Re: Things you DON'T like about Skyrim
My bloody horses keep dying! I had one wander off a waterfall when I stopped the pick a nirnroot.
Bandits killed one and a dragon killed another. They seem to attack the horse first and keep attacking it even after I dismount and start whacking them with my greatsword.
I may have to change my name from Yoren Two-Hands to Yoren Horse-Killer.

All the Daedric items I have received have been pretty weak, honestly. I haven't got them all though.Akiraka wrote:Sad I've got more to add to this.
I didn't really mind the shortness of the Companion's questline, but some of these quests really, really suck.W.T.F.Spoiler:

Jesus Christ. Words cannot describe... I walked in to Arcadia's Cauldron in Whiterun. I made a few sales, and then she tells me, "I bet a hardy Nord like you doesn't need the cureall, huh? How about an invisibility potion?" What does it say when NPCs are getting our race wrong? I'm a Dunmer.

Re: Things you DON'T like about Skyrim
The amount of quest breaking bugs I've been coming across lately are a real downer. I can no longer do Vaermina's or finish the Larceny one. Drinking my crafted health potions for 24pts seems to heal me, but then freezes the game. So BUGS are a big complaint right now. I don't know if I was lucky or what, but I didn't get anywhere near this many bugs in Oblivion.
I don't get why some of you complain about fast travel when you don't have to use it, and it can potentially solve tons of problems. I get stuck between rocks some times an can just zip somewhere else to fix it. I would have loved it in morrowind because 5min into the game once I glitched into a rope and couldn't get out, something fast travel would have saved me from doing that tedious character creation part again.
I wish quest arrows weren't so needed in skyrim. I want the NCP to tell me where I need to go, or give me something to read, not just updating my quest log and leaving me in the dark til I check.
I also feel the need to complain about how the province of Skyrim was supposed to be about equal to Cyrodil in terms of size. I find this to just not to be true. All because of those gorram mountains!!! I think the mountains actually make it feel smaller because there are fewer square miles/pixels/kilometers to actually walk on. They also make me more prone to using fast travel because I don't have forever to navigate them. All that comes from an avid ingame mountain climber. I climbed to the top of the Throat of the World before I was supposed to and all I got from it were some stupid ebony veins.
Don't get me wrong I love the game, but today was the worst. I felt like I was playing Russian Roulette with those health potions of mine. "Will this be the one that freezes the game?" "No? Good, now what about this o-"

Re: Things you DON'T like about Skyrim
No quests broken here after 100+ hours. It does seem to be luck somewhat though. On PC you can fix them anyway, so I don't worry too much.Cuddle_Fish wrote:The amount of quest breaking bugs I've been coming across lately are a real downer. Mainly it's because Morrowind had alternative methods of travel that were more immersive. Oblivion had nothing, so you either fast traveled or walked everywhere, which obviously would be tedious. Skyrim is a little better with the carriages, but still, it needs mark and recall spells as well as intervention spells so you can get around better without fast travel. We complain because the only alternative is too far the other way, in other words.Cuddle_Fish wrote:I don't get why some of you complain about fast travel when you don't have to use it, and it can potentially solve tons of problems. As for the "saving you from being stuck" thing, on the PC you just type "tcl" into the console and boom, you're free.
The mountains aren't dead land though, all of them can be climbed and there is cool stuff on top and along the sides. I don't find Skyrim to be smaller than Cyrodiil at all. If anything I think it feels larger.Cuddle_Fish wrote:I also feel the need to complain about how the province of Skyrim was supposed to be about equal to Cyrodil in terms of size. Re: Things you DON'T like about Skyrim
Part 2
-Very limited, short Journal/Quest Logs (especialy for Misc. quests)
-Equipment/invetory/storage management. Especialy when you put items to any chest you have very long list to manage. and sometimes you accidently press 'take all' key (R) which is also same with 'drop/put' key so after long inventory/strorage management when you press 'R' accidentaly all of your efforts become ruined.
-Limited NPC speeches/reactions. i.e. you become thane but guards still warn you about like 'common rabble' -may be a bug-
-Quest bugs which prevents you play in free form -ahh what will happen if i enter this ruin in wilderness if I accidentaly crashes an another quest-
-Limited factions; two civil war, five regular faction...each hold acts as a minor faction but...they are usualy 'one quest, one rank' factions
also you can't see your rank in character's rank in character menus. I prefer to see my character ranks in factions instead of number of animals I killed
-Marriage limitations.... no khajit partner! peh!
-stupid followers who moves forward just in front of your enemy while you are attacking
-having no spears!
-just one specific perk for dagger/shortblade...
-dual wielding magic is difficult at least for PC. game intent to cast spells seperately.
-graphics of northen area and water

Re: Things you DON'T like about Skyrim
I absolutely HATE the smithing and enchanting system. It is so absolutely overpowered it dwarfs all loot found in the game. This would be acceptable if it were a challenging skill but it is the easiest skill to upgrade. 20 to 100 in a matter of hours.
This would be fine if I didn't care about smithing but I was really looking forward to it, now I don't even bother touching it.
The only other things would be the fact that 1/2 of npcs have no sleep cycle. They are constantly awake making thievery possible but horribly unsatisfying in those households. I also wish they would have given companions more character like in New Vegas.. To me they are just cargo mules and dps sponges.

You are are not playing Skyrim the way it was meant if you smith daggers to get 100 smithing a couple of hours into the game.

If you do that you're power leveling, which will of course ruin balance.kl0511 wrote:20 to 100 in a matter of hours.

Re: Things you DON'T like about Skyrim
its just buggy stuff for me at the moment, which i know will get fixed, but on two seperate characters now when im trying to do the companions quests, vilkas and that other dude constantly run towards me and start conversation. and i have to run away from them because i cant get out of jorvaskr without having to back out of a convo 20 times. Also my windhelm house, which i was so happy to get, ended up being bugged up also.
On a more serious side though, i dont like the fact there is no way to change hair in game. Also, even though they got the monsters being leveled and better than others right, the weapons, daedric artifacts specifically feel realllllllly weak to me. the quests for the artifacts as well.

My guy really needs a haircut. It made sense for his hair to be messy at the start of the game, now it just looks out of place.
Do you mind? I'm doing the fishstick. It's a very delicate state of mind.

YES YES YES
Man it takes out a lot of role-playing opportunities not being able to do this. I want to change face-paint and hair as my character progresses through the story. The only case I can think of where it wouldn't make sense, is with most of the Argonian "hair"-styles (trim the horns a bit?), and even there I'm sure it wouldn't have been that big a suspension of disbelief.

Re: Things you DON'T like about Skyrim
I saw someone else mention this but the map...dear god, the map. I can't make head or tails of this thing with the clouds and the fact that it's not directly overhead. Sometimes I 'm searching around for 3 to 4 times longer than I should be to find what I want.
Also, the fact that they put the journal into the pause menu but everything else into pressing B (on the xbox) and sometimes when I go into the B menu, I accidentally hit down and have to go back to gameplay and press it again because you can't go back to the menu in the map. Why couldn't they just have it set like in Oblivion where everything is in one set and you just use the triggers to go back and forth?
And the dragons. I loved them at first, but I've got about 40 dragon souls just sitting in there because I can't do anything with them and no matter where I go or what I do they attack. I'm just trying to sell a couple items, oh wait I can't, dragons.
Also, the uninteresting plot lines to quests. Now maybe this is just me but it seemed like at least with the companions, the college of winterhold and the thieves guild, nothing happened and then the quest line ended.

I only have one problem with Skyrim, the Dark Brotherhood Facemask doesn't show up on male characters.. They better have a fix for that because the facemask is the only reason most people wanted the armor.
