should the next elder scrolls game have dragons?

give your opinion and why or why not. and if you think they should be related to the main quest or free roaming like other animals.

YES, but in a far more limited capacity

I firmly believe that the next Elder Scroll game will be in high rock, assuming the empire still maintains tamed dragons, and dragonlings still roam free, these would be the perfect place to ease us out of dragons!

If the dragons have little chance of survival in Skyrim, being slain whenever the get near populated areas, and little chance of getting the people of Tamriel under their control again, I doubt they'd want to stay. I figure they'd be more likely to return to Akavir and try to recapture their homeland. So unless Akavir is part of the next game, I would not want dragons in the next TES.

Yes, but only a handful...reserved for interesting quests where scripting can do them justice or for treasure troves that would make a new player squee with joy, but are too afraid of the level 50 Dragon sleeping near the entrance...

As Chaos said, having them appear in a handful of locations as extremely high-level boss enemies would be satisfying. :)

I think it depends on the next game's setting. And lore behind why the dragons went where.

Absolutely no reason why there wouldn't be. I'd assume Paarthunax would send out his messengers to find dragons and bring them into his, "Way of the Voice", as he's trying to do so in Skyrim.

As has been said though, not a lot of them hopefully.

The shouts were only for Dovahkiin and the Greybeards and such. It wouldn't make sense for the next game to have shouts, unless some Greybeards immigrate there, to that setting.

Actually, anyone could learn shouts if they practiced the Thu'um for a great deal of years. Even then, I think it was said they'd be able to just learn Fus Ro after all that time. And depending on how long from now ES VI would take place after V, some may have gotten their hands on how to shout.

It will most likely be replaced by some other crazy magic. No point worrying yourself about it, what they replace it with might be 10x better. The span between games is like 5 years, so I'm sure they can think of some cool features to add by then.

As for the topic, i doubt there will be LOADS of Dragons everywhere in the next one... it would be a bit lacking in the new idea department. I agree with others though, a few in caves or other secluded areas would be a nice touch... some quest related and all that.

I hope not...I'd rather not have to feed it, walk it, and scoop it's sandbox.

It'll become a burger and a side of ribs before I do.

No. Dragons were Skyrim's thang. Also, it's nice that there's at least one fantasy series without actual dragons (with Skyrim being the amazing exception... hopefully). Any fantasy that gets away from the boring same-old tolkien junk, even in small amounts, has my full support.
If they weren't nords, but instead dunmer or redguards, nobody would call them "racist".

The way I see it, unfortunately it may be a no, look at the daedra, we got limited to just the atronachs and dremora. That being said, hopefully we'll be limited to two types of dragons the TES V version of an Elder and Ancient, I'm not about to fight only weak versions of dragons.

You're forgetting that Redguard had a dragon and dragonings...

But I understand the phobic sediment with all the regurgitated Western Fantasy that piles in the market, I still think that having them as something seen, but fleetingly so would do well. I wouldn't want to have the mystery of "What happened to the Dragons: AGAIN" to pop up, it'd be weird to have so many around one game and then erased the next...unless they play it off that the cliffracers returned and killed them all...

Yes
I simply want them in because i love fighting them.
How they would fit in lore wise Im not sure maybe they could've restarted thier race scince they came back during skyrim i dont see why they couldnt have become common again

Yes. Dragons have always played an integral part in the fantasy genre. Hopefully they'll be more creative next time and introduce a broader variety of dragons, such as multi-headed dragons or dragons that do not all follow the same AI. Also, I would like the dragons' scales/hide play a more significant role in their defence, such that to injure a dragon would require hitting it at a certain vulnerable place.

I found it dull in Skyrim how taking down dragons was more so a chore than challenge. 'Oh no, a dragon... *gasp* Looks like I'll have to cast Dragonrend and whittle down its health bar swing by swing'.

I would only like to see dragons again if they were just an enemy you can encounter while adventuring, not as part of the story. It would still be cool to fight a dragon once in a while, like as a rare enemy.

No, we've already had them once, I'd like something new, not the same thing again.

I'm not going to say yes or no, because I haven't completed the MQ... but, at the very least, it needs to have an enemy like dragons. Something huge, that can fly, etc. It's definitely set a new president, and anything less from now on will definitely be substandard.

Dragons would have to be tougher, if they did reappear. After a while, Dragons get to easy to beat especially when you get Dragonrend and figure out how dumb they are. They would, of course, need better AI and follow a different attack pattern then fly around, land, fly around.
