Help me name my Imperial monk.
Help me name my Imperial monk.
I'm terrible at naming characters! Seriously, I just can't do it. At least Imperial names are sort of easy, because they are mostly Roman names. But I would like a name that would fit a monk instead of just something that sounds cool.
Any ideas?

Flavicus Morenius.
There are TES name generators out there that you can select a number between 1-100 and it will generate however many names they come up with some corny ones though lol. Just a tip.

Thelonius. The only proper name for a monk.

Thanks. I will do a search for a generator, though I usually don't have much luck with those.SAMIAM wrote:Flavicus Morenius.

Hehehe. As much as I'd like to name a character after a jazz legend, especially one that sounds imperialish, it would be immersion-breakingDorostheConqueror wrote:Thelonius. The only proper name for a monk.

No lallygaggin', you whippersnappers. Be serious.
Go with something deliciously Roman. My Imperial battlemage is named Lenicus Tullius, for example. Now that's a spiffy name.

Well, considering it's the holiday season, what about Wenceslas? It's a cool name, you'd probably be the first gamer to use it, and it's a latinized (thus Imperial-sounding) version of Vaclav.

Re: Help me name my Imperial monk.
Humilis seems a really good name for a monk to me; it sounds like humility, and was an Imperial name in Morrowind, so it's got some history. Last name, idk.

Bellator Potens.
Re: Help me name my Imperial monk.
I've decided on Decimus (Tenth, in latin), for strong RP reasons. No surname because the character was an orphan. It's perfect!

Re: Help me name my Imperial monk.
Hmm, still one missing piece in my RP. I have never played Oblivion, but I need to know if there are any monasteries in Cyrodiil where a Skyrim character could realistically have been raised in.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Temple of the Ancestor Moths? close to Skyrim (Jerall Mountains) and very secluded and secret.

Re: Help me name my Imperial monk.
Only one I can think of, but the Ancestor Moths are a very secretive and selective faction, so it would have to be played out like that.Musicman247 wrote:Temple of the Ancestor Moths? close to Skyrim (Jerall Mountains) and very secluded and secret.
There are plenty of temples throughout Cyrodiil. Perhaps he was raised by a member of the clergy in the Temple of the One in Bruma, for instance - closest town in Cyrodiil to Skyrim. You can be creative!

What about Weynon Priory, where the heir to the emperor, Martin, was raised?

Re: Help me name my Imperial monk.
Oooh, that seems perfect! The priests could have taken the character in from an orphanage upon realizing that he is Dragonborn (I guess those blind priests would know, being readers of the Elder Scrolls and all). Decimus was the name given to him because he was the 10th Dragonborn taken in by the temple.Musicman247 wrote:Temple of the Ancestor Moths? close to Skyrim (Jerall Mountains) and very secluded and secret.

Instead of a temple, he should be raised by a merry band of outlaws, who steal from the rich and give to the poor.

He should be raised by a bunch of Nerevarine lovers, and he should be the creator of a faction that follows the Nerevarine. Call him Gilvas Barelo!
