Howdy, Y'all. Control help.

Post by Eltee »

Hey, guys. i have a question regarding Daggerfall. I do not have the game, but a close friend of mine has the game. He has been having some trouble with the default control scheme. To any and all UESP Daggerfall players, what do you find is the optimal control scheme?
Thanks in advance.

I also had some trouble with the controls at first, but luckily the guys here helped me adjust them a little. Definitely turn up mouse sensitivity and change the mouse to view based. I also changed most of the keys to resemble Oblivion and Morrowind, although they are slightly different, they now feel more natural.

Here's my recommendation for re-mapping the keys:

Forward: W Float up: PageUp
Reverse: S Float down: PageDown
Turn left: 1 Jump: Spacebar
Slide left: A Crouch: Ctrl
Turn right: 3 Slide: Caps
Slide right: D Run: LShift

Rest: A
Transport: T
Steal mode: F1
Grab mode: F2
Info mode: F3
Talk mode: F4

Cast spell: Backspace
Recast spell: Q
Abort spell: X
Use magic item: U
Ready weapon: F
Swing weapon: M 2
Switch hand: C
Status: I
Character sheet: F5
Inventory: F6
Activate center object: E
Activate cursor: Numlock
Look up: Insert
Look down: Delete
Center view: Home
Sneak: Alt
Logbook: L
Notebook: N
Automap: M
Travel map: Y

Also: In the controls menu click the button labeled "Mouse" and change the view from "Cursor" to "View". Hope I helpled.

^ What mars said. I also find it much easier in this game to always hold the right mouse button when fighting instead of trying to time the right mouse button with your attacks
Let's play some APB Reloaded Mount & Blade: Warband APB Reloaded Mech Warrior Online APB Reloaded Battlefield 4 SKYRIM!

The basics for me:

WASD for movements
SHIFT + A/D = Strafe Left/Right
TAB = Inventory (was comfy because it was like oblivion :))
F5 = Character Sheet (Stayed the same)
1 = Draw/Sheate weapon (also similar to oblivion hotkeys)
2 = change hand (" " ")
ALT = Look around
V = Center look
E = JUMP! (like oblivion)
Up/Down arrow keys = Float up/down
Mouse 1 = Interact
C = Spell menu

Wanted something I was used to with modern games and that were easy to get to 8-)
Everything else is pretty much the same
