College of Winterhold and Dragons...

Post by unokitsune »

Can somebody test this?

Because of 6 dragon encounters at winterhold, 5 being in the college itself I have renamed the College to College of Dragonbone this

and this

is why.

Why so many? I think it has something to do with the Eye of Magnus and the trainers mages more specifically the Destruction, Illusion and Conjuration trainers.

Whenever I gained a new level and wanted a quick boost to these skills I would fast travel to the college of winterhold and then head inside the Hall of Contiplence where those trainers slept/eat and would train them. Not joking, 50% of the time I would leave the building I would hear an all too familiar roar.....Because of help and my conjurations they would die fast. But as you can see from the pictures it's become rather ridiculous. Sometimes I get lucky and the terrain eats some of the bones but not all of the bones and the ground causes them to move and glitch into ridiculous angles and sometimes they get stuck on the gate and make noise.

They began doing this when I got the eye of magnus out of the nordic Burrow and before I continued anything else ((I had the book winterhold quest but didn't turn it in yet, Hitting the Books)) and the dragons swarmed.

Also the foilage specifally the snowberries and the mountain flowers don't appear to be respawning at this point in time.

I have finished the college of winterhold quests and havn't had much of a problem since, save they continue to attack me whenever I'm in a small village.

I've actually had 3-4 dragon attacks in that college and winterhold. I might attribute to the fact that i'm there SO OFTEN compared to other places. So since it is random encounters, you're bound to see them more there. Then again, just me be some weird programming thing. Perhaps a little bit of option and A and little bit of option B tbh.

3-4 dragon attacks and I'm "only" like 40 hours into the game and barely into the eye of magnus quests. So don't know how much that compares to you. I've flung the dragon bones from the bridge, and they reappeared in the college courtyard some time later. I facepalmed.

I don't think there is a reason that this is occurring per se, although I could be wrong. Might it be that you spend a disproportionate amount of time there? It might just be a very unlikely coincidence?

I've fought 2 or 3 at the college - the bones will always disappear over time. It certainly seems to be a hotbed of activity, but given time it takes to get to Winterhold, it could simply be that the amount of time spent fast travelling to Winterhold guarantees a dragon will spawn.

Well I don't think it has anything to do with the Eye of Mangus... That is completly unrelated to the dragon spawning. I have however foughten a dragon right on the college grounds though.

Well perhaps it has something to do with the College itself? I have fast traveled there from a nearby cave before after fighting one dragon only to fight another.

I'm not sure but Like I said, There are 5 dragon bodies there that I'm hoping will go away.

Yes, I too can confirm that dragons are quite frequent at the collage.

I had Two dragons attack simultaneously.

I think there is a bug in that area of the world, it should get fixed in the next patch, someone report it.

This happens to me too, but for Falkreath. There's one skeleton in the middle of the town, one right in front of the city gate, and one on a small hill nearby.

Yes, I've said it before but I'll say it again. I've flung them off the bridge or into the sky thinking that would be the end. Then they reappear at various places in the college grounds. Sometimes just on the floor, other times halfway through the ceiling/floor/walls.
