Re: Stormcloak questions
Personally you're all a little far from the point. This time the war isn't as black and white as the Legion vs NCR. It's fleshed out and both sides have very strong reasons and good ones too. I side with the empire on my first playthrough (but in my second ill be stormcloak).
Basically here are my points to make.
-Ulfric is not a traitor to the Stormcloaks or a secret Thalmor spy, he was basically told the empire is weak and after seeing the sack of the Imperial City took that to heart and tried to bring Skyrim as the leader of Tamriel, both parties want to kill each other, its just the Thalmor hope that both the empire and stormcloaks will be weak enough after the war for a final invasion, so right now they're bidding they're time.
-Whiterun isn't neutral, it's an imperial controlled city, read the map, plus if it was, he wouldn't have to be replaced at the end of the battle there. He simply wants a different independence, one from both stormcloaks and empire.
-All the race cultures are still strong, even the Nord's (this made very strongly in Oblivion), Legate Rikke for God's sake, the 3rd most important person in the empire, is all for the Nord's ways, it's clearly not outdated.
-The war is a matter of preference, both sides have (and probably will) a good chance of defeating the Thalmor in a DLC or future title.
The real best choice for a stable government in Tamriel, is an empire run by the Dragon born with close supervision from a re-stored version of the Blades, i can see this being an option for the future title, afterall you were allowed to marry in the game.

No the Blades are ingrates who wanted me to kill the coolest dragon in the game who wasn't trying to kill me. Also Whiterun is neutral since it hasn't declared a side.Da_BossMaN69 wrote:Personally you're all a little far from the point. This time the war isn't as black and white as the Legion vs NCR. Re: Stormcloak questions
Lets not forget the History of the Blades that the Blades themselves have forgotten but Paarthunax and the Greybeards havn't:
In their early days when the Akaviri warriors came to skyrim and would set up what would be known as the blades they killed all dragons, friendly and foe alike. There were dragons that sided with the humans against Alduin's tyranny and aided the humans, however the humans didn't trust the dragons and Paarthunax at this point in time is all that remains of that surving the dragon destruction because he was far away when the others were killed off by the blades.
Tiber Septim, who would become Talos, was trained with the Greybeards and with Paarthunax himself many, many eons after the first blades of Reman Cyrodil wiped out the friendly dragons. The blades don't understand all this mumbo jumbo all they care about is killing the dragons despite them being Akatosh's children and not all his children are bad and at one point in time Alduin was good but power and soul eating corrupted them.
As the greybeards have said there might of been more dragons to help in the fight against alduin if the blades didn't kill them all off.
The blades once served the dragonborn, but now they pretty much demand the dragon born to kill off the only good dragon who may convince other dragons to follow in the way of the voice. Odahving doesn't like that idea but then again until recently he was a minion of Alduin and didn't break away freely many eons ago like Paarthunax did. Paarthunax even communicated with Kynerreth and both aided and taught mortals, Jor, in the way of the voice and he holds Jorgen Windcallers teachings in high esteem.
He isn't happy that Alduin has to die because he once looked upon him as a brother but knew it was neccessary. Paarthunax has payed back his debts from so long ago and deserves to live. Not all dragons are evil and they are a part of the life cycle of humans and beasts alike.
The blades are just bigist jerks who aren't satisfied that you helped them escape and given them a very awesome sanctuary, in order to welcome you as their puppet you have to kill the first friendly dragon you have met. I refuse to do this. Besides the blades don't offer much but the greybeards aid you in finding the words of power and paarthunax allows you to meditate making some of your words of power more powerful than they were.

Re: Stormcloak questions
You can still get that without killing Paarthunax. When you first open the temple that you give to the blades go to the room on your left, getting that dragon blade thing and a full free set of blades armor in the chest, no stealing whatsoever.Da_BossMaN69 wrote:ehhh, ill talk the 3rd best and nicest looking armor in the game with the best one handed sword over powers i can learn from the walls.
In fact if you do it early enough you can still get that perk from the potion esbern gives you after you give him scales and dragon bones.
Therefore your point is void.
