High Level Loot ?!
Okay, so I am level 33 ... Is it possible to find enchanted Daedric and/ or Dragonplate armour ? I am wearing a full set of Dragonplate and using a Daedric Greatsword, and I know that I could enchant them myself, but I am just curious if it's possible to find them.
EDIT: Just so no one else decides to tell me to get my smithing to 100 again .. I ALREADY HAVE 100 SMITHING. I HAVE MY FULL SET OF DRAGONPLATE ARMOUR UPGRADED TO LEGENDARY.

Re: High Level Loot ?!
I am level 51 and have NEVER came across an enemy using a daedric weapon. I have FOUND a daedric sword in a chest, and some dragon armor, but it is VERY uncommon. I would say it probably has about a less than 1 percent chance of showing up. I have looted right at 800 chests and found ONE daedric weapon and 1-2 dragon armor pieces.

This is unfortunate ... I am starting to get a little irritated with Bethesda and how they did this game ... -____- Still a good game though, don't get me wrong.

Smithing should be free TBH or perhaps in the Heavy Armor and Light Armor tree (-shakes head no- Nah would be MOAR annoying that way)

Loot system is leaps and bounds better than Oblivion, where every single bandit had glass and daedric equipment after level 25. When I first found glass equipment in Skyrim, I actually felt like I accomplished something.mcjordalini wrote:This is unfortunate ... Re: High Level Loot ?!
And maybe I should introduce you to my original post ? I have 100 smithing pal. I am wearing a full set of Dragonplate and using a Daedric Greatsword. How else would I obtain those items at level 33 ? I spent my entire first hours playing the game mining, smithing, and hunting for the leather.Ronok wrote:mcjordalini wrote:This is unfortunate ... Seriously ... READ THE ORIGINAL POST ... derpa herpa derp.
I know what you mean too. When I first found my glass and ebony equipment in Skyrim I was like, "Woah ... This is awesome. Something expensive." ;p. My problem though, is that Bethesda can never, and I repeat NEVER get something 100% right. We complained in Oblivion that every bandit was wearing Glass and Daedric after level 25, which makes no sense ... A bandit doesn't wear high grade armour, a bandit wears leather, iron, and steel; weak equipment. But now in Skyrim, even at high levels bandits are STILL wearing Leather, Iron, and Steel ... I mean .. It'd be nice to find a Bandit Leader or maybe even a Draugr(?) with some (not all) pieces of Daedric, Glass, or even maybe (at very high levels) Dragonplate/ scale. It'd be even nice to find a table with a piece or two of really sexy enchanted Daedric, etc. Idk ... The game doesn't have a balance. It basically forces you to get 100 in Smithing if you want high grade equipment, and then 100 in Enchanting if you want extremely good equipment. It's ridiculous ...Duderino Abides wrote:Loot system is leaps and bounds better than Oblivion, where every single bandit had glass and daedric equipment after level 25. Need quick cash? Loot dwemer ruin -> grab all the otherwise useless scrap metal -> find smelter -> smelt into dwarven ingots -> turn into dwarven bows (cheapest in terms of items needed) -> find grindstone -> upgrade -> (optional) enchant -> sell and become silly rich after you've leveled up majorly. Also good because dwarf bots drop soul gems, which are absolutely essential to enchanting.
Even if you don't put a single perk into smithing or speechcraft, selling ~50 flawless dwarven bows to everyone you can in Skyrim means you probably don't need to worry about gold again. Unless you're using trainers for >50 skills, which is ludicrous and thus needs this ludicrous method to compensate.
Want to laugh as three giants are pounding on your head? Save dragon parts -> turn into dragon armor -> upgrade. If you really go at training smithing to 100 right from the get-go, and fight a handful of dragons, you can be nearly invulnerable by low-level (or at least actually have a chance to survive if you're playing Expert or Master difficulty!).
Note that if you want a full suit of dwarven armor, check the UESP Wiki's smithing page, under Notes, for a neat and useful thing (...of particular interest to smiths...). You'll know it when you see it. My heavy armor skill is somewhere between 60-70 -- and I have about half the perks in it -- and whereas legendary dragon armor is about 180, legendary dwarven armor is about 150, meaning with this useful thing of particular interest to smiths it's not far behind.

This might surprise you, but not everyone spends 8-12 hours a day sitting in front of a computer.
Some of us have jobs and girlfriends.
Also, there's no need to be so antagonistic. I've seen you acting like this in other threads. Not to mini-mod, but if you keep that behavior up, you might be seeing the bottom end of an admin's boot. Just sayin'.
And no, I'm not going to keep responding to your flame bait/trolling, for I am more mature than that. Have a good day.

This is why I love Skyrim. At level 16 in Oblivion, half of what your level is, since they raised the soft-level cap, you wouldn't be encountering Daedric yet, and if you still don't find it at level 40+, just remember what it felt like to finally get Daedric in Morrowind. Yep, it's amazing.

IMO, it's GOOD that it makes you use smithing to obtain the best gear before it starts showing up in random loot. It's in the game for a reason, and if the good gear were to drop after a measly 25 levels in (Which is very easy to do), smithing would have little to no point besides upgrading weapons and armor on the bench/grindstone.
Besides, the reason why 100 should offer the best of the best, is cause it's called payoff. If I were to toil to gain 100 in a skill, and find out what I can do is mediocre; I'd be foaming.
And on a closing note, hey, at least mobs are now consistent in what they wear. = )

I'm heading for 60. I've found something like 5 sets of Glass plus lots of weaponry. Found 1 Ebony helm but no other Ebony armour. Lots of Ebony weapons. Found 2 pieces of Daedric body armour, a Daedric Sword and a Daedric Bow. Thinking I'll need to smith to get a full set of Daedric Armour.mcjordalini wrote:Good Lord ... Seriously ? But what if someone doesn't want to be proficient in Smithing. That's what I am saying. Bethesda is basically saying this,
"Hey, no Dragon armour of any sorts for anyone who doesn't want to train Smithing".
Bethesda knows that people LOVE to roleplay in their games, and Smithing does NOT suit the role of a thief, or mage, or any other kind of arch-type you can think of.
I realize that it's good that high level gear isn't dropping after 25, and I am VERY glad that they changed that this time around. But it'd be nice to have the high level gear (this includes enchanted versions and plain versions) drop around mid - late 40's (Daedric), and late 50's, early 60's (Dragonplate/ scale).

Re: High Level Loot ?!
Actually, I think I heard in terms of Heavy armor, Daedric is still better, so that'd be switched. Not sure though, I haven't checked the stats.
If someone doesn't wanna train in smithing for the better gear, then they will have to wait til it drops. All smithing is, is a means to get the better gear earlier on before it naturally starts dropping (Along with optimizing that gear with improvements)...If you are looking at it with efficiency in mind though. It's meant to be a goal to achieve, and it's not really worth it if it's handed to you on a silver platter.
Besides, a mage wouldn't be smithing anyway, so if a mage wants to make some dragon armor..*smacks* YOU'RE A CLOTHIE!
Same goes for the rogue, if a person were to be realistic, a thief would wear nothing but leather. Since it's light, and won't rattle as you move; and offers decent protection.

Re: High Level Loot ?!
Well, I am wearing a set of Dragonplate Upgraded to Legendary, and the body armour alone has an armour rating of 204. Plus, it's required 100 Smithing, and Daedric is required 90. Are you sure that Daedric is better ? The base stats aren't even as good.
