Oh, and in case anyone though I was lying when I said "the following is an excerpt from a tattered journal found, heavily soiled and partially waterlogged, not far from the Anvil Lighthouse"...

Here and here. How it got there is a mystery, even to me!

P.S. Bonus points for anyone who can identify this.

Right, I think this is getting way out of hand.

The self-proclaimed Kings of the Khajiit Underground, the Sheep Shank Kids are back on tour to promote their third full-length music book, currently tearing up the charts and being placed in music-stands Tamriel wide! Already infamous for songs that allegedly promote anarchy, hedonism, nudity in Cyrodiil, skooma abuse, wreckless conduct, piracy, and even Daedra worship, they delight teens almost as much as they offend their parents! While some doomsayers claim the Kids are on the way out, noting band member's problems with the law, the growing illegal distribution of sheet music by minors, and former drummer Bong-Bong J'Hendrik's tragic death from skooma overdose last year, band frontman "Scratch" Dar'Basra prepared the following statement in response:

"**** th' **** ***** who *** ***** my *** Khajiit *** ****! Buncha *** ****** *** Bosmer's, if yoo arsk meh!"

Image
It's better to punch a guard than fade away!

"Scratch" Dar'Basra
Male Khajiit
Lead Singer, Rythm Lute

Charismatic singer for the band, at least when he's not passed out drunk or high on skooma. Sent to the Imperial City prison on charges of "snorting lines of moon sugar off the half-naked body of Hieronymus Lex's giggling 19 year old daughter", he was released recently on a plea bargain, substituting community service (in the form of various errands for the Emperor) for hard time. While critics claim his voice sounds like a cross between a dying Clannfear and an Ogre fart, most fans of the Fab Four say "they don't mind". As one fan, Konstantinos Ravenwolf, said to this reporter: "If you don't like Scratch's singing, you should stick to that Altmer Elf-pop crap, like Britney Bthuangth!!! 666, HAIL DAGON!!!"

Image
Sporting one of his signature lightning-powered Daedric Lutes! Play Stairway to Moonshadow!

Duke Falco Molmstein

Male Khajiit
Lead/ Rythm Lute

Claims to be the direct descendent of the legendary Nordic virtuoso, Ingvar Molmstein, although some of his more astute fans notice his wealth of body fur and take such claims with a grain of moon sugar. Others object to such ignorant use of reason, and insist "you gotta have faith!" Regardless of the truth of the matter, it's clear that Falco is a musician of the highest caliber, with an ego to match. Well known for his opulent spending habits, extravegent stage-dress, and stable full of thorough-bred black horses, he drew heated criticism last month for a very unpopular move, filing a lawsuit against the Elsweyrian manuscript-trading network, Catster. While some fans were upset, declaring that "Falco sold out" and "they'd never go to a tavern to hear local musicians play renditions of SSK's music again!", Falco responds simply by spitting, and saying "Those plebs would be NOWHERE without my genius. Have you ever heard such twinkling arpeggios and ear-rending cadences? PAH! Of course you haven't. Besides, I need the septims to buy a new gold-plated swimming pond. My old one has a tiny slaughterfish in it."

Image
Just who is this masked Khajiit?

Sir Krumsalot
Male Khajiit
Harpsipianist

An enigmatic masked Khajiit. Nobody knows who he is... or what he is doing... but Sir Krumsalot seems to like it that way. While he rarely ever speaks in public, and never appears without his trademark bucket, his quirky and difficult-to-grasp harpsipianist playing style certainly adds a bit of... something, to the band. Speculating about Sir Krumsalot's true identity is one of the fans' biggest hobbies. Theories include a horribly deformed mutant-Khajiit, Scratch's twin brother (they switch places every so often to mess with the fans), an alien, a Daedra, two midgets in a Khajiit suit, and a bucket with a Khajiit-like growth sprouting out from underneath. This reporter's favorite theory is that he's really none other than an alter-ego of legendary Bretonic composer and musician, Sununit Patton, a claim bolstered by the fact that the two of them have only ever been seen in the same room TWICE before! A better question might be: what the heck is a "Krum", and how does one do a lot of it? A good answer might be: trust me, you don't want to know.

Image
I believe the technical term for such Dwemer accoutrements is "bling".

Johnny the Lizard
Male Argonian
New Kettle Drummer

The newest member of the group, and possibly the most controversial in the eyes of the fans. Replacing J'Hendrik, whose tragic death is still a source of grief for fans (see Op Ed piece later in this issue, "Courtney killed J'Hendrik!"), his position is made harder by the fact that he's one of the only Argonians in a musical scene dominated by Khajiit and Nords. As any youngster will tell you, Argonians are known for their rhythmic, rhyming, amphibian "hop-hop" music, and fans of the raw punky sound of Khajiit music and fans of the stacatto ryhmes of Argonian MCs are split into two harshly divided camps. Dar'Basra's response to such talk: "is not aboot whefer yoor Khajiit, or Argoonian, aight? Thas not woot this music's aboot. It's aboot whefer yoor not a **** **** *** Bosmer or one of those *** ******* *** Nibenean *** *****!!! Stoof yoor Nine Divines! Na wherez me skooma?!?" As for Johnny, he is happy to prove himself, noting that his elder brother played in one of the first all-Argonian rock bands, Occultic Personality, and insisting that his "cross-over" approach to drumming will help bridge the gap between disaffected teens Cyrodiil over.

You should have seen it when I had the crowds cheering! Unfortunately, my game crashed, so until I figure out how to script an Orcish mosh pit, you'll have to make do with the audience watching politely.

P.S. A cookie to anyone who can guess the references!

Well, let's see.
The "Fab Four" is relating to the Beatles.
Stairway to Moonshadow is clearly Stairway to Heaven.

Sir Krumsalot, I'm guessing, is a play on Buckethead.

The "Courtney killed J'hendrik" is...obvious...

That's as much as I can do.
I missed it here.

I like how the Argonians like hiphop rather than the Redguards... it makes more sense that way since it's really a class/culture thing. Khajiit and Argonians are generally considered the disenfranchised minorities of Tamriel.

...I wonder what the kids in Vivec listen to.

Yeah, there aren't really any "minority" human races- it seems like in Tamriel, the color of your skin doesn't matter. It's how much fur/ scales you got that does! Whether it's making racist jokes about Khajiit or brutally torturing Argonian immigrants in the basement of Leyawiin castle, I'm sure that beast folk culture is a seething ball of class antagonism and blue collar pride.

Plus hop hop. Like frogs? Frogs in swamps? Ahhh, nevermind.
...I wonder what the kids in Vivec listen to.
Cliff racer squawks and the screams of dying Ordinators as the Nerevarine tears through the city once again.

Oh, pooh! You're no fun. It took me almost two hours just to set up the mod. *sob sob*

There's at least 19 references, most of which are obvious, a couple of which are subtle, and one of which is so devilishly clever that even I'd miss it if it weren't for the fact I made it myself. Nobody will be able to get that one, but the rest of them should be easy.

Next expansion pack:
Oblivion: The Frost Fall Revolution. Without the emperor to stabilize the continent with a heavy handed theocratic rule, the outer provinces separate and Cyrodiil tears itself apart in a communist revolution!

I'd pay money for it.

Name: Morgalo
Race:Dunmer
From:Bravil
Age: 32
Sex: Male
Birthsign: Thief
Class:Custom; Bounty Hunter
Specialization:Ranged and Melee combat
Major skills:
Blade
Block
Light armor
Marksmanship
Sneak
Armorer
Restoration

Morgalo grew up on the tough streets of Bravil. He knew many things about the ins and outs of the city, and witnessed something that would change his life forever. One night, he was heading over to the Lucky old Lady, and heard some weird voices. He stopped, and saw several people opening the statue up and descending into a chamber below it. Morgalo followed them into the chamber, and saw the macabre ceremony the Dark Brotherhood was performing. He became fascinated with death, and at one point, tried to turn himself into a lich(unsuccessfully). He has very few convictions, and will take anything that pays, but in normal combat, he has a sense of honor. If he wasn't paid to kill/maim you, he will fight you fairly. He discovered the light of the eight and one, but did not change to them immedietely. He found the light because of the accidental "murder" of Lucien Lachance early in the Dark Brotherhood questline. He was last seen having a change of heart and helping cyrodiil to overcome the oblivion crisis.

Name: Arianor
Level:2
Race: Dunmer
Class: Custom version of spellsword/Marksman
Major Skills
Alchemy(just for you Weka :Twisted Evil: )
Blade
Marksman
Destruction
Restoration
Light armor
Sneak
Favored: Strength and Agility

Arianor was but a lonely dark elf babe on the island of vvardenfell when he was picked up by a wandering traveler. Arianor soon went heracles on that traveler, and strangled him in his crib. He was picked up by the dark brotherhood at the tender age of 11, and soon was morphed into a fighting machine. He became extremely loyal to his Father, Silthis, and his Mother, the Night Mother. He became a member of the crimson scars after an unfortunate misunderstand with Valtiere. After being damned by Silthis for saving a person' s life, he spent all of his teenage and young teen years attempting to get it back. Now, he's in the mood for some revenge served cold on Silthis, and while he doesn't kill the family members (as he still considers them his family), he sabotages their attempts at killing for Silthis. He became a crusader of the nine and now is regarded as one of the big names in crusading and plundering in the name of gods.

A new twist, I modded the playable races to include Dremora.

Class: Valkynaz
Birthsign: Warrior
Abilities: Endurance & Strength
Style: Combat

Out of the box (jail/sewers) stats:

health: 150
Magicka: 130
Fatigue: 220

Strength: 65
Intelligence: 40
Willpower: 30
Agility: 50
Speed: 30
Endurance : 75
Personality: 10
Luck: 50

I put a large penatly on Personality, a little penalty on Willpower, and boosted Str, End, & Agility.

Blade, Block, & Heavy all started at 40. Other Major Skills: Destruction, Conjuration, Illusion, & Mysticism.

The jail/sewer/tutorial, was foreshadowing. The character actually starts before meeting the Emperor.

As a trusted Commander for Dagon, Luciferi (the fallen angel, who will fall a different direction this time), was sent to Tamriel (Cyrodill) to scout the countryside, and gather intelligence for the Opening of the Oblivion Gates, and the Invasion of Tamriel (Cyrodill).

- Traveling in disguise, using Illusion (charm to counter the personality of 10), decides to enter the Arena, to better judge the Fighting Skills of the Races.

- While scouting out the various cities, he is asked by the Count of Leyawiin to check into a certain Orc. Inadvetantly becoming a Knight Errant, then the Knight Commander of the Knights of the White Stallion (mod).

- Thinking that traveling under the Guise of a Knight, might give him better intel. He decieds to do join the Fighter Guild. Also to better judge their strenghts & weaknesses.

- He stubles across a False Vampire Hunter in Bruma. Then is asked to join the Order of the Virtuous Blood, an actual group of Vampire Hunters, ironicly run by a Vampire. He attempted to get the Vampires to join Lord Dagons Cause, but was refused.

- He is continually accousted by locals, to help in some situation or other. Oddly though, he almost starts to enjoy helping. Is it the Knight Commanders Armor.... :?

- Daedra Shrines? Worshipers, playing at witchcraft. Maybe more Allies? Alas, to no avail, they are consumed with their own petty existance.

** Next on the plate, once the FG Quests are complete:

* There is a report of an attack on the Nine Divines. This bears looking into, as it could interfere with Lord Dagons Plans. (if the Knight Commanders Armor is changing him, think what the Knights Relics will do).

* Trouble in Sheogoraths Realm??? Will Luciferi go Mad, and at what cost???

* Get sent to prision, to "Escort" the Emperors "Escape" (ambush)... east enough... (or is it). What is the Emperor Talking about? Dreams? Destiny? Why could I not Kill the Emperor???

+++++ A Dremora Lord, as the Champion of Cyrodill :?:

I quit playing the Orc Pathfinder. The Dremora is a new Character.

I was thinking about not posting it, until I was finished, and make it more of a story, rather than a bio. I also wanted to make sure there were not any bugs. It seems to play pretty well.

I had offered up the mod earlier, but nobody was interested. I was hoping a good story might entice a few to bite. This is actually better thean getting one from TESNexus, as I would cusomize it for whoever wants it. I added my special "Racial" bouneses for a Warrior. I can change things around, to the more Magically, or Steatly inclined. Same with the Skill Bonuses. I went with +10 to Blade, Block, Heavy Armor, Agility, & + 5 to Destruction.

He has alot of Restritions as well:

- No houses, thus no storage, thus only what can be carried.
- No sleeping. Only rests (meditates) in Camps or sometimes rents a room at level time.
- No Alchemy, no potions or poisions, no bows, no blunt, no sneak (Illusion), no security (Alteration).
- No DB or TG. No Murders, keep assault to the minimum (so far still 0. )
