Re: DLC Speculation
Hello all, making my first post to say anything which gives me more opportunity to introduce the Thalmor to the delights of a knuckle sandwich would be a-ok by me.
I also think it would be nice if there was an opportunity to marry Elisif and make her High Queen of Skyrim, but that seems less than likely. Or marry into one of the clans and help promote their cause
All I know is May seems a long way away.

Re: DLC Speculation
What I would like to see in a DLC is an Arena like TES: IV, along with an expansion involving the either the Thalmor or a sudden return of the Dwemer

I didn't think of that but yes I think it really is as a matter of fact I wouldn't be suprised if that was a dlc.Mithrandir wrote:Is Orsinium a plausible location for a DLC?

It'd be pretty cool to visit the Orcs in their homeland. Just think of the environments and creatures you can come across in there

I think Orcs would be too different for it to be comfortable. Same thing with Black Marsh, we just haven't been orientated very well with Argonians.

Re: DLC Speculation
Yea youre right, not much is known about their land or the creatures that dwell in Orsinium
It would be nice if we could venture into northern Cyrodill as Skyrim attempts to expand further south (Unlikely but pretty cool)

Re: DLC Speculation
It depends. I think with Skyrim they'll be more ambitious and set out to use the biggest play space possible. Maybe the upper half of High Rock? I'd have to do some more research.

Re: DLC Speculation
It's the homeland of the Bretons, peaceful by nature, seeing as the Bretons overran the province by mainly trading with the native Nords. Redgaurds, at a point attacked Iliac Bay, yet refusing to side with the Orcs of Orsinium. Hope that helps a bit.

Inhabited by the Bretons, and within Orsinium, the Orcs.Mithrandir wrote:Well I don't know much about High Rock. Could you fill me in with a quick history lesson?
It's mostly made up of city-states like Daggerfall, Wayrest, and Evermore. They appear a lot within lore, with certain characters becoming Kings and Queens of different cities in High Rock. For instance, Barenziah was once Queen of Wayrest, as were several Septims.
It's a pretty interesting place. Oh yea, and it has the Adamantine Tower, the oldest building in Tamriel.

Re: DLC Speculation
well with no clipping, if you go east, there is a low texture version of morrowind, which could be a place holder for a DLC, and theres also a low texture cyrodiil, and i heard all the other provences are in the game, but im not 100%, but also before it was confirmed the game was set in skyrim, there were speculations of where it would be set, and the main one was "Skyrim with summerset isle as DLC/Expantion" and that was before any knowledge of the thalmor, and with the thalmor, summerset isle could fit in quite nicely, as in the end of the stormcloak questline ulfric says that they'll be taking the fight to the thamor

Re: DLC Speculation
Thalmor related. The best would be a macro DLC with map-wide effects like Broken Steel for FO3. Like Broken Steel, it could be set to trigger after the main quest (and/or Civil War), picking up with the Thalmor response to the appearance of the Dragon Bourne. The hero of Skyrim is too important to ignore: would the Thalmor attempt to co-opt him, assassinate him, or both? (Yes, it could make sense to do both).

Re: DLC Speculation
Definitely something with the Thalmor. The tension between them and any Nord in Skyrim is so thick you can cut it with a knife. And hopefully, that's JUST what we'll do to. Cut 'em with a knife.
Oh for the love of little green tomatoes...

Re: DLC Speculation
Then again, Thalmor have deep routes in all elements of Skyrim. They are in the college of Winterhold, the main quest, civil war quests and many side quests. With them integrated so heavily into the original game, would it be difficult to have them as enemies without completing EVERYTHING else first?
Any have any ideas, or work-arounds that could be probable? Any other ideas also! Could be extensions to the Blades/Thalmor rivalry!

Re: DLC Speculation
I think there will definitely be something to do with the Thalmor. But I wouldn't go so far to say as destroying them or defeating them entirely. I think it would be good to have a DLC in Orinsium (sp) As there seems to be a little subplot in the game that there strongholds in Skyrim, ran by orcs feel it is the only place they can stay in Skyrim.
For me, that seems the only plausible region they would expand upon, or a part of Summerset Isles.
I think the return of the Dwemer is unlikely as in the Septimus Sigmus Quest, he remarks that all the Dwemer are dead. Which could cause a few continuity errors. For the same reason I don't think they will include much of the Empire's higher rank as the Emperor is which, depending on how they focus the quests in DLC, could differ on which DB quests you have completed.
I think Thalmor Involvement is definite, but the DLC may not be directly aimed around them.

Re: DLC Speculation
Hmm some good points there. Regarding the emperor;
But yeah, I could wager that Thalmor involvement is most likely, but I agree that it won't be centralized around them. But still heavy involvement.
