What Farlace said. "Don't tell me to save often, I'm a hardcore gamer, I don't need to save every bloody 30 seco..."*dead*. I wussed out and saved every time I took a dozen steps without something else charging towards me.
Although I would say that, after the first one, they were very samey. Once I discovered how to get to the stone, I wore all my speed-boosting gear and legged it past all the daedra.

I am, unfortunately, without any greeting. Apologies. *stares*

I also got scared when I approached the Kvatch gate and the sky started turning red. I immediately fast-traveled to Chorrol where I felt safe lol

Re: What was your reaction when...
WHile I moved up to Kvatch, while the air was turning Oblivious red, I got scared a little, thinking something like 'oh bugger'. Then I went into the gate, and first thought ''Where the hell am I now? Holy [&@%!], what's that! Wow, it looks pretty awesome. It's so typical to give 'evil places' dark colours and lava." I saved every few steps, and went back after I encountered some enemies and the few plants that grow there and nearly got killed, and being low on health potions. I reloaded the safe before I went into the gate, thinking I could also just go into Kvatch. I managed to kill the scamp, but when the dinosaur like deadra charged for me, I thought "I might just kill him." I got killed instead, while I was running away, heavily wounded.
I reloaded again, and went to Oblivion...
Later on I often just thought "Oh gaaawt, another one? I hope the sky won't turn... Bugger.... Lets get away, and hope the sky will be blue again." I actually only really liked the last, great gate.

Me: "So, how did you get this rich?"
Random Jarl: "I'm the Jarl and so were my father, grandfather, and his father. How about you?"
Me: "I've just spent some days chopping wood."

I was really suprised from frolicking around in the green fields and then going through a portal which was vastly different then any other scenery in the game.

Funnily enough, that's how I managed to join the Dark Brotherhood for the first time. I killed the guy, then days later, when I decided to sleep in an in, Lachance walked in.Achilleus wrote:Holy s***, what the hell have I stepped into! Hey, that's a man, running towards me. After going through the gate multiple times and realizing you have to activate the gate to get in, I slowly made my way through the landscape. Then I was hit by a fire turret and I completely panicked, running around at random until I found the right tower.

When I first entered a gate to Oblivion, it was at my friends house so it was a random world, he was at level 10 and I thought they were challenge levels.
I got killed 3 times just by 2 dremora and finally just snuck pass them.
Finally I realized ice is nice.

Re: What was your reaction when...
What a charming place! I like the look of the blood stained walls, and those charred bodies really add a touch of colour to the place.
Edit: I was more fascinated than afraid, dungeons however...
Urgh, I hated dungeons when I was younger. The one at pale pass really scared the crap out of me. The trolls didn't look scary or anything- it's just that they would attack you from behind. The zombie infested cave north of skingrad and harluns watch was pretty high up on the scare list too.
Nowdays, I laugh off dungeons in skyrim. But I [&@%!] hate houses that are possesed by evil daedra gods that kill and imprison people.

Re: What was your reaction when...
Just went through a gate for the first time yesterday. I was taken aback for a few seconds. That's an... interesting... atmosphere, to say the least. And then two Daedra decided to take exception to my presence.
My reaction? Get out of my way, you're ruining my sightseeing. A few seconds later, dead Daedra. To be honest, I was more vexed than anything else at that point. I don't like to be bothered with inconsequential things when I'm exploring new places.

Truth be told, this is what one of my initial impressions were. But only because I thought "This is how Diablo 3 should look like if they make it from a first-person perspective!"ThE cHoSeN oNe LDB3 wrote:I have entered hell.

My first reaction was:
"TOO MUCH RED!"
And I don't say that lightly. Red is my favourite colour.

Re: What was your reaction when...
First look at the Oblivion realm.. was exciting. but could not handle more than 10 creatures after entering it.. So ran back to Cyrodil...got full health and then came back. But I remember that the Securing the Kvatch was more difficult than the Oblivion gate. There were more than 5 creatures which attacked at time and I had only little aid from the soldiers!!! but I finished it after I gained some levels . Pretty interesting story line!!!
