Wolfies who told you the horn is a bad ass weapon, its just a relic you were sent to get to test your dragonborn powers. What would the thalmor want with it lolWolfie wrote:Yes she took the Horn becuse she was unsure if you really where the Dragon born, its not like the dragon born is the ONLY one who can kill dragon.Because I was sent to get the horn and it was not there, but I got a lead? For all I know, I could just go to that inn, ask for the room, kill whoever responds and go on my merry way with the horn
Well #1 the bandits are named and they atack you, she dose not, thats a good starting pointWhat I could not do was NOT go after the damn horn if I wanted to continue with the quest. Suppose someone knows about your top secret stuff and put obstacles in your way... you realize who they were, tell me, HOW many times in this game did you kill people like that? "go to this cave and get my sword/hat/lucky coin back, I dropped it around that area, waaaay back in the second era". You go there, find a bunch of bandits, kill them before you even bothered to find out if they took the item, because you're just impatient and they're just disposable, no? Then loot the corpses and often you don't even find the thing you were searching for, you have to go all the way to the back of the cave and find it in some remote chest. How is Delphine special in this?
She took the Horn, but I think it was a smart move, she thgout at the time, that the Thalmor where behined it, you do NOT want them getting it do you?
She took it to keep it safe so the Thalmor (who she thgout was behined it) would not get to it, then she gave it to you.Or let's go real life: you go to pick up a Very Important Package of Doom you got and you find it's not there, but there's a letter: Hey, I wanna help you with stuff you don't even know about yet, come to this town on the other side of the map and ask for movie tickets in this hospital! If you, for whatever reason are crazy enough to go (just as the Dovahkiin can't exactly send the police), and some random chick gave you your original package then declared that SEE, now you can trust me!, well... I wouldn't.
Yeah, I trust her a bit then
And yet you trust Grtay beards who wont let you see their leader in till your reddy, dont do any fighting with you, teach you things you can do by your self (learn words)
and even then the blades are the ones who first told me about the man shout, so with out them i would never know and even then, the gray bearfs did not want to give it to you
So guess what? gray bears? yeah they dont trust you either, after all they did they dont trust you either and they WANT the world to end.
Some can say they "just dont care" but IMO thats worse

is it okay to not care if someone destys our world?
I would say no.

He never does this once in the game, he has never gotten up to fight anyone but Alduin (and that was because he came to kill the two of you), he's still a being a prick for sitting ontop of his mountain and not fighting. Anyone can be brave when they're staring death in the face and have to fight, but not when it's a choice, not only that, but he has comfort in knowing he's fighting with the dragonborn so for that reason he'll be more bold.azabranth wrote: Lol do you anything of the lore paathurnax does kill random dragons because he cant absorb theirs souls and thats the only way to permanently kill a dragon, notice helps you fight alduin at throat of the world, that shows me that regular divagations would be easy as cream for him, and the reason he waited on throat of the world is because that's where the time rift is. He's content to just watch the whole world burn while he gets sent to mundus (dragons are immortal so I'm assuming like daedra they go back to the plane they came from).
And the time rift excuse is b.s. Clearly he's off flying all over the place since he has to land the first time he sees you. He'sa 50 ft long beast that is flying in the air. He can probably see everything from up there and he doesn't notice Alduin ripping Helgen a new one? So rather than help them out he simply decides to let it burn down?

I'm loving the "completely one side or the other" nature of this thread. Someone tell me I'm not the only one that can see and understand both sides of this. Killing him is a reasonable action, as is letting him live.
To those who reason it out, it all boils down to your opinion. Have his actions in your aid and his millennia of meditation morally mitigated the destruction he wreaked during Al-duin's last reign, even if his motive was ultimately selfish? After such a long time, is it even a question of justice anymore? Bethy designed it to be entirely justifiable either way, as they seem to love doing.
This thread is full of fanatics.
Edit: Removed "tl;dr:". My post was originally a long rant but I cut a lot of things out before posting and forgot about it. >.>

obviously this thread and the quest behind are not one sided however the only reason i do so is because of the reasons i've listed, its called an opinion, just because it's geared to be neutral doesn't mean you have to be.

Re: To kill or not to kill (MQ spoilers!!)
You mustave missunderstood because of my many typos. Again, he doesn't fight regular dragons because it would be a waste of time he can't permanently kill them. Only the dragonborn can do that by absorbing their souls. And the reason he's on top of the mountain is to protect the time mound (the only location to learn dragonwrend) that and he knows its where alduin would return. If this doesn't open your eyes I don't know what will. These are all facts stated by alduin paathurnax the three born dragonborns who fought alduin greybeards and many more. And paathurnax also stayed on the mountain because the dragons were being killed off later after the war that was more reason for him to stay away as he needed to be alive to help the dragonborn when alduin returned. Last but not least you asked why he doesn't help in the war if he likes humans, well simply put he hates the idea of dragons ruling humans that's why he fights alduin he knows its wrong at the same time thoh he's not going to but into every human war and play superman or superdragon lol, he believes humans should dictate their own future, and rightfully so.Da_BossMaN69 wrote:He never does this once in the game, he has never gotten up to fight anyone but Alduin (and that was because he came to kill the two of you), he's still a being a prick for sitting ontop of his mountain and not fighting. Re: To kill or not to kill (MQ spoilers!!)
He's a dragon, he has literally nothing to fear from humans knowing his location, and again the time rift thing doesn't make sense because if he's only there to teach the dragonborn dragonrend (which he doesn't even know) and if he's waiting for Alduin to return then why wait on the mountain when both of the people he needs and wants to meet are down at Helgen?
Secondly, It's some what implied that's his attitude. The greybeards almost worship and respect his word, so if they're claiming let nature take it's course because theres nothing you can do chances are that's what he thinks. Also the whole idea of his selfishness comes from the fact that he tells you he is and its the nature of dragons. So I feel its implied. Lastly he and his sycophants act too superior to you and others, they can't say elder scrolls are bad or blasphemy since they've helped save the World through their use.

So far, all of my good characters haven't killed him. He seems to be reformed, and besides, the Blades are honor-less cowards ever since they got their butts kicked by the Thalmor. I don't listen to them anymore. If they were a whole lot cooler, I might then think about taking on the awesomeness that is Paarthurnax.

To get back on topic...
I have two playthroughs, one where I killed him and.one where I didn't.
Killing him made me sad, he didn't fight and seeing him become a skeleton made me tear up a little, also the graybeards call it murderer witch hit a heart string.
I didn't think I would actually like a philosophical dragon, but I did.
His death really wasn't needed for the blades really don't do anything after the end of the mq.
If he really did.change that's just a huge middle finger to the graybeards and the dragonborn.
why we couldn't lie and say he was killed just dumbfounded me. How would they know one way or the other?
