Purchasing decision, worth it?

Post by MasterRokon »

Ok, so keep in mind that im only 16 and working a part time job, so money doesnt hold the highest value over my head. . . Yet.

I've decided it for many reasons im going to get myself a desktop, my laptop crapped out on me at the beginning of the summer, with a boot MGR missing error. I read online that to fix this you can use a vista or windows 7 start up disk and fix it, i got my laptop from wall-mart so i dont have that disk. The disk alone is 112$ and for a best buy diagnostic check its 70$. But the computer im looking at getting is 398$ Info, i currently got on me(via in my wallet) 165.06$ and 335.84$ in savings. Which would leave me with 142.90$ for the holidays coming up(+ 40$ if my sister pays me back). Now my question is would it be worth it to get this particular desktop at its price, from walmart. The only things im going to use it for are, school stuff, minecraft, minecraft server, oblivion, and maybe a few small mmo's. Also i make 315$ a month after deductions so idk if it wouldnt be bad for me if i were to put all of my checks into savings instead of my usual 40%.

If you're going to buy a desktop, I say it would be best to save up for another month or two and buy yourself something that's going to last you for more than a year. You may only want to play Minecraft and Oblivion now but what about Fallout 4 or Skyrim, eh? Be prepared for the future.

Ehh not getting fallout 4 done with that series, and already got skyrim for ps3 so yea, also it will be easier for school work seeing as im using the school issued ipad for at home work, including personal things a nd two things that suck about that are its god awfully annoying, i hate these damn apple machines, and two im limited to the things i can do, school can see everything i do and bugged their internet so anything done on these is seen even on another internet access point. Plus my laptop had worse specs and everything, but lasted me 4yrs, thanks for the suggestion though. Over all im getting that desktop either this weekend or somtime this month, cuz i cant stand these pieces of crap ipads anymore.

If the situation is that dire, I completely understand your mentality. However, if you suddenly find yourself wanting to play any newfangled next-gen games on your PC but are frustratingly unable to do so, let my voice be the one gnawing at the back of your mind saying: "I told you so." :P
