Re: Things you DON'T like about Skyrim
I dislike not having a concrete path set for my character due to attribute and class removal. Some of the finishing moves are mildly crappy looking from the cimematic perspective as well.

Nobody's forcing you to use it. It's completely optional.Zinriel wrote:Length of quest lines, the pacing is too fast, i mean, 3 quests to be a member of the circle in the companions, they cut back the spells way too much, though i do like the differnt types of destruction magic, like the jets and the runes and walls etc, no custom spells, no bound armor, stuff all summons, UI is too "modern" for a medieval game, dragons too weak, kill scenes forcing you into 3rd person most of the time, too "falloutish" and the game world is too small, and fast travel...i dont like fast travel, i like proper emirsive transportations like in morrowind, they had the carriges, improvement over oblivion there, but id still prefer there too be lots of travel options like in morrowind

Aside from glitches I only have one minor greviance...lack of hairstyles for the Orc race* I wanted to give mine a bob cut I can understand the lack for Cats*fur* and Lizards*scales* but seriously the Elves had two such styles So why couldn't an Orc*Which are Elf kin* get one?*

The main quest. I really couldn't tell when I was on the final quest because

Many of the guild questlines seem really short. Congratulations! You're head of the Companions! Even though you've only been with us for, like, a week. Still!
Do you mind? I'm doing the fishstick. It's a very delicate state of mind.

Re: Things you DON'T like about Skyrim
My biggest complaint with Skyrim is storage. I hate how you cant view only weapons or only misc when you are searching in your storage( yes, I know you can put different categories into different containers but that is just arkward). They need a tab system similar to your/ a merchants inventory.
I also dont like not being able to make spells and whiterun is still wrecked 20 hours after the siege.
No complaints other than that. Its a fantastic game and I personally thought the main questline was great.

Re: Things you DON'T like about Skyrim
Horses are kind of meh. The actual riding is so much better in this game. The horse moves so nicely. But the fact that you can't walk backwards and attack while on the horse is just plain annoying. Also I hate how long it takes to get on and off the horse. It should seriously be 2x faster, if not more.
The lack of different raced kids. Where are the Argonian, Orc, and Khajiit children?
Not being able to jump off a certain height and attack while falling. Everytime I'm up higher than the enemy, and they are shooting arrows at me or something, I always want to jump off and do a power attack on my way down. That would be badass.
I really love the perk system. The only complaint is that some of the perks are just plain useless and/or take all the fun out of the skill itself. For a perfect example, Lockpicking. Why are all the perks making it "much easier" to unlock doors? That takes out the fun of lock picking. Not only that, but the other perks in that skill such as "Able to pick locks without being noticed" and "Automatically gives you a copy of a picked lock's key if it has one" take out the fun as well, not to even mention "Pick starts close to the lock opening position" and "Lockpicks never break." The only good perks in that skill are "Find more gold in chests" and "50% greater chance of finding special treasure." It is not worth it at all to put any perks in this skill.

Re: Things you DON'T like about Skyrim
Numinex!!! I want to fight Numinex. There's so much in game about him and Olaf and nothing. Since a dragon can be reborn with its soul and Numinex never lost his I was definitely looking forward to something. I went to the dungeon in Whiterun and looked in every corner for the secret burial ground of Numinex, but was disappointed. I expected him to be in the main quest. Also, I would love to talk to him and find out what really happened
I was hopping for way more quest related dragon fighting and dragon missions.
I also think the quests are too short and aren't as varied.
Overall I'm very happy with the game

Re: Things you DON'T like about Skyrim
Another one to [&@%!] about the quests here.
"Hi, I'm here to join the Companions."
"Great. Travel halfway across the land and kill a wolf."
"... ohhkaay... heroic... anyway, few days later, I'm back."
"Oh, hi New and Unimpressive Slayer of a Wolf, how would you like to go find one of the most treasured things we could have?"
"Whoo-hoo! That's more like it. Wow. Talk about quick promotion."
*halfway through that*
"Oh yeah. I figured you'd be ok with me turning into a motherflippin' werewolf what with my deep knowledge of your personality based on all the time we've spent together."
"Say whut?"
Seriously. The faction quests moved quicker than Usain Bolt heading for the toilet after a bad vindaloo. There does also seem to be a lack of variety.
Other things I didn't like
- Chirpy cockney Dunmer.
- Being unable to pay other people to do my own weapon improving and enchanting.
- The journal being a shadow of itself
- Lack of factions. Alright, it was a step-up from Oblivion, but I miss my faction-mad Morrowind. Bring back quests for the Imperial Cult. Also, being able to join the Talos Cult/the Thalmor would have been cool. More mini-factions. And so on. And the fame tracker...
Don't get me wrong, I love it. Its just there's plenty of things I'd have changed.

Re: Things you DON'T like about Skyrim
My horse, my horse, my horse
Does anyone else have a special needs horse? It seems like everytime I dismount he goes running headfirst into the closest camp of bad guys, aggroing an entire area and dying half the time.
He is a constant nuisance. Me being the badarse dragonborn and all, I really don't need him to come running to my defense when I am in battle or chasing down a dragon I am about to engage.
He also doesn't appear to know how to walk backwards like most horses. Best not get near the edge of a bridge, my only recourse is to take the 5 foot plunge of death or do the dismount dance.
Honestly I cannot believe how badly the horse was implemented. I end up having to ditch him halfway to my destination and burn up my stamina to get to my objective because if I bring his stupid arse along, it never ends well.

Re: Things you DON'T like about Skyrim
My main issue with it. No Khajiits in the cities and I've only met about 5 argonians that weren't bandits. And I had to kill one of them because he was a backstabbing jerk.born2beagator wrote:Another thing for me, not enough NPCs from the Beast races.
Has anyone even SEEN a khajiit bandit? I'd of thought they'd be the most common bandit npc, but I haven't seen any. Just nords, bosmer, orcs, dunmer and an argonian mage sprinkled in now and again.
I can't seem to find any details on the recent war between the Altmeri and Empire aside from that the Empire would've lost if not for that treaty.
Those are only big problems with it, 'side from those I frakkin' love the game.

I thought the map's cloud cover was supposed to dissipate, and the on-ground features become more detailed, as you opened up new areas. Sadly, this does not seem to be the case.Check-Nate wrote:found something i hate!! the map!!! maybe if they showed roads on the map i'd like it better

Even though I like almost everything about the game, the whole population thing is kinda suckish. Even though I understand why it's as it is, it sucks that 9/10 NPCS I meet are all Nords.

Re: Things you DON'T like about Skyrim
It's really bad -- even the paper map kinda ...sucks. I can't recall the detail of Oblivion's, but, one of the funnest and most amazing things about Morrowind to me was that, if I couldn't follow an NPC's directions to a far-away place, so long as it wasn't a cave, I could literally look on my paper map and find it.
Nothing like that anymore. If you look close enough, you can see some debris like pillars here and there on the in-game map in Skyrim, but besides the (very) few x's pointing out a couple things, the paper map is pointless.

Re: Things you DON'T like about Skyrim
While we're on the topic of the Maps, the in-game Local Map is an abomination. The Local Map in Oblivion was leagues ahead of Skyrim's black and white scrunched-up mess.

Yeah I also dislikes the map, moments ago when I last played. I couldn't see anything on the map because of all the clouds!
I hope it can be modded for the better...
Also I would like to see my playtime in the PC-version, I know you can se it in the savefiles on the PS3. But I haven't seen anything about playtime in the PC-version. Even not in the Stats-segment.
Anyway, I LOVE this game, second best TES-game! (Morrowind is the best, duh)

The subtitles are non-existent even when I turn them on. That, and the interface being so tiny, have ruined this game for me. I'm returning the game after 4 hours of play.
I miss Morrowind's character creation, skills and lvling, even if it is easy to abuse. What happened to the open-endedness?
The mission log sucks.
I'll pick up Oblivion and make that my last Elder Scrolls purchase. The series seems to be in decline based on what I've experienced and reading other players' complaints.

There's nothing for you to say. I don't have the best tv, but the voice volume should be audible w/o maximizing the volume. W/o efficient voice volume, an efficient quest log or sub-titles, the game is unplayable for me. I would have liked this game despite other complaints that amount to mere trivialities.born2beagator wrote:Wow, this could not be farther from the truth.
