Any news on the creation kit?
Any news on the creation kit?
I hate making these threads as much as I hate other people making these kind of threads, but I can't find any information whatsoever regarding the creation kit and I was wondering if anyone else has found anything noteworthy.

Re: Any news on the creation kit?
It was supposed to come out the same week as Patch 1.2, but no more news on that front yet.
Re: Any news on the creation kit?
Well patch 1.2 was just released today. So I assume we should be expecting it soon.

Re: Any news on the creation kit?
The Bethblog has information on the Creation Kit (and more): http://www.bethblog.com/index.php/2011/ ... orking-on/
Creation Kit (PC Only) — Beginning in January, PC players will be able to download the same development tools we used at Bethesda Game Studios to create Skyrim. In tandem with the Creation Kit’s release, we will roll out a new Wiki and videos to help you get started. It also features something we think you’re going to love…
Steam Workshop (PC Only) – We’re excited to share news that we’ve been working closely with Valve to integrate Steam Workshop into the Creation Kit. Using the Workshop, you’ll have free user content with the push of a button. The Creation Kit will bundle your mod and upload it to the Workshop, where everyone can browse, rate, and flag mods for download. You’ll be able to do this from any web device, including your smartphone. Like a live Netflix queue, when you fire up Skyrim, mods you flagged will be automatically downloaded and installed. Everyone here is really excited about the opportunities and possibilities this opens up for our entire community.
Prefer to use existing modding sites? Not a problem. You’ll still be able to upload/share/access Skyrim mods on fan-created mod sites.
Intolerance kills. RIP, FuzzyMage.
Re: Any news on the creation kit?
Of course. Steams hands into another thing I don't want to be steam related. I'll stick with the nexus..

I wonder if they will ever be able to mod-enable the consoles... Well, I suppose it's enough to know they're trying, for now.

Re: Any news on the creation kit?
Hopefully the steam stuff will remain voluntary.
Sucks though, as I bet that's why it was delayed.

January?!?
Oh well, at least it seems like it's not completely unreasonable to hope that it will be possible to use that kit to all the broken stuff in this game...

Re: Any news on the creation kit?
It should, since it says only the flagged mods would be downloaded. Simple solution is not to flag mods on Steam.Rivina666 wrote:Hopefully the steam stuff will remain voluntary.

Although I can see why they might want to do this. If it's steam, and the downloads are automatic, then hopefully that will reduce the chances of bugs just because something didn't download properly. Also easier for modders to get their creations out there, if they choose to use this function. However, it seems like the whole thing IS optional, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Thanks!
Now, once the end of January rolls around, we'll get the message, "We're working hard on it still. Looks like February."

You mean I won't have to keep pulling up a hex editor any time I want to make a change that SkyEdit doesn't support?

Re: Any news on the creation kit?
Let me guess... you took your character to the location of the cup, verified that it existed, went to the CS and removed it, loaded your save game, and it was still there? Removing clutter from a room that has already loaded for your character won't actually make those items vanish once you load your mod. If you try visiting the location of the cup you removed with a character who has never been to that location, I bet you'll see that the cup is gone.Utrechter wrote:I've started with a tutorial on modding Oblivion, but even the easiest things like deleting a cup didn't show up in game... :/
If you urgently need a cup (or anything else) to disappear whether or not it has been loaded, your best bet is probably to actively disable it.
It's especially infuriating when you do something like try to change the angle of a door and realize it's correct in your mod, but plain wrong for your character...

Re: Any news on the creation kit?
So here it is the end of January (only 4 days left) do you think they'll make their self-imposed deadline or push it back again?

Re: Any news on the creation kit?
I'm actually hoping they'll wait til after this weekend, because I've got my daughter's birthday party to host tomorrow, and we're going skiing on Sunday, but I'd hate to be 3 days late in fixing the dirty parts of the 3 mods I already uploaded...

Re: Any news on the creation kit?
The 1st of Feb has come and in two hours it will be gone for us Aussies, where's the Creation Kit we were promised for a January Release? Even if we're over half a day ahead of the US, it should have come by now (and I know that sounds impatient). Any news on the hold up?

Re: Any news on the creation kit?
I can empathise with your cynicism, but still, the CK will be worth it when it comes out and perfection is unattainable and overrated. Set the bar way too high and when you fail you'll still have done a decent job an' all.

From the Wiki:
Clicky.
But also, check this video out. It doesn't give a release date, but it does showcase the CK as well as the Steam Workshop.Bethesda has confirmed that the Creation Kit may not be made publicly available sometime in January 2012 as previously stated but in early February.
Clicky.
