What race are you?
Now I've had a look through the first 5 pages of the 'Skyrim General' forums and didn't find a topic like this. So one that exists is either in the wrong place or hasn't been seen to in a while. So I'll start a new one.
My question is, what race are you playing as in Skyrim? Why? What races do you usually play as in TES games?
For me, I'm a Breton, as I love magic, and also how un-attatched they seem to all the arguments involving the Nords and Imperials. They strike me as the one in the middle trying to be peacemaker in the war.
Of course, if you play as two characters, or more, please vote for more than one option.

I largely play as Khajiit. They have all the bonuses I need, and are great for brawling. High sneak skill also helps with my assassination contracts.

Re: What race are you?
I have five characters in mind. The first, second (a very brief one, purely evil, I'm making it in order to get the bounty achievement, I won't even do the main quest with it) and fourth are going to be Bretons: a shadow spellsword and two pure mages; the third is going to be a Nord warrior; the fifth an Imperial thief/assassin.

Re: What race are you?
Lots of khajiit I see.
*cough* Furries! *cough*
Like in Morrowind where I was almost never a dark elf, and in Oblivion I was almost never an imperial, in Skyrim I doubt I'll ever be a nord more than twice (even though I almost always was a nord in both Morrowind and Oblivion because I'm an IRL nord
) simply because I just need to be a special snowflake in my games.

If they weren't nords, but instead dunmer or redguards, nobody would call them "racist".

My first character is a Nord, because that's what fits the character of Dovahkiin best, IMO, but I intend to make at least one character using every race.

Redguard warrior, Breton mage, Imperial thief.
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.

I'm playing a Nord for the first time ever. I usually play as a bosmer, but I really liked the way Nords look

Nords have always been my race throughout. Absolutely stoned when I found out this game was going to be in Skyrim.

Re: What race are you?
Playing a Nord as my main character. When I grow tired of him I play as a Dunmer. I mained a Dunmer in Morrowind and so my side characters in Oblivion and Skyrim are Dunmers in tribute to him.
Do you mind? I'm doing the fishstick. It's a very delicate state of mind.

Re: What race are you?
I play as all of em except redgaurd, nord, and imperial XD
Bosmer: sira and durion cartel, well i love wood elves
Orc: renco gro-aren, brute character
Argonian: rokon orichiami, easily my favorite race
Breton: miko afrancius, high sorceress character, and used as my good aligned mage
Khajiit: cid, unarmed/bows just goes story wise with Rokon
Dunmer: Fëanáro Silimaurë, used as a spellblade, evil aligned
Aldmer: Ekado Laryaeil, Warlock, used as my evil aligned mage
The other 3 races idk, but i naturally just dont like. Redgaurds ive had some ideas for another character, but still working on it. Imperials never enjoyed, same goes for nords.

Re: What race are you?
Bretons and Argonians would be my favorite. Bretons... I guess they're bonuses and racial skills helped make the type of character I enjoy playing, I just wish they were less over powered, lucky they're not as godly in Skyrim. Argonians cause... they're lizards? Lizards/dinosaurs, it's all awesome. xP
I like Khajiits as well, I've just never actually played one... I guess Imperials are also interesting.
To be honest, it took some time too figure what races I actually liked (and even now I'm a bit uncertain). From a gameplay standpoint it was an annoyingly difficult choice.

The thing is that they do, but now it lasts for 60 seconds and you can cast it only once a day.JoeyDestructo wrote:it took till I fought my 3rd dragon priest that I realized Bretons didnt have 50% resist magic again.....

Re: What race are you?
As always, my first character is a Dunmer Battlemage more focused on magic. Next I'll probably make a DB assassin, probably a Bosmer or Khajiit.

Re: What race are you?
I chose Nord. Dunmer are my favored people, but I usually choose my first character based on the setting. I felt it appropriate to be a Son of Skyrim.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

My favorite characters would have to be my Nord warrior and my jack of all trades Dunmer.

Re: What race are you?
I'd always been a faithful Dunmer player, but something about their appearance, disposition, and place in society in Skyrim didn't attract me. Thus, I started up a faithful Breton mage. I intended on having a second character that was to be strictly Mer, but none of the non-human races had any appeal for me in Skyrim, so I pulled out an Imperial archer.
I missed it here.

Re: What race are you?
I play as a Dunmer predominately, with also an Altmer and Nord as Major Characters too, along with the 2-3 Dunmer. I'd like to roll a character of every race eventually though.
Re: What race are you?
My first character was a mage Dunmer, I'm still very fond of the Dunmer from my Morrowind days.
I've also made an Argonian sneak but I haven't put that many hours into him yet, but there's just something appealing about the lizardfolk in Skyrim, they're back to looking really cool.
