Jean-Pierre Lemonds

Post by weka »

Does anyone know who this guy is??

Was working on getting my Agility up, and found him sleeping on the top floor of Silverhome in Bravil. I couldn't believe that I got 29 magical arrows off him, 5 diff types.

Was wondering if he plays any role other than general man about town? Hopefully he might prove to be a regular easy source of magical arrows.

I'm not quite sure but I think he's your hit in dark brotherhood. Green brocade shirt - that's him.
There once was a Prince named Mehrunes
Whose buttocks sounded sonorous tunes
‘Twas an odiferous song
People sang before long
They had enough of his full crescent moons.

Well I think I might wait and see if he replenishes that supply of arrows. If he does, he might get a reprieve on the death sentence.....

Jean-Pierre Lemonds? Is not a DB mark. There is a DB mark in Bravil, however, who wears a green brocade shirt.

Wow. Spoilers abound.

I shouldn't complain, I should get on and do the DB quests.

Nice post!

I just dropped by... at first he wasn't there at about 11PM, I went out of the room (door on right, 3rd floor) and hit wait for a few hours and he walked in and went right to sleep. At my level he has 13 arrows of burning, 22 arrows of cowardice, 12 arrows of discord, 5 arrows of embers, 10 arrows of fear, 4 arrows of frost, 4 arrows of light, 4 arrows of qualms, 10 arrows of sparks, 10 flare arrows, 5 plain old steel arrows, and 58 gold!!!

I'll check back in a "week" or so and see if he respawns...

Yes you should!!! The DB quests are by far the most interseting/well thought out quests in my opinion... sooooooooooo many ways to complete them... they allow you to be quite creative!

One other interesting point... when you pickpocket the arrows off him the arrows are NOT flagged as stolen property even if he catches you in the process (though you do get a 25g bounty).

The Image button is there to be used.

I'll get on the DB quests as soon as I get the chance. Gotta find a useless NPC to kill...

Now this really is a time that size does matter!! That was a really impressive haul that you bagged!

What level are you? I was level 20.

What effect does the arrow of qualms have?

I forgot to mention in the first post that they aren't marked as stolen, I was rather surprised about that.

What did you do to get those fancy arrows? Murder or pickpocket?

Just pickpocketed him while he was asleep. He seems to be there every night after about 1am.

I tried sleeping through 4 days to see if he regenerated magic arrows, but when I went back, all he had left were the unenchanted arrows that I hadn't bothered taking first time round.

It looks like he might be a one off level-dependant opportunity. Though I will try clearing him out of everything, and see if he does eventually respawn any.

The character I was playing at the time was at level 38 I think. Arrows of qualms demoralize.

I have gone back a few times since first looting this guy and after about three weeks (Cyrodiil time) nothing has respawned.

I tried folllowing him around to see what he does/where he goes, but he just hangs out at Silverhome all day.

It appears that he does get more magic arrows. I have gone up one or two levels since I first pickpocketed him, and he does only have 5 this time, so maybe he keeps getting more as you go up levels, rather than over time?

In game time, it's prob only been a couple of weeks.

I went back, having since gone up 3 levels and there havent been any new arrows as of yet. Ill keep checking though.

I had also started a new character. At level one he just has the 5 steel arrows and gold.

I landed up deciding that I didn't want to go to Bravil at that point (the person I wanted to see wasn't available at the time), so restored a save. Then went back the next morning (game time), after I'd leveled up from level 23 to 24, and he had a 2nd set of magic arrows for me to collect.

And even if I try all sorts of variations, it's always the same types and same numbers. It seems to be set as to what, and how many, arrows you get from him as you level up. I guess if you haven't previously collected arrows off him, he just holds on to them for you, until you come a-pickpocketing by! V. gentlemanly of him!! :D

Still haven't worked out the deal with the lady at Pell's Gate, she's not so easy to pickpocket, and have been by there for a while now. Though as I just got the Clavicus Vile quest, I'm due to call by. (Can't really decide if I want to kill Umbra, as apparently she is a hero!)

I agree with your "accumulation of arrows" hypothesis.... That must be why I got so many when going in around level 38 for the first time.

Ill report back with my new character (that was me as a guest who made the last post on the first page of the thread) since at level one there is nothing but the 5 steel arrows.

Ill also check into the Pells gate gall too... Unfortunately with my other characters I "took her out" for the loot without thinking of stuff respawning.

What still gets me about the fellow at Silverhome is that the arrows aren't marked as stolen, and even though you have to pick a lock to get to the third floor, it isnt tresspassing since you can "wait."

Have just been "experimenting" with Pell's Gate Gall (I like that name!).

It seems that the type of arrow, and when it shows up, is fixed. But the number of arrows seems to mostly be 5-6, and up to 7 at the higher levels. However I suspect that it's fixed at some point.

They were always accumulative, and the same as Jean-Pierre, once you have them, they are not marked as stolen property.

I restored previous old levels that I still had (this is going to show that I haven't been keeping up with my old saves housekeeping!), and this is what I got (remember they were accumulative, so the later levels also had all arrows from the earlier levels):

Level 7:
5 Arrows Withering

Level 14:
6 Arrows Burning
5 Arrows Dispel

Level 18-23:
5 Arrows Immolation (65 pts, 10'!)
6 Arrows Jinxing
6 - 7 Arrows Sunlight

Level 24 (my current level):
This level had the same arrows, but at this level, I was getting 12 Arrows of Sunlight. (Though my most recent level 24 save for some reason, every time, got none of the Arrows of Sunlight, but still all of the others.) I suspect that Level 24 gives you a 2nd set of Arrows of Sunlight, making it up to 12.

So my theory is that once you go up another level where you are due to get another batch of arrows, the numbers of arrows at previous levels are fixed. Sound plausible??

Gruntler, I'll be interested to hear how you get on with Pell's Gate Gall as well as Jean-Pierre, esp with your new char.

Whatsup guys,

I've been trying to pickpocket Lemonds (I'm at level 30) in his sleep and it seems I can never retrieve more than one group of arrows without waking him up and discovering me, even when I'm wearing a get-up with 100% accumulative chameleon. I'm an expert in sneak and pretty high with security, what the F am I doing wrong?

And don't answer if you feel this second query is too 'noobish', but what's the deal with Pell's Gate Gall? This another character like Lemonds or is it a chest of some sort?

Thanks crew
I got two words for ya.....let's make this sh*t happen!

Not too sure why you can't pickpocket Lemonds, I only have 59 sneak, and I can now pickpocket him while he's standing around chatting to the bartender! (As long as I make sure I'm in a spot that keeps me hidden from the bartender.)

I tend to only take one set of arrows at a time and then save before trying to take the next lot, but that was mostly when I was lower sneak, at 59 I find him really easy going.

Pell's Gate Gall appears to be another like Lemonds. She wanders around Pell's Gate (small settlement south of Imperial City Waterfront, on the mainland), she's the one that has the quiver of arrows on her back. She is a damn site harder to pickpocket I've found, but I can still get her within a few tries now. Haven't yet managed to catch her sleeping, so you do need to sneak up on her.

I picked some arrows with my Thief character, don't remember who I picked, that had the following stats.

40 pts shock damage for 2 seconds 10 ft radius
60 pts frost damage
60 pts fire damage

I must have picked them pretty early in the game (I couldn't have been too much over level 15) because they served me well for the remainder of the game (thanks to item duping).
