You can play too much of an ES game?

Re: Anyone play Oblivion way too much when they first got it
I have played it way to much for 5 years. I averaged 15 hours a day when it came out (had vacation for two weeks). I have probably played about 50 characters.
I have done the same thing with Skyrim, averaging 14.5 hours a day, 175 hours since 12 Nov (also on vacation for two weeks).
I also do not play that many other video games.

First I warm up with CoD, a.k.a finger exercises (seriously, that's all it is)
. Then I get down to playing real games. It's REALLY hard, but I have to get through the first hour of my name with *gulp* no Skyrim.

Re: Anyone play Oblivion way too much when they first got it
Xfire says I've logged 462 hours. Add hours Xfire didn't count since I couldn't bother being online, plus the hours I originally spent on the Xbox playing it... I'd say it's 500+ In fact it might be close to 600+ ._.

Have 500+ hours put into the game so far (3 characters), and I *still* haven't tried everything!
Hopefully I can finish this character before Skyrim gets patched.

Re: Anyone play Oblivion way too much when they first got it
To be honest, I bought Oblivion when it first came out... and hated it. Played it for 20 minutes and took it out of my 360 angry at the world for making such a stupid purchase. Fully intended to return it the next day. Never did, though, and about 8 months later decided to give it another go.
I don't know what the deal was, but the second time I played for 11 or 12 hours straight. The sun was out when I started and down when I finally stopped. Fell in love with it after that. Must have done all the quests at least 10 times each, the main quest about 30 times. Moreover hours spent just goofing around in the game must number in the high thousands. Oblivion was just one of those games that never got old.

I put several hundred hours into oblivion and had roughly seven characters or so, I plan to the same with Skyrim.
Oblivion is such as awesome game!

Re: Anyone play Oblivion way too much when they first got it
I'm still playing it 4 hours a day, and enjoying myself. No, I have no social life (nor do I want one, relationships suck). With the recent disastrous patches Bethesda has released for Skyrim, I'm gonna continued to enjoy Oblivion for a while longer.

Re: Anyone play Oblivion way too much when they first got it
I have plugged over 1000 hours into oblivion since I got it for my 360 in 2006. Many hours on Xbox, and many hours on PC. It was just a game that was absolutely never-ending for me. I was still paying it daily until Skyrim's release. Once the content ran out, I played many amazing mods such as Elsweyr - Deserts of Anequina, FCOM, Archaeologists Guild, Lost paladins of the nine divines and do many other amazing community creations.

That's impressive! I've always wanted to devote myself to something but I never seem to be able to.Jeff wrote:I have played it way to much for 5 years. I averaged 15 hours a day when it came out (had vacation for two weeks). I have probably played about 50 characters.

I actually play much more Oblivion presently than I did when I first got it. I think I'll be able to play Skyrim more easily since the leveling system isn't so strict, I get distracted by things like that.
Re: Anyone play Oblivion way too much when they first got it
Very easily. I got bored of Oblivion after about 150 hours, and I got bored of Morrowind before I'd even completed more than 1 quest.FrostMage79x wrote:You can play too much of an ES game?

I certainly played it too much. I ditched baseball practice sometimes just to play Oblivion

I'm not sure I'd say getting bored of something after 150 hours is that easily thoughCaptain Future wrote:Very easily. I got bored of Oblivion after about 150 hours, and I got bored of Morrowind before I'd even completed more than 1 quest.FrostMage79x wrote:You can play too much of an ES game?

I'm still playing Oblivion pretty heavily. That's mostly because I don't have Skyrim yet though (XMas couldn't come sooner

Loved Oblivion. Still do.
Hooked on Skyrim now though
Spent over 1000+ hours on Oblivion, but eventually got bored like a month before Skyrim came out, 'cause I'd done everything LOL

Re: Anyone play Oblivion way too much when they first got it
Unfortunately, I completely missed when Oblivion first came out, and I couldn't get it for some time, due to me being ratehr bankrupt and I eventually got it in 2007. Needless to say, I played it non-stop, it was pretty much the only game I played for a few months straight, same went for Morrowind. I'm quite worried though as i'm already getting bored of Skyrim...
Re: Anyone play Oblivion way too much when they first got it
Absolutely. Hardly ever play it though, just doesn't feel the same.
Doin my own, thang, and if you got a problem with that
