I joined the Imperial Legion from the beginning of the game and fought and killed numerous Stormcloak soldiers before. Yet when I'm walking in the forests I see a group of Stormcloaks patrolling. I walk by them, and they greet me 'how goes it brother?' Even though I am dressed head to toe in Imperial Armor.
This is a bit weird, they should attack me on sight just as they do to the imperial NPCs.
Your thoughts?
Why don't Stormcloaks attack me on Sight?

Yeah, they should. I'm sure it kinda ruins the immersion, just pretend they didn't see the Imperial Armour and didn't recognise the man who has killed hundreds of their dear friends.

I kind of wish that wearing Imperial or Stormcloak armor had a similar effect as Indoril armor in Morrowind, where certain factions would not be pleased if they see you wearing it.

I was wondering if wearing Imperial armor would have any kind of outward effect. Found a few pieces of Imperial Steel armor but was afraid to wear it (sticking with Nordic Steel) because I wasn't sure if people who're for the rebellion would react to me negatively.
Slightly still on topic, but has anyone tried wearing necromancer robes in public? Or is Necromancy not as big a deal in Skyrim as it is in Cyrodiil?

Not sure. I went with the Legion in the civil war and when you approach Stormcloak camps they'll say something to the effect of, "You have some nerve coming here dressed as an Imperial Legionnaire, you must not know there's a war going on." Then they'll attack you if you pick the Imperial loyal response. I'm not really sure if they say that because of my armor (I was wearing full Imperial) or my faction affiliation. I've heard guards comment with things such as, "That's some fine Imperial armor you have on.", so it seems NPCs do react in some fashion to what you have on.Logius wrote:I was wondering if wearing Imperial armor would have any kind of outward effect. Also, I do have random Stormcloak patrols attack me, while other Stormcloaks do not. I'm assuming the ones at checkpoints and patrols will in some capacity, while, from what I've seen, the ones that serve as actual guards in settlements usually won't. Unfortunately I finished the civil war chain and can't test it as the only Stormcloaks left are in their camps.
