From my understanding, the higher a skill is, the harder it is to level (diminishing returns). Is this also the case with skills that are temporarily boosted due to an enchanted item you are wearing?
The reason that I'm asking this is that I'm wondering if the Alchemy enchanted gear that I put on before making potions/poisons is making it harder for me to get better at my alchemy skill.
Anybody know?
Do skill enchantments make it harder to level that skill?

I don't think so, as the Alchemy enchantments actually only affect the strength of your potions. Notice the text: "Makes potions or poisons you create ##% stronger" it doesn't affect your alchemy level, just the strength of what you create.

Yeah, but if my understanding is correct, it worked that way in Oblivion. If you were wearing tons of sneak boosting gear, the game's leveling system would ignore your ACTUAL sneak level, and give you increases based upon your current sneak level (including the boosts from the enchanted items you were wearing). Can someone confirm whether or not this is also the case in Skyrim?Musicman247 wrote:I don't think so, as the Alchemy enchantments actually only affect the strength of your potions. Just let me tell you this: I have boosted my heavy armor skill passed 100 with enchantments, and I get heavy armor skill ups fairly regularly regardless.MasterShadow wrote: Yeah, but if my understanding is correct, it worked that way in Oblivion.
