I'm pretty sure I pronounce it incorrectly, I pronounce it "All-do'-in".

My brother suggest it is suppost to sound closer to Baldwin...which is quite annoying.

Mortals seem fondest of ALL-doo-in, while the dragons use Marsie's Ahl-du-WEEN.

I always say it the way Sahloknir the dragon from Kynesgrove pronounces it when talking to "Al-do-ween" after being resurrected.

I Figure Alduin's dragon buddy knows his name best.

Parhunax has spoken it. "Al- Doo - En " more of a low e than a i sound to me.

You do realize that Sahloknir's name isn't a Th'uum. Instead of 3 syllabi it's 4. Sal LO Ko Neer

I've always called him 'Grumpy #1', or just plain 'Grumpy'— seeing as the dragons are just a bunch of ill-mannered reptiles stomping about in your playground.
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.

Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

Actually his name is a Thu'um: Sah (Phantom), Lok (Sky), Nir (Hunt)
Funny enough, Sahlo means weak in the Dragon tongue (Weak Hunt without the k)

On tops: I pronounce it Ahl-du-win and consider the 'ween' to be more of a draconic equivalent of an accent that the mortal races don't/can't use

Then why is it pronounced with 4 sylabi than 3? I would believe Salo over Sah for Weak Sky Hunt but Th'uums are supposed to be 3 words 3 syllabi not 4

Load up Dragon Rising and listen to Alduin when he's raising that dragon and you will hear him pronounce it with 4 syllabi

Knir is said as one syllable, while it is weird that he pronounces it as Sal-lo-knir, knir is still a long single syllable like strength or the American pronounciation of Squirreled (Sqworld)

What's your point? Could have just been oversight of voice actors. Maybe it was intended to be pronounced Sah Lok Nir.

But I do get that when it's said in game it sounds like Sahlo-Knir or Sah-Loh-Ka-Nir.

In any case, in game it's pronounced as...
1. Al Due Ween
2. All - dwin (pronounced like Baldwin)
3."All - due - in."

I just prefer the way "Al Due Ween" sounds.

To each their own, but it's clear that no one way can be considered "correct" based solely on the game play.

It sure sounds like "All-due-in" when in the sung in the second verse of the main theme (the line: Paaz Keizaal fen kos stin nol bein Alduin jot!), so I'd think that at least an "accepted" pronunciation, if not the only one.

Clearly, there is one proper way.

Except, you know, more "Alduin".
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.
