How disappointed are you all going to be with patch 1.3?

If you're trying to play Skyrim via PS3, I'd say you'll be disappointed A LOT.

Otherwise, you'll just be plain disappointed.

I'd be happy if they just fixed the dragon flight issues 1.2 borked. While I, and my fun-loving Khajiit, practically burst a gut laughing when I encountered an epiletic dragon attempting to fly backwards into a mountain, I doubt my power-hungry mage or my blood-thirsty assassin will be as amused when I make them.

You PS3 users are lucky; you may have awful patches and no way to fix them by yourselves, but at least Bethesda cares about you.

Heh, yeah, sure. "Holidays"!

I'll bet you fifty septims it's all because of Steam and this "cloud option" they're mentioning. Bethesda is already so far up Valve's dank gong-hole, it's no wonder they'd delay just to appease their new Elven masters. I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop, and the announcement that the CK is ONLY going to be available online, through Steam, as a monthly pay service that gives you access to all sorts of Great Deals on content Steam shouldn't even own in the first place.

Well, no, it's not downright awful. Not downright. But every time I walk into my useless house in Solitude, the one with the crap layout that I wasted forty thousand septims on, I can't help but dwell on how much we're missing.

Well, let me put it this way: everything Oblivion got right, Skyrim gets more right. Everything Oblivion got wrong, Skyrim gets more wrong. I love the game, but me and her might consider marriage counseling if the CK doesn't get here soon!

What I'd to see out of 1.3 are:

A) a fix that will unlock more than 2 GB of RAM usage.
B) a 64-bit executable so that that we can utilize far more than 2 GB of RAM if we happen to have it.
C) ensure the game can make good use of that capacity so us PC players can rule over everyone else— like the affluent and slightly spoiled tyrants that we just so happen to be.

Not by far, not really. It's better in MANY ways, but it actually managed to do so much worse on the RPG-side of things. Skills are dumbed down, Perks are overpowered by design (to the point we as players have to be self-conscious about which perks we pick less we break the game and make it very boring for ourselves), the whole system is terribly unbalanced. And what about immersion? You're the Dragonborn? You killed Alduin? You're the archmage? WHO CARES ? Stupid guards will treat you like $#@% regardless; and the mages, oh the mages, they don't seem to care or realize you're their archmage either; and the same goes for every other faction and city in this game. There's no sense of acomplishment. None.

Edit: We KNOW these things will eventually get fixed by ourselves, the players (as a community, I mean), but it still sucks that Bethesda's dumbed the Elder Scrolls down further. And Skyrim was released in a rush (there's no denying that) and I'm so fed up with this 11.11.11 stupidity.

2nd Edit: And YES, I feel cheated that I paid a whooping 60 USD for this.

And speaking of that, I think it's just because when a game is vastly popular like Skyrim, noobs to the series will pick it up and start playing, whereas PC gamers are usually into the series already.

I don't know what you're on about with the perks. My highest level character is level 26 and it's still quite a challenge. Skills are dumbed down? How? I'd say that they're more complicated with the added perks. Did you ever have to press more than one button to swing a sword, or did you think that picking any lock with a Security of 5 was more complex? I've had no guards treating me like [&@%!] , they treat me as they treat anyone else. What, you saved the world. Does that mean you can start murdering people in the street? The graphics are much better, the design is much better, the gameplay is much more fun. I don't see much to complain about.

Spoiled? Maybe. Better? No. I prefer console controls for anything besides Morrowind.

Just stop before this turns into the second console war today.
