Enchanting/disenchanting problem.

Post by WartBoy95 »

Enchanting. okay i disenchanted robes that make destruction spells 8% less to cast and give like 10% faster magic regen which sucks. but i have the master destruction robes that make magic regen 150% faster and destruction spells cost 22% lest to cast but i cant disenchant the better ones because i already disenchanted the crappy ones and know that enchantment? this is dumb. i wanna put the amazing master destruction robe bonuses on my dragon scale armor. help please? ty

Okay the way enchaments work is you learn the enchamnet type, not the numger

so if i get a ring with 20 health, i wont always get 20 health, the number depends on your skill, perks, and soul gem

So in other words those two are the exact same enchament, you did not get ripped off, just incress your level and you shall get it (or use the robes for now.

You can't put it on the armour piece? :\ You should be able to.
A (probably very rough) table.
Fortify Destruction and Magicka Regeneration is marked as an armour only enchantment, although I guess it may go further to being just a robe enchantment; meaning you can't get it on heavy/light armours.

The kind of soul gem you use also influences the power of the enchantment. Grand is the best and will give you the most powerful enchantments.

im using a grand black soul gem.. lol..it wont let me disenchant the master destruction robes because i already know the enchantment of destruction costing less magicka to cast and magicka regenerates faster but its a really weak one. (destrcution spells 8% less to cast and give like 10% faster magic regen) the master robes enchantment makes destruction spells cost 22% less to cast and magicka regenerates 150% faster. which is a huge difference. i want that on my dragonscale chest. there has to be a way..this is so dumb

try something beside the blacvk soul gem? maybe they dont work, idk never used them, use a nomral great soul gem

What you say makes no sense, either you are mistaken in something, its a glitch, those are the only options

I have disenchated a item with x amount of healing, and then got MORE with the new item

many others can say the same, you, or your game is doign something wrong

Your saying since you used the weaker robes with the same type of enchantment you can not get the high level one, which is untrue.
You need a high level enchant with the perks that increase the power, then you need a soul gem, preferable the highest level you can get. Do not use a black soul gem just cause that MAY be the problem, with that it will raise and be pretty high level, now one problem may be (and I can't confirm this) that your enchant skill can only get you so powerful items with out breaking the game, in which case there is nothing you can do, I however have not run in to this yet.

black soul gems just capture any soul unlike the others. they arent the problem black soul gems are the best. i cant believe there is no way to increase an already known enchantment's power.

THERE IS, you are not hearing me, I myself, have done it many times, as has every one else, you must be doing something wrong, I have never used a black soul gem to do it, maybe the black soul gems are glitched, who knows? try with a normal best soul gem you can get.

After reading again I MAY of found the problem, did you alredy enchant the amoour you want? if so you can not improve it.

I think the problem is that you cannot enchant anything with the same power as the enchantment on the Mage robes. They are special items with levels of power unattainable by enchanting yourself.

Unfortunately the enchantment you get from disenchanting the robes is nowhere near as good as the robes sold from the stores. I guess there must be a special guild of Robe Makers who won't share their secrets :(

Ignoring potions for a minute with the basic "Fortify Destruction" I get to 25% and with the basic "Fortify Magicka Regen" I get 62%. But the combined robe enchantment "Fortify Destruction and Magicka Regen" I only get 15% and 10%. I believe the 10% rate never changes at all.

The strength of the enchantment on the item that you disenchanted has nothing to do with how strong the enchantments will be that you put on items yourself. As stated before, you learn the effect, not the magnitude. This is influenced by your Enchanting skill, the perks you have, and the size of the soul you're using (a black soul gem filled with a Grand (human) soul is fine). That there's a cap on the magnitude of the specific enchantment in question is probably to prevent you from making armor that's more useful to mages than robes, since it defeats the point of having the robes, the Mage Armor spells like Oakflesh and the associated perks in the Alteration skill tree in the first place.
