So, there is a bill trying to be passed by the American Gov't. and it allows militaty/police/ all other athority to beat, interagate, assulte, or even assassinate civilians. There is an organization based on the movie V for vendetta and their website it: http://anonyops.com
Their are riots happening right now and the group has tons of channels/videos on Youtube. They have projects going on and on of them is called: Project mayham. It is planned on Dec. 21 2012 on 11:11. Well, I just wanted to share that. Now, what do you guys think? If you live in America, tell me your thoughts and are you scared, ect.

Not at all, its not real, trust me, most likely a prank here is why
#1 goverment dose not have this power
#2 there would be a bigger uproar
#4 the whole thing screams fake
#5 the goverment is not trying this at all.
#6 miltary has no power over here really, they could not do this.

The constitution of the US would not allow this basic infringement upon American rights. In order for this law to take any sort of effect, the US congress would have to vote on it. Politicians, while being crooks, would not be willing to commit political suicide by voting yes for such a bill. Not to mention that every US state would immediately secede from the Union should anything like a military dictatorship occur.
Oh, and members of the military swear an oath to uphold the constitution, not the politicians in office.
So, yeah, fake.

Heard of the PATRIOT act that George W. Bush put through? It is an infringement of the civil rights of the American people, and that is a fact.Dark Lord Cam wrote:The constitution of the US would not allow this basic infringement upon American rights.
Just like the PATRIOT act, I bet this bill is all about anti-terrorism, but in the process will simply terrorize the American people. I wouldn't put it past the American government though, what with pizza now being a vegetable because it contains tomato puree yet tomato's are a fruit, and a fundamentalist Rick Perry actually being a legitimate candidate and current governor of Texas. Do the rest of the world a favor America, and vote for Ron Paul next year. You can't have George Bushes, Rick Perrys and Herman Caines in charge of the most powerful nation. It's just simply not safe for the planet.I EAT pain wrote:So, there is a bill trying to be passed by the American Gov't. and it allows militaty/police/ all other athority to beat, interagate, assulte, or even assassinate civilians.

While the US is subtle of how it treats our privileges (unless you're telling me that rights can be taken away when the state feels the need to remove them) - the Constitution of the US has allowed more than basic infringement on rights of people. The constitution of the US would not allow this basic infringement upon American rights.
Then again why aren't the Police being on trial or facing repercussions when they attack protestors from the 60s to now in the Occupy movement?
But this does seem a bit too much - even for the US regime.
Besides - they're not ready to go to these measures yet. They'll become openly Fascist when they desire to.

Just won't happen, I mean they can use the terrorist act for unlawful actions because they scare everyone into believing that even your own mother is going to blow up a train and you must be protected from her inner-psycho... but a bill that allows assassinations and harm of it's own people? Sounds like what the Nazi's did with their Stormtrooper faction, any politician that votes for this stuff would be out of a job by the end of the week.
Also, V for Vendetta masks? really? can't anyone think of an original idea these days? pathetic, only cowards hide their face.. or those overly paranoid people who think the government is coming to get them in their sleep.
EDIT: Oh and just to add, if this is the Anonymous group that does the pathetic internet hacking because they believe their actions 'bring down the man', then I hope they get F'd in the A. These people(if it's them) have nothing better to do with their lives then pretend to be freedom fighters, when really they are a bunch of sad anti-social tossers that have watched one to many movies.

George W Bush made a very good move in declaring 'war on terror' & getting that recognised by the U.N. It gave him & any successor the right to invoke emergency powers, if needed. The analogy would be Chancellor Palpatine in Star Wars. Such powers have the effect, in times of war, disaster or many other emergencies to basically set aside your much vaunted Bill of Rights. Remember George W Bush was elected in a way that wasn't in line with true democracy. Was it Florida where many votes went missing, many of them were ethnic minority votes. Also don't these people usually vote for the Democrats. Very suspicious if you ask me. Well now you've got the Democrats back in power & the first black president as well, which is a monumentous historical event in the relatively young history of the U.S. Does that mean that the power behind the throne, so to speak, has changed. I don't see that's the case. So as I feel a great swell of pity for our American cousins, but here in Britain we are going the same things. We are dealing with the aftermath of riots & demonstration, most of us feel we are having our freedoms eroded.
As for this 'Project Mayhem' isn't that the phrase used in the film Fight Club. Also they've picked the Mayan calendar recycling as their date for this. Of they were a real threat, I've no doubt your government would have done something about it by now.
If there is going to be a revolution, firstly it will be against capitalism. The type of capitalism that allows big business to dictate what governments & therefore countries & the populace should be doing. There is nothing to fear. If a change is coming it'll hopefully be for the best.

'Some' of us feel this way in England... but 'Most' ? no. I think you are putting a bit to much support behind the idea that freedom is going down the drain. A lot of people believe things are fine, and what must be done for our safety must be done.Biggsydaboss wrote:We are dealing with the aftermath of riots & demonstration, most of us feel we are having our freedoms eroded.
Now, don't get me wrong because I HATE the red tape everywhere, and I HATE the Terrorist act. What I'm trying to reinforce is the idea that a large percentage of the population think the opposite to us, and that is fine because of 'freedom of speech' and all that jazz.

Dean then let me reword what I meant. Most of us who are well informed & can think for ourselves feel that freedom is being eroded (whether it truly existed or not is a debate for another time). It's more then just red tape & some rather draconian legislation. I got this incredible feeling that when Blair was PM he wasn't the one pulling the strings, if not him then who, Bush. Bush would have a hard time pulling his todger after a pee, let alone orchestrating all the recent mess ups. I'm no conspiracy theorist, I'm very much about Occam's razor (the principle that the simplest explanation is usually the correct one) in most things, but I couldn't shake the intuition I had over what I saw back in the early noughties.

Kierkegaard said "men obsess over the freedom of speech, when they have the freedom of thought & barely use it". I know I've misquoted slightly but the ethos is there.

The best way to check if any bill in the Congress or at any stage of the American government is real or not is to check out the Library of Congress. Everything discussed by American politics is open and available for the people to read, and it's a good way to see the status on how things are moving.
As for Anon: I wouldn't be too scared of them. They're a bunch of pranksters and only the few at the top have any say and some slightly noble ambitions (if you stretch "noble" these days, anyways); the majority are just silly kids. It's a tiered organization. Everyone can join, but only a few have access to the goods.

Nah, the V masks are really more of a meme in Anon, and it goes with the whole, you know, anonymous concept. The V for Vendetta mask is a satire of Guy Fawkes, who tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London, England in 1605

I'm sorry... what? First of all, the mask is the guy Fawkes mask. I know quite a few Anonymous people who hate the mask because it's a "symbol", that dumb teenagers latch onto, and think is "cool", but don't actually agree with Anonymous. Secondly, they're not based on the movie V for Vendetta. Anonymous are a hacker collective based on the ideals of freedom of speech, individualism, and vigilantism.I EAT pain wrote:There is an organization based on the movie V for vendetta
Anonymous have collectives all over the world, and do a lot more than the OP describes. I don't agree with them, but please, research them for yourself before you make a decision. And please, don't buy into the 2012 "prophecy", or I'll be forced to not be friends with you again
Just so everyone knows, (and I did extensive research on this), the Mayan calendar never ends. It repeats. The "end" of the Mayan Calendar on the 21 of December, 2012 is the end of a B'ak'tun, the largest unit of measurement in time in the Mayan Calendar. It's 144,000 days, or 394.3 years. After a B'ak'tun, the B'ak'tun repeats.
So, please, next time you make up doomsday prophecies, come up with good ones. Or at least make them up so you can't be debunked so easily.

Re: Anonymous
I think you folks skipped over, or misunderstood the implications of Lindai's post.
I'm not sure of the bill you are referring to, but it can't be much crazier than the patriot act. I'd like a link, because the way you present it does sound biased. I'm sure they are finding a way to stop Occupy Wall Street, or just waiting till it's affecting the economy.
And the US can do whatever it wants so long as it can bs it. We are good at this. The last invasion of Iraq is generally accepted as illegal. I'm biting my tongue (err fingers) not to go on a rant about this. That was then, now it's even more ridiculous (in hindsight) when you read up on the subject and you see how it all went down. There's even a pic somewhere of Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam.
So Occupy whatever, Anonymous, and all these folks can (and probably will) be shut down fairly soon. I read on CNN today that they are planning on shutting down west coast ports. The only thing that needs to happen is have a weak link, a compelling news report, and in the blink of an eye they are all 'terrorists' and have been arrested for bogus charges. Or frankly, they could just lie and then arrest them.
Am I afraid? No. Alex Jones has been screaming his head off about FEMA camps for years. Nothings happened with that yet, and I don't see a sudden transition into 'assassinating civilians.' There's just no logic.
Anonymous is a cool thought, but the reality is they are all really [censored].
They shut down trains, cell phones, stuff like that. You can not do this. I recently went on a rant about how people can be a threat once they are sure they are right, and take aggressive stances. That's these people. They think in a story book mindset and that they are doing good, but they aren't thinking of the American people as a whole. We don't all agree, and you can't shut off my cell phone. What happens when I need to call my government funded emergency line (911) you jerks?!

I don't know if anyone's skipping over Lindai's post; I think it's hard to know the implications if we're not certain the exact act. (And I'm not watching that confusing video again to figure it out, either.) However, if we know, we could do this:
Avron the S'wit wrote:The best way to check if any bill in the Congress or at any stage of the American government is real or not is to check out the Library of Congress.
Very true, about Anon and the Occupy movement as well. Being a frequent passerby on the NYC streets, I want to point out that the original movement over in Zuccotti Park was just rude and unlawful. They were aggressive to passersby, they stunk (no...really, they smelt; think of how long they'd been there, too), and they were shouting rudely toward everyday Americans who happened to be in business attire because they were on their way to work. How is that constructive? Just one of the many reasons I don't agree with the way the movement handled, or handles, itself. Good points mean nothing without proper application and execution.leroybrown wrote:They shut down trains, cell phones, stuff like that. You can not do this. A lot of the protesters are not rude or anything like that normally, it's a minority of them that go there to start 'trouble' and I believe this can almost kill the ideas of the friendly majority because people only see the negatives. The news is the worst for promoting this idea, and although a lot of people realise how much bull they speak sometimes, a lot of people do not unfortunately and class every member of a protest gone wrong as 'a bunch of yobs and jobless retards'.
