Re: Where do you live?
I live in one of the main towns in the South-East of England, it's suppose to be one of the fastest growing towns in the entire country. It's alright here... bit boring due to the lack of entertainment, but London is not far away at all and Brighton is not that much of a trek either.
We do have a ridiculously high rate of single mothers and pikeys though... lots of people on the doll, especially near where I live. I will say though that If your going to visit England don't go anywhere outside the south east/London area, this is solely due to the horrible accents of the inhabitants outside those areas.

I live in the country and my neighbours are farmers. I don't live on a farm though.

Re: Where do you live?
I was a bit confused as I thought that a 'suburb' was a part of a town. I chose Suburbs though.

Re: Where do you live?
I live in a town of about 10,000. We're the parish seat (I live in Louisiana, so it's 'parishes', not 'counties') and I really like it here. Although, I find it nice to get out every once in a while. The biggest nearby city is only 20 or so minutes away.

For the past six years, I've lived in a very small university town named Ave Maria, located in south Florida. Its not bad but my true home shall forever be Chicago Illinois.

Re: Where do you live?
Small town near a city in southern New England, USA.
It's nice because the town itself is quiet, but if you need something from a store or something, there's a city 5 minutes away.

Re: Where do you live?
I've found that this really depends on where you live. The idea of the "suburb" really developed in France but took off here in America, which is littered with them. To my US mind, a suburb is a dense area of houses, businesses, and streets away from the city full of (predominantly) white, middle- and high-class families. It's usually the sort of thing you see portrayed in most US TV shows. Of course, every time I am forced to go through a suburb I just think to myself, "Little boxes on the hillside..."Chaz96719B wrote:I was a bit confused as I thought that a 'suburb' was a part of a town. I grew up in a city, and right now I live in an urban area. That is, I live near a very populated "inner city" just outside of a major city (New York City).

Re: Where do you live?
I love my home town. I live in the 'burbs. While the state capitol is a mere 2hr walk away from my house the area is surrounded by farms not just a few miles away. We got the first day of hunting season off in high school. Not that the capitol is much of one, but we're all rural little people at heart. Especially when you add on to the hunting season thing that the biggest event of the year is the Farm Show.
Right now I live in a college town with 45,000 other students.
What do you do with 30 horses?

Where's the "closet" option?

Re: Where do you live?
Urban, definitely. I'd love to live in a small town for a while, though.

Re: Where do you live?
If we're toying with definitions, the township I live in is technically part of the greater Arnhem urban area. So I guess it's a suburb?

Re: Where do you live?
I live in the last line of suburbia before the city hits. I justify my listed location based on my attendance of a school in DC proper. It's a touchy subject, often, when someone says they're from DC but they're really from the inside-the-beltway suburbs (like Bethesda, for example). What we can all agree on is that we're superior to commuters from outside the beltway though.

Somewhere between Village and farm,
The whole area is small villages, farms, and tiny towns.

Re: Where do you live?
Krakow (or Cracow, as you English speaking devils like to call it) - the second largest city in Poland. It's old, beautiful and all around a fantastic place to live. Population is somewhere between 750K and 850K, and almost 200K of that are university students. My place is about 4km from the Main Market - I guess in London that would put me right in the centre, but Krakow's Old Town is very compact, so I'm near the line where Krakow proper becomes suburbs of Krakow. Still, I picked "urban". I don't think you can call it "suburbs" when you live on the 8th floor.
