Enough this thread is more about moral alignment than its original purpose.

The empire and the thalmor are a lesser pf two evils.
It's still bad thalmor have the empire in a vicegrip but at least there was peace, as unstable as it is.

Again your turning the thread in to a moral alignment by saying they are the lesser of two evils, i disagree.

but thats not the point of this thread

Well then, neither is this:
1st is ratorical, not askign for a real awsner, never said it was wrong or right, simpley said it happens and like if I said

2nd is a fact, I'm not saying Gods are the most improant, I'm saying that other pepole take them as, E,x nords

3rd you Asked me a question, I awsnerd it.

You need to keep your eyes on the horizon, not the current situation.

Always think two steps ahead. Empires die and then are reborn. It's happened before, and it should happen again.

The fate of the empire is stuck to the dragonborn.
That can go as far the empire gains enough strength to evict the thalmor and later crush them.
If the stormcloaks gains dominance, the thalmor could over run skyrim and control another province.
Or vice versa.
You have to believe in one side for the future.

And you know he did not try to talk to them how?
When he arived they say they all thgout he was goign to request the split, which means they knew about it, which means he had tried other ways to get it thgourgh, while we have no proof which he did, he did somethign before hand
I don't Wolfie, just pure speculation on my part.

I would try to keep up with all the new posts on here but its apparent that I've been lost in the wind haha. Though I will agree that it all comes down to your morales when you play. I plan on playing both sides as I don't really care which way it goes. My characters will do what they think is right at the time depending on how I create them.

Some will hail the Empire while others will spit upon the bodies of dead Empire soldiers...

The Thalmor overrunning Skyrim would not happen. If the Redguards smashed the Thalmor in a guerrilla war, there is no way they would even attempt to risk it in Skyrim...they have way too much going for them.

This game just screws the Empire. It's financially drained, their provinces hate them because of they conceded to the Thalmor in the Great War,
Spoiler:
the Emperor was assassinated (which would probably cause a secession crisis, which screws countries usually)
, their mages seem more interested in politics than magic...

To be honest, the Empire is dying, I say let it die. A new one could always arise.

It's still all opinion, no matter the format.

But the point being, this whole thread is an opinion thread. Plus, you asked a rhetorical question, and I answered it.

The point is I find Ulfric somewhat detestable because he created war where none was necessary; there was no immediate threat to the lives of his people. Because he broods on and on about how he would gladly lay himself to death if he could see a world where soldiers were no longer necessary, then plans his next attack on the citizens of a neutral city, just for their neutrality. Because he shuns diplomacy and reason for violence, begetting violence.

Because by the time the smoke settles from Skyrim, there will be no more Nords to fight the Thalmor, and all thanks to him.

He threatens the jarl to get out, that's not a very diplomatic attempt.

Even if a neutral city is on the middle of a war its still neutral.

If the empire wasn't going to stay together long why didn't Ulfric bide his time?

it is the way of the nords, what do you think the Axe means?
Even if a neutral city is on the middle of a war its still neutral.
Yes but both side planed to have it, the empire tricks them in to acpeting aid, if they had not the empire woukld have taken it

Becuse waitng for somethign to fall would be to late?
they would still be taking silver form the mines, and requits form the nords in the army

in short waitng would make thm fall to

About the mines....
The empire dug and mined them it's pointless for anyone to get mad over it.

About nord ways.
They are barbaric, they are outdated and not accepted by anyone except stormcloak supporters.

About the empire.
They tried to persuade the jarl to join nonviolently. In the end Ulfric attacked anyways so the empire was called on to assist.

And the Empire has sopourters who are not epmire suporters?
How is it outdated?

So did Ulfric, remember Ulfric told all fo them "Join me or bbe agisnt me"
So Ulfric DID try to conive him to join

Wolfie, think THINK.

No one stated otherwise about ownership of the mines or even the workers.

Old nords ways are outdated, name the last time in anty other elder scrolls game where you saw a duel to the death that isn't illegal.

So either with him or against him?
That's the speech evil people give. Its not very diplomatic either.

Yes becuse the Empire RULES skyrim right now, they own evreything

Much like how USA owns all the indians old places

Old nords ways are outdated, name the last time in anty other elder scrolls game where you saw a duel to the death that isn't illegal.
Blood moon, Arena in oblvion to name only a few, there is nothign that says its out of date, no one evre claims its out of date
So either with him or against him?

The Empire is saying the same thing, refusing to let them leave

Oh my god,

In the usa you still hear an Indian say we stole his land.
Name one npc that's has had their mine taken.
And don't come up with some bs about silencing people.

The arena is one good point.
The island in Bloodmoon is inhabited by barbaric nords.

And the empire is like the usa back with Lincoln
A house divided can not stand and all that.
The empire simple uses more diplomatic solutions than WAR!!

Oh my god,
Calm down, if you cant stop getting mad pleaswe take a break
In the usa you still hear an Indian say we stole his land.
Name one npc that's has had their mine taken.
You dont get it do you?
Skyrim is part of the empire, but it is still its own thing put it like this

usa
Teaxs is skyrim
USA is empire
The empire has put up mines in teaxs, they built them yes but teaxs wants free and the USA says "NOOO" and keeps taking

The only reason the mines are there is becuse Skyrim LETS THEM, but after they are no logner wanted they stay anwyas

they are taking, aginst the will of the pepole, vauble resoruces they need, is it all the pepole? no of course not, ut enough

again calm down man
And I'm not saying teaxs wants to be free its just an exsample
The arena is one good point.
The island in Bloodmoon is inhabited by barbaric nords.
So the fact that Nords fight to detah and tis leagal is not a point to proof that nords still fight to the death leailgy...
And the empire is like the usa back with Lincoln
A house divided can not stand and all that.
The empire simple uses more diplomatic solutions than WAR!!
Wrog, they did not consider letting the nords be free they went to war just as the storm cloacks did

Enough dude.

Skyrim is supported by the trade in the empire comparing tamreil to america can only go so far and make only so little sense.
And stop saying all the nords want to be separate and want freedom only Ulfric and his army want them to empire gone, the rest are fine with the empire so that's pointless to say the they arare forcing them to stay.

I'm only getting mad because you keep putting opinions in yourthe statements and trying to make it sound factual.

yes and the empire is lossing money.
and on real rough times, all the others left and now skyrim is doing the same.
comparing tamreil to america can only go so far and make only so little sense.
Then pick something that will and I will show you what i mean
And stop saying all the nords want to be separate and want freedom only Ulfric and his army want them to empire gone,
next time read my posts
I said
is it all the pepole? no of course not,
I have NEVER EVER siad they all what him gone ever, and I'vr made that ponit clear in a bunch of my posts
the rest are fine with the empire so that's pointless to say the they arare forcing them to stay.
Uh yeah they are, the very fact that the stormcloaks CAN fight the empire proves that more then enough want to be free, in fact its even about for sopourt
couting towns and jarls on sides.

I'm only getting mad because you keep putting opinions in yourthe statements and trying to make it sound factual.
Where have I put an opinion in the last post?
or the one before that?
Where show me? you wont fidn it there is not one at all
never said all of them want to be free, ANYWHERE

First of all, no; they were not, as far as I can tell, actively committing genocide upon the Nord people. Secondly, I don't know what you mean by "taking his people away". Do you mean recruiting them? Converting them culturally?
Again wrong, the city is in the middle of erveythign its a very veyr impront part of the war, thats why oth sides want it
The city was neutral, that's a fact. Balgruuf sided with neither the Stormcloaks nor the Imperials. Just because it happened to be geographically located in contested territory does not mean it wasn't politically neutral.
Proof of this? he trys to send the Jarl a way out of fight8ing, the Jarl says no
He sent him an ultimatum: side with me or we attack your city. He was offering them "protection" from himself. That's not a matter of opinion, he did attack the neutral city.

The thalmor take away Talos worshipers, take away those who sopourt the storm cloack
tec

I said the reasson they all want it is

A. its in the middle of evreything and will help the war 5059695 times
B. it will turn the tide of the war
He sent him an ultimatum: side with me or we attack your city.
Yep as the Empire did with him " follow us or we go to war" no choice for a peacful split same as Ulfric did
He was offering them "protection" from himself. That's not a matter of opinion, he did attack the neutral city
Yep and the Empire lied to them to get them to side with them and even talk about taking it over.
