke my GF's IPhone 4 & she mutilated me in a rather personal manner

I would worship Nocturnal to keep me safe in the shadows. Hircine to aid me whilst I hunt, in human or wolf form. And Azura to give me insight of my future, and to guide others in their future.

Azura, Azura is a good god who actually cares about her followers

Akatosh, god of Time. Represesents invinceability and Endurance, not bad traits to have. And then Azura, but only if Akatosh for some reason couldnt give insight on the future.

I made my own pantheon in an earlier thread but if I had to pick one... maybe Mephala? There's just something deliciously dirty about her.
