Dwanum stumbled backwards and quickly got his balance back. He picked up his axe and charged in again. He faked to the right, then lunged left and attempted to hit the sheild in a retreating fashion.

Gurgun reacted surprisingly Elf-like and had poor Dwanum on the ground in a matter of seconds. "Had enough?"

[Imp]

"yessir" "yar a dwarf, right?" He muttered. He slowly got up and bowed towards Gurgun

"I've got to admit, most new-bloods are down on the ground before I even hit them. Let's see the commander."

[Imp]

"Yessir" Dwanum followed him and asked "What was that testing any way?"

[POMC S117]

"Endurance. Not many people can be hit in the face with a disc of iron and get back up again."

[Gandalf]

Groogan squinted at the sky. He could vaguely make out shapes in the sky, but was not sure what they were. "Cam, can you see something up there?" he asked his Elven companion. "Yes, I think -" suddenly he stopped. All colour went out of his face. "They're giant eagles! Even from this distance, I can tell that one of them stands taller than three Men, one on top of the other! If they see us, we'll surely be killed!" Groogan was standing there, looking stunned. "Well, we'd best move then, hm?" he said, his Dwarven cheeriness still undampened. "Pack up then, Cam. I want to be able to move by nightfall." They both set to packing their camp.

[Imp]

"Oh" "So, why did the commander ask if I fought in a Goblin War before?"

[POMC S117]

"Brace yourself." He said sadly. "You may not like what you'll hear. Ah... Commander."

The eagle spotted the two people. He flew down to them. "No need to run. I am just warning you that a huge band of orcs is scaling the mountain. I'm heading to Gondolin to warn them."

[Eltee]

Irriwen lost her nerve, and reluctantly turned back to Gondolin.

After a long journey back through the pass, she came upon the great plain on which the hidden city was situated. She sighed, and started walking back to the city.

Dwanum brought his hand at attention, "Sir!"

[Gandalf]

"It talks! This is truly amazing!" he said with childish glee. "Cam, come meet the eagle!" When his companion stood next to him he said, "Is there any way we can help with the situation?"

"Sit dwon, Blood-Brother. Yes, I promoted you. Bring us food, Gyrin!"

"Get in citizen!" Called a guard. "Orcs inbound. The eagles have warned us!"

"Yes, you can. Jump on my back, and don't pull my feathers. I'm turning old." The eagle "grinned".

[Imp]

Dwanum sat down. "Thank you sir."

[Eltee]

"Orcs! Here? They found us?" Irriwen called out nervously, running as fast as she could to the gate.

[POMC S117]

"You may not like this but times are desperate. As a Blood-Brother, you get discounts, more money, respect. But, you're also conscripted to fight." The dwarf put some bread and meat on the table.

"It seems to be the case! It's a medium sized force, nothing that we can't handle. As long as we kill every single one of them we should be find! The eagles have agreed to search for them!"

[Gandalf]

"One moment, let us just get our packs. What of our camp?" he said, setting about gathering food and water.

[POMC S117]

"The orcs are coming up this mountain! Take only what you need."

[Gandalf]

"Very well. Cam, let's go! Hurry!" they both clambered onto the eagle's back, being wary not to pull any feathers.

[Eltee]

Irri sprinted through the city gate. "Where is our retaliatory force? I want to go!" She said childishly, seeing it as an opportunity to find the adventure she craved.

[Imp]

Understood, my life for Belegost.

"Y-You're too young."

The guard beside him noticed them speaking. "We're desperate. I'll go with her."

Stressed, the other guard agreed. "Just protect her."

The eagled took off and glided over a large forest. He then dropped and landed beside the city. "We'll watch over you." And then he took off again.

"You have a day." Said the dwarf. "You can go now."

[Eltee]

"Oh, thank you!" Irri exclaimed, hugging the guard. She quickly jumped back. "Where do we go?" She asked energetically.

"To the barracks first. You need weapons and armour!"
