Re: DLC Speculation
You know what I was thinking would be cool if for the next dlc they keep it quest/perks/interaction related instead of creating a whole new world, like the KotN.
But instead of just adding another questline they simply add more guilds/factions to join. Some of the top of my head.
-Thalmor (They have more agents than simply Altmers/Bosmers)
-Vigilants
-Synod (Were very sneaky and secretive during the College quests)
-Morag Tong
-Silverhand? (I mean they actually have a good purpose they want to rid the World of the more deadly monsters in Skyrim, plus I want more silver gear)

Though, I'm merely going to say that for the good 4-5 years in between Oblivion and Skyrim. A lot of people predicted that Skyrim would be the next game.OblivionDuruza wrote:Seconded. The beauty of the situation is that Bethesda is sure to pull something beautiful and unexpected out of the hat. Who would have predicted the Shivering Isles? Re: DLC Speculation
That might have been because Bethesda had to buy the rights to the Skyrim IP, giving those who were watching closely a pretty big hint. Plus, I can remember a lot of people who were expecting and hoping for the Summerset Isles, based upon rumours in Oblivion. Predicting what the next game will be is somewhat easier than predicting what new DLC will be, IMO.

think Summerset Isles looks like the Elven realms in War Hammer? That would be pretty cool, giant towers, hot elven chicks, lots of archers and mages everywhere.

You do realize that even in Altmer society, there are farmers and guys who clean the [&@%!] from the horse stables, right? I'm sure it's a beautiful and green country but let's not get carried away.
Besides, as long as the Thalmor control it and it's called Alinor there's not a snowball's chance in Dagon's realm of Oblivion a human or beast person will set foot on its soil alive.
As for Skyrim's expansions, I did notice a theme in Morrowind and Oblivion with the expansions following the main theme of the game. Morrowind's plot was about killing gods and breaking cycles. Its expansions were the same. Oblivion's was about Daedra and Oblivion..both expansions included these things. Logically, if Skyrim follows suit...more dragons? Possibly Akaviri ones?

Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

It's a vital point to make. Bethesda humanizes and adds realism to all its races. It's like Frank Fontaine's dialogue from the first Bioshock game. "Somebody's gotta scrub da toilets." People have this romantic notion that everyone on Summerset is some well heeled mage walking around discussing philosophy, but they're people too. As much as they hate that fact, they're all too mortal.

What if we got both mainland Morrowind AND Moonshadow? They did say the DLC's were going to be alot more substantial, so it can't be ruled out...
I doubt we'll see Vvardenfell at all. Just because almost all sources pointing towards the fact that there's nothing left on the island.

It's hinted that Vvardenfell is gone. Red Mountain and the Ministry of Truth saw to that.drumgodrob wrote:What if we got both mainland Morrowind AND Moonshadow? They did say the DLC's were going to be alot more substantial, so it can't be ruled out...

As far as DLC goes, I'd like to see something involving the Empire as a whole. Such as the crowning of a prince or a usurper (perhaps Dovahkiin him/herself?) I'd also like to see the Forsworn expanded upon, they are indeed formidable enemies and the Jarl of Markarth does have good right to fear them and their Hagraven gods. The Giants deserve something, though I doubt they'll be expanded upon in the foreseeable future. The Thalmor have a good possibility of being in the next expansion as well as the Synod and College of Whispers. The exploration of what is going on in Solstheim would be interesting, such as a new Dunmeri nation and the reformation of the Morag Tong and a Skaal rebellion against the Dunmer (going with the theme of rebellion in Skyrim).

Re: DLC Speculation
I think there may be expansion of skyrim to all directiob expect south.
The situation in high rock is lack of detail . We don't known whether there are still many country or only 2-4 ,but most likely not united. Both stormcloak and imperial legion want to control the west.
After the civil war, imperial legion will want to advance to high rock for unification like skyrim since the problem in skyrim have been solved and forsworn seek independance. For stormcloak, after driven out imperial, the empire don't have land that connected to high rock plus the Forsworn problem, they will most likely attack the rest part of the reach in high rock including the city of evermore and jehanna. If there are a dlc for high rock, i think it is not goin to cross thewrothgarian mountain.
For Solstheim, it is sure that it's population and scale of city will be much much bigger than that in Bloodmoon, since many dunmer escape there.Nord will become a minor race. And the there will be a ruler like duke or king or grandmaster whatever. They will be united.
It may become the place where the liberation of morrowind start. If the imperial win, Elisif the Fair,Brunwulf Free-Winter and Kraldar will help the dunmer to get back some land, but not the imperial since they won't want to fight against other country to make more enemy. If stormcloak win, Ulfric Stormcloak and Korir will try to conquere at least Solstheim and blacklight as nord do from the past.I think the dlc will not consist vvardenfell, mostly consist previous redoran land
For hammerfall, there will only be a very little chance for war. If imperial win, they will not make more enemy. If stormcloak win, because they both worship talos, there will be no reason for either side to start war.If there are conflict , it must be in the city of dragonstar as usual.

Re: DLC Speculation
Yeah, i think there is not much point in going to Vvardenfell. However, i want mainland Morrowind just to see how it's dealt with the eruption of Red Mountain and the Argonian invasion. Plus, Morrowind = more Dwemer ruins!
As for the other provinces... yes, High Rock is also definately possible. It would be great seeing Adamantine Tower, and i think it could be involved in the quest line some way.

There's an identical gate to Cyrodiil in the Pale Pass if you take the road south from Helgen. All it means is that they finally acknowledged inter-provincial travel, unlike in Oblivion where there wasn't a single road anywhere that led to a border.Mattbott wrote:well i was mooching around to the south east of Riften, found the high road and gate to morrowind and reckon it is the odds on favourite dlc

Re: DLC Speculation
@ SAMIAM - Moonshadow is the Daedric Realm of Azura. It's apparently so beautiful it makes mortals half blind!
@ enyamerT - Good point, however i think it will serve more purpose than that because of the fact that most of the other provinces' land is there. If the archway was there just for realism, there would be no need to include all the extra land. Also (don't hold me to this) but isn't the only archway that is open the one leading to Morrowind? Because i remember running into another one, but it was closed.

Re: DLC Speculation
I would *really* like to see a return to the Dwemer, even though I know the chances of that are astronomically slim. Seeing the Psijic Order in more depth would be interesting, but I'm not sure it would be 'large-scale' enough for the DLC they have in mind. More quests with the Forsworn would be nice; I'd honestly rather side with them than the Stormcloaks or Imperials. Seeing Elsweyr or Black Marsh would be nice, too, but I know how unlikely that is.
Also? A return of Chameleon. I love that spell.

Moonshadow, the Plane of Azura, is a twilight country of shades and half-thoughts that is inaccessible from Nirn, although this has not always been the case. It is a giant garden full of roses, holding such beauty that it makes mortals half blind.
You can read more here.Moonshadow is Azura's plane of Oblivion, where she lives in a rose palace. It is reportedly blindingly beautiful and colorful, with flowers, waterfalls, trees, and a city of silver.
Personally, it sounds just stunning, so I guess you can see the allure of it over some of the other realms. However, in saying that, I'd like to see Boethiah's Attribution's Share as well.
Attribution’s Share is the Plane of Boethiah. Previously known as Snake Mount, this realm is characterized by twisted towers and immense maze gardens. The realm is ruled by laws of labyrinthine policy and betrayals are a matter of course. Boethiah frequently holds the Tournament of Ten Bloods here.

Re: DLC Speculation
I'd be very disapointed if they didn't do DlC based on nordic lore and stories. I mean this is beths one shot at at doing Skyrim, if they ever decide to make a game in Skyrim again it will proabably be many years from now, so why not explore as much of it as they can. Screw the daedric realms those can waith for other more magic based games like the aldmer or the daedra loven dunmer if they ever go back to them. And I dont think that they would do the return of the dwemer as a DLC but as a fu;l game in the future. And they definitly wouldnt return two lost races right after each other. It would be a waste of a potential story to do the dwemer now. If they do have the dwarves return I think it would be in Hammerfall, being how its has some of the most interesting lore for them, I mean that guy who threw his hammer across Tamriel, and then left his homeland to live whereever it landed, pure epic story setup right thier. And its the only place where they lived left to do.
Edit: and seeing how the dwemer in Hammerfall sorta abandoned there eastern brothers, who inadverently caused there entire race to disapear.. it seems more likely that theyd be the ones to come back seen how they werent with them. And maybe that magic hammer could be the reason they return.
Although a redgaurd return of the dwemer game beter have some redgaurd and yokudan lore aswell. You know I might not even minda it if they made the return of the dwarves as a large DLC if it was in Hammerfall. But having it be in Skyrim is just stupid.

Re: DLC Speculation
Perhaps one DLC item should expand the Nordic theme, like Tribunal in Morrowind and Knights of the Nine in Oblivion, but I have a feeling that if Bethesda does as they have in past, we'll see more DLC content which is strange and polar to Skyrim's vanilla then content that 'complements' it, which is both a good and bad thing in my eyes.
