IF There Was a Class System, What Class Would You Be ?

Post by mcjordalini »

Hello everyone. I am not sure if there is a thread for this already, 'cause I couldn't find one. It's very very clear now (and virtually has been since the games announcement) that the class system has been taken out of Skyrim. This encourages people to play around with the skills, etc. I would like to know though ... IF you could name your play-style[class], what would it be called, and for what reasons ? What main skills do you focus on, etc. If you have more than one character, feel free to post them as well. I will start. :)

This was my very first Skyrim Character I made when I got the game at midnight release.

This really isn't restricting myself however.. it's how I play :P and I prefer the choice to restrict myself and be a master or be a jack of all trades.

Name: Agrias
Level: 35
Race: Imperial
Class: Holy Knight
Primary Skills: Smithing, One-Handed, Heavy Armor, Block, Enchanting.

Born and raised in Cyrodiil as a good citizen of the Empire. Trained in the martial arts as a champion of the Nine Divines, later inducted into His Majesty's Secret Service (following the dissolution of the Blades), and sent to Skyrim to investigate and help quell the brewing rebellion.

She was originally envisioned as a tank character, able to absorb lots of punishment. But I discovered that through Smithing and One-Handed perks she can dish out a boatload of damage at the same time!

I know exactly what you mean. I prefer to restrict myself and follow my characters "rules". It creates a feeling of accomplishment when you master your desired skill, or trade.

I don't actually have the character yet since I'm waiting for the patch before I make it (I can't put up with the constant crashes and blue textures). But, what I have planned is something like this.

Class name: Exorcist
Skills: One-handed, Restoration, Conjuration, Alteration, Sneak, Enchanting.

I like supernatural stuff, and fighting undead in games like this is always fun, so may as well focus around that. Skyrim seems to have a lot of good opportunities for it as well. Other than that it's pretty much a work in progress... so might change some stuff later on.

Nice thread btw. :)

Race: Dunmer
Name: Jashal
"Class": Spellblade
Primary Skills: Destruction, Conjuration, One-Handed, Light Armor
Secondary Skills: Smithing, Enchanting
Primary Shout:Fus Ro Dah (offensive crowd control potential)

That's the character I'm going to play throughout the game, 'till I find every single little thing that I can and kick the Empire out of Skyrim for good.
Oh for the love of little green tomatoes...

Thanks guys ! :p I was hoping people would like the thread. It's fun to read how people play their characters and what they focus on. Something different every time (usually ..).

That isn't a class system. They're intended to be different-but-equal. All your doing is making a thread where people can give a job description to their characters. It is assumed that any skills they're already USING any skills they would want in a class. Having no limit nor conformity defeats the entire purpose.
I missed it here.

The skills that you focus on basically make a class. Depending on the skills.

Then give it a limit. There's what, 21 Skills? In Oblivion you had a Class set of 7, right? 7 per Archetype, 7 per Class. So a Class is like a personalized Archetype, if you will. Go with that or something, then. No need to trash the whole thread.

Name: Elise
Level: 35
Race: Nord
Class: Vagabond (there's really no all-encompassing title. Hunt for sustenance, smith for passion. Basically a blacksmith Ranger)
Skills: Two-Handed, Heavy Armor, Sneak, Archery, Smithing, Block, Lockpicking

Haha, thank you :] I edited my first post while you were posting this I guess >.> *chronic post editor*
Basically, I always play a character who's so sneaky that they get away with wearing Heavy Armor, and backstab with a claymore, because if nothing else, it's ironic and hilarious. I bolster the stealth game with archery, as well as hunt for role-playing purposes, and blacksmith either as a way to make some money, or, more importantly, simply out of love for the craft.

I like it ! Good class. (:

I've done an assassin type of character in Oblivion that used claymores, and that was fun. :p

I think a way to keep the classes specific might be that you can only list primary skills that you have actually spent perks in, anything you just "use" once in a while but don't have perks in could just be a secondary and not count as part of the classes main specialties. Sorry if thats already been thought of, i just don't like to see arguments on this board, it's normally such a nice place to come and visit after other boards i frequent that are full of nothing but foulness and aggression.

I was so angry that they removed the Sneak Attack Multiplier for two-handed weapons in Oblivion -_-

Also, very nice class. Pretty basic .. I like the feel of it. Might play something along the lines of that.

I am rather on your side on the matter, so I merely did a self imposed limit
