Re: Sudden realization about Skyrims Timeline
Okay you have proven your point mer can live for hundreds of years if they aren't killed by disease, in battle, et cetra.
So we have come to solve every squabble in the village personally?

Thank's, now if all of you could sign a written statement proclaiming the incalculable superiority of mer to manish races I'll call it even.

No it isn't.JBeata wrote:Yes but the point is that the above passage appears to be inconstant with in game lore.Knight Captain Kerr wrote:Interview with a Dark ElfI do know that many elves live for hundreds of years.I've always been curious about the lifespan of elves. We all know they live much longer than all other races, is this true for the Dunmer as well? How many years would it take for you to be considered 'old'?
Alvur Relds: Well, I'm fifty, done my twenty years in the Service, and I'm in the prime of life. I expect another fifty good years, and then I'll be old, and slow, chatting with gaffers around the hearth for another twenty, thirty years. I've known mer still mind-sharp in their late hundreds, and heard of folk 200 and older. My family usually makes it to 120-130, providing we don't get sick or poked in the eye.
As for M'aiq, I'm hoping for a descendant to appear.

Yeah, I agree, it is consistent with in-game lore, because most Elves do not live hundreds or thousands of years, even though we know that Mer, in particular the Altmer, are capable of lifespans spanning over thousands of years. They aren't 'invincible' though.

All I meant was that the above statement theoretically applies to all mer.Knight Captain Kerr wrote:Okay you have proven your point mer can live for hundreds of years if they aren't killed by disease, in battle, et cetra.

Re: Sudden realization about Skyrims Timeline
That's true, it applies to all races. All will die before their natural lifespans by those causes, and many in Tamriel probably don't live out their days to a natural end, seeing as it is somewhat akin to the conditions of the Medieval period in our world? Still, we don't have much solid evidence on the lifespan of Khajiits (at least to my knowledge), so Ma'iq may very well be able to live 200+ years naturally.

Do you know if Khajiit have different lifespans depending on what sub race they are?

Not that I know of, but I'll do some more digging this evening. That also opens up th question, do different subspecies of Argonian also have different lifespans? Considering that their variation is supposedly due to how much Hist Sap they are exposed to as infants, I can somewhat believe that.

As to the M'aiq thing, one of his in game lines is something along the lines of "M'aiq is a family name, passed down by my father to me, and my grandfather to him"
