What would you improve on skyrim?
If you were to improve something on skyrim what would it be?(i am not intending to flaming skyrim for being bad, i love the game)
I think personally that the only thing graphically bad is the ground or grass, and i play on ultra high on my PC. I don't know if you've actually looked at it, but it looks bad. Example : http://i.imgur.com/GcX7r.jpg
Also the lock-picking system is probably just like the most annoying thing on the game D: I think oblivion's lock-picking system was better.

I would improve NPCs, and their tendancy to trigger traps. Silly Eola.

I'd make more dialogue lines total in the game. I'm tired of every single guard in the game telling me he used to be an adventurer like me, but then he took an arrow in the leg. Blech.

I disagree, I find it very easy to pick locks even expert and master locks, usually only breaking 1-5 lockpicks for the harder ones
but other than the grass not looking good i would improve the draw distance, sometimes the landscape looks horrible far away and other times it's a sight to see

Re: What would you improve on skyrim?
I absolutely love this new lock picking system, i can pick any lock but the harder the level the more picks i end up breaking. In oblivion it was to hard so i just used auto. I agree on the graphics and guard dialog, but i find the menu's in Skyrim not overly, but slightly confusing and i preferred the Oblivion menus.

Id like to have more variety in the weapons and armor. In every Elder scrolls game i feel like there should be more.

If I were to improve Skyrim?
I would mostly focus on the water, as that is a major cosmetic problem in my opinion. The streams hardly ever keep a continuous direction, and rapids are visibly layered and lack reality. Nothing breaks immersion like the poor quality water for me.
Also, menu problems, character hiccups, dual-wielding quick key, exploits blah blah blah.
THEY WON'T PATCH THE WATER. It's a problem for good.

1: essentials. I know they are essential to prevent a quest to break. But would this expect the player to be psychic and have a predisposed knowledge of who is essential or not? Because I don't. Breaking a quest by accident could be a feature. The MQ could be more variable and not set in a certain followup.
2: Script Trackers Removal. Some npcs who need to talk to you, ie couriers can find me if I am 100% hidden. If I am unseen and unheard, how can they know where I am?
3: Hired thugs. Those guys just "teleport" in and start whacking. The least thing they could have done is have them "talk" to the player and negotiate terms first.
I hope this does not appear to annoying.

I often encounter a glitch when I become a werewolf that almost ALL characters I attack are "essential".The Black Weasel wrote:1: essentials. I know they are essential to prevent a quest to break. Also, why is it that if I want to clear out a bunch of Imperial camps of my own accord, there is an unkillable [censored] at every single one? I hate that!

Re: What would you improve on skyrim?
I’d redo the Menu system as my first priority. I don’t like it, for a PC anyway. The style is a minor gripe I have with it, the consolenessness of it is also a gripe. I mean I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either.
I’d also redo or add more Factions. I don’t like how the Companions are a Werewolf Faction, leaving no true “warrior’s faction”. I see promise in the Nordic Clans, and I would probably expand them, the Silver-Bloods, the Battle-Borns/Grey-Manes, etc.

With complete sincerity and no sarcasm whatsoever, how far would you go? I mean, 70 does seem like a large number, but would you prefer if each character had a unique voice? Or just an even greater variety?ThE cHoSeN oNe LDB3 wrote:More voice actors.

Re: What would you improve on skyrim?
No one has any gripes with the dragon physics? They look awesome and all, but they're AI just seems so clunky. They turn on a dime, seem to be thinking all the time and just hover, if you go behind him they often refuse to turn around or use their tail to smack you around, when they fly, it's like they're a marionette being controlled by a bunch of strings.
Also, this is something that is easy to be fixed, but my god make the dragon bones disappear. I know there's a topic on it, but the college of winterhold is getting ridiculous. And it only gets worse as the game progresses and more and more dragons attack there.

Better rationing of voice actors, I say.ThE cHoSeN oNe LDB3 wrote:More voice actors.
I keep hearing Keith Silverstein everywhere. He does the voice of the Arch-Mage, and a bunch of other people, but is so easily discernible.
And what's with guard-exclusive accents? It's like they only let people with certain accents become guards

Yeah, I'm with Wolfie, how big is big enough as far as number of voice actors, size of cities and number of NPCs?
I could see slightly bigger, but Beth has done a pretty good job increasing from Oblivion.

Re: What would you improve on skyrim?
As I said elsewhere, I don't really fuss about voice actors. As far as I'm concerned, most of the NPCs could be silent, with subtitles only. In fact I wish some people be silent, like the Talos priest in Whiterun.
As for the cities, Morrowind and Oblivion cities were big enough to give the feeling of a city without being overwhelmingly chaotic and repetitive as Daggerfall. I'd say that's 2 to 4 times the size of Skyrim cities. As for the NPCs, I'd say 3 to 5 times as many for the cities, while farms and smaller settlements are fine as they are.
Skyrim's cities are so tiny that it breaks immersion for me, the whole 'Gray Quarter' site of the supposed Dunmer 'invasion' of Windhelm consists of 4 houses (!). I accept this kind of simplification from a Final Fantasy, I wasn't expecting it from a TES title.

Re: What would you improve on skyrim?
Back to the Morrowind days as far as voice acting? I could dig that, that comment about that priest in Whiterun really won me over though
.
I don't think I've ever seen a TES City that felt as large Vivec, because the Daggerfall and Arena ones don't feel large so much as confusing and the IC was kind of segmented.
I will admit I was hoping for bigger in Skyrim. Like, bigger than the IC for the 5 Major Hold Capitals and slightly smaller than an Oblivion city for the other 4 Capitals. Oh well, I knew I was hoping for too much. To Winterhold Rebuilt!

Re: What would you improve on skyrim?
*cheers* Now, I really, really wish that the Imperial male Dragonborn was voiced by the same person al in Oblivion. Hearing him do "FUS RO DAH!" or "YOOR TUL SHOOR!" (I think that's what fire breath is) would be unspeakably epic.
I wish they kept Arvel's original voice for all Darkies.
I wish they made the Dunmer look... Just a little nicer. I can get a little bit they wanted that rugged kind of look, but... I think thy went a little overboard.

Re: What would you improve on skyrim?
- Scaling. It may not be as bad as oblivion. But scaling is an anti-rpg feature. If everything is my level, it's as if there was no leveling at all.
- pc menu. It looks good. But seriously, can't they come up with anything better for managing? It's almost 2012 and we have no filters, search, order options.... That's something that would take like 1 day of programming, asuming you are one of the game programmers.
- beeing able to hotkey 2 weapons. But I see this more like a bug than a lack of functionality, since it makes no sense
- Blocking. I don't like the blocking system. It should be more like dark souls, where blocking is worth it. If I block in skyrim I feel more like I'm missing a second where I could be landing an attack. So, I go with a shield, since I can't hotkey 2 weapons and don't want to open quickmenu all the time, but I don't really use it, i just do better just attacking more and moving than blocking

^This. Great idea. It annoys me that when I wear Stormie clothes I can't do discreet and disruptive things in Windhelm.
