You Look Sick!

Post by Musicman247 »

There is a glitch on the glitch page (here) which states:
NPCs may continue to comment on how sickly you look, even after having a disease cured.
I have had this happen to me after contracting a disease and having it cured at an altar/shrine. I have since taken a potion of cure disease and have had no other comments.

My question is: what ways of curing the disease have you used that still triggers comments from NPC's? Did you use a shrine/altar, a potion, magic? I'm trying to track down if it is a specific way of healing that causes the bug, or if it affects all ways of curing.

Well, I recently found out that maybe if you have different kinds of armour on (Like the one at the end of the thieve's guild questline) it changes you and makes you look sick. Also, when you customize your character ceratian qualities also make the character look sick.

Do you have a blind eye? If so, people will say this all the time.

Nope, no blind eye.

People's comments are more along the lines of "you look pale"

I get comments as though I'm still a werewolf, even though I'm not. "Is that fur? Coming out of your ears?" and "I find your wolfish grin...unnerving."
Signatures are overrated.

So you cured your lycanthropy?

If so, then that is strange. If you haven't, then it's normal. NPCs seem to have the ability to look at your character's specs and make a comment about them.

I used a potion to cure my disease, but the only NPC who still comments on how pale I am is Arcadia in Whiterun.

Arcadia just wants to sell you stuff. Telling you you look sick is a hint you need to buy her potions.

Well, that explains it. My Breton has two blind eyes and her face is covered in dirt.

But why would the NPCs think my Breton only became blind through illness? Why not battle?

How do you even know if you're sick? The game says I've contracted a few diseases, but I've never seen messages for it. I just pray at every shrine I encounter and don't worry about whatever bonus it gives, which I started doing one time after an NPC told me I was sick. I'm too worried I might suddenly turn into a vampire without warning.

I get the same, even thought I have cured lycanthropy long time ago. Surely it is cured, as I don't have the beast power, and I can get contracted by other diseases.

I don't know any other way than occasionally/frequently see the active effects page. I usually know that I am sick by NPC comments, or that spells fail or "cost" unusually lot (i.e. a disease dropping your magicka).

Hmmm, doesn't the message usually pop up around the left upper corner of the screen. It's not obvious, I only notice it sometimes, but it does pop up for me.
To see the world in a grain of sand
And heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour.
