I'm a level 32 breton mage, with almost a hundred destruction and 450 magicka (with enchantments) I noticed i was beginning to be overpowered a a distance, but if they got close they could kill me easily as my health was a mere 110, this was at level 25. Since then i've put up my health every level so it evens out a bit, yet i went into a random cave and fought a bandit maurderer using shock spells. He kill me with one burst? So i loaded a save, casted iron skin, then went to find him and he ripped through that, killing me in one shot. So then i went and got a follower, geared him up with full gilded elven and a glass greatsword and went back. and BOOM suddenly its two shots to kill us both!!!
So basically am i underpowered or he is just ridiculously tough?! He's not the only one either, i had a similar problem with a dragon priest! Oh and i'm playing on adept difficultly so its not that either!!

Re: Overpowered enemies?
You should get Ebony Flesh instead of iron skin. Also, getting the alteration perks that boost those spells help as well.
What I find helps me the most, though, is the Impact perk. Double firebolt will stagger even a dragon. Keep spamming the double fisted destruction any time the enemy moves and they shouldn't be able to get a shot off (unless you are outnumbered, then just run away and try and fight one on one).

Re: Overpowered enemies?
Yeah, you should definitely get the Mage Armor perks and the Magic Resistance perks.
If you use Restoration, get Regeneration and Avoid Death.

Also it is always usefull to have an undead or atronach as decoy, against casters you could also go for the atronach birthsign, however the downside is that you loose 50% of you original magicka regen but against casters very powerfull.

Re: Overpowered enemies?
Thank you i will try all of these things, i need to get my alteration up before i can get that so i will work on that
and i agree a game should have good tough enemies, but i need to stand a chance, a one hit kill type enemy is just plain ridiculous i need to know i can fight it lol

Re: Overpowered enemies?
i think i heard it mentioned somewhere that the destruction perks are glitched, almost every caster i run into kills me super fast its really annoying, i play a fairly rounded character, my archery is at 60 and my 1h at 50, and destruction at about 45, i find making the damage magicka regen potions work well against casters (with bow shots) also summoning a flame atronauch, and keeping a follower (i find faendal to be the best as he uses a bow and will usually distance himself from you)
