Being ditched by a follower ...
Alright. I have become a little irritated that the followers you get during a questline (ie; The Companions, or Thieves Guild) ditch you and give some [&@%!] poor excuse that they cannot continue with you to the next objective because <insert [&@%!] poor excuse here>. Has anyone else noticed this ?
I don't understand why Bethesda just can't give you the follower(s) for the rest of the questline (especially when you get them on the second last quest, and they ditch you on the last one) rather than making you take on a huge dungeon by yourself. -_-
I know that I could just get a mercenary/ companion in a city, but still ... It doesn't make sense to me why they would just leave you.

I was a sneak character, so I never really used companions, as they would blow my cover.
Can you elaborate on what the problem is specificly?

Are you talking about the last Companion quest?
I think it's more to give you some alone time. For one, it's more challenging to do it alone (Or with Aela) and it's also more serious and quiet without a Nord raiding party at your back.

Re: Being ditched by a follower ...
I know exactly what your talking about. When you get a temporary follower that stays with you for only 1 particular quest, occasionally that follower will make you complete part of a dungeon on your own. But thats not the dumb part. What's dumb is the follower will say something non-practical as an excuse to stop following you; something like, you go on ahead while I examine these tombs....just an example but it doesn't really make sense. If you went into a monster infested dungeon, would you suddenly tell your buddy, hey go kill all those bad guys while I hang out back here....probs not.

My favourite explanation? "I can't go with you, I'm afraid of spiders" - A companion.

It has never bothered me that they do this.

To me that's a excuse that is acceptableRhcpftw wrote:My favourite explanation? "I can't go with you, I'm afraid of spiders" - A companion.

A hero can be anyone, even a man doing some as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy's shoulders to let him know the world hadn't ended.

Re: Being ditched by a follower ...
If I was entering a monster infested area with my best pall. I would definitely make up a lame excuse to hang back & get my friend to go on ahead. Then I would wait a while then go & loot his corpse. Then I would go to his house & tell his beautiful wife what a hero he was & that his dying wish was for me to take care of her.
I used to be an adventurer, but then I broke my GF's IPhone 4 & she mutilated me in a rather personal manner
